Roxanne Fernando, 24, was lured to a violent death in February 2007, only weeks after discovering she was pregnant with Plourde’s child….
During the youth’s sentencing, Crown attorney Brent Davidson told court Plourde pressured her to have an abortion. Fernando initially agreed to terminate her pregnancy but later had a “change of heart,” setting in motion a disturbing chain of events, he said….
“It would be the fetus that would drive the planned and deliberate killing of Ms. Fernando,” said Davidson….
Fernando was taken to a remote area near Mollard Road and Ritchie Street in northwest Winnipeg and repeatedly beaten with a broken hockey stick until she was dead. Her body was then buried in a snow-filled ditch.
What the Finance Committee bill does is mandate that the secretary of Health and Human Services make certain that the health insurance exchange in every state include an insurance plan that covers abortions that go beyond those funded by the Hyde Amendment – that go beyond covering abortion in cases of rape, incest or a threat to the life of the mother.
The bill requires the secretary to make certain every state has an insurance plan that people can buy with money paid directly out of the U.S. Treasury that covers abortion on demand…..
If the insurance plans in a particular state decide they do not want to cover the killing of unborn babies, the HHS secretary will presumably have to come up with some means for recruiting an insurer into that state that is ready and willing to cover abortions.
But whatever means the secretary settles on for carrying out the bill’s death mandate, the fact is that if this bill is enacted, every future American HHS secretary will be required by law to make sure that people can secure abortions through a government-approved insurance plan that receives revenue straight out of the U.S. Treasury.

The Canadian health care system at work.
Another ‘back alley abortion’ gone bad.
Keep em ‘legal’ so they will be ‘safe’.
Oh wait.
Abortions are legal.
The Canadians are still working on ‘safe’.

“It would be the fetus that would drive the planned and deliberate killing of Ms. Fernando,” said Davidson….
Oh, yes. Of course the dasterdly mastermind planned all this out so that s/he and his/her mother would be slaughtered. It’s all the fetus’s fault, isn’t it? Never mind the pro-abortion, ‘nad-less sicko who beat her to death. Never mind HIS free agency.
Ken, I’m sorry but you cannot blame the Canadian health care system on this woman’s death.
She died because of the contraceptive and abortion mentality that exists in our society today.
Actually she died due to the idea most men and many women have that they are entitled to the right to promiscuous sex without any obligations.
Clearly Ms. Fernando’s “fetus” was a threat to that imagined “right”.
And yes Abel, I’m with you on this one: The dastardly fetus, capable of masterminding the death of it’s mother whom he/she depends upon for it’s very life. We all know how evil some fetuses can be. :(
I just read the entire article….
Here are some additional disturbing details…pure evil is the theme.
-Plourde offered the youth $500 and a 32-inch television to carry out the act. He initially refused, but began participating in the plot, court was told. (2 lives sold for a television).
-(after the murder) Fernando’s killers went to McDonald’s for a bite to eat, stopped at Safeway for some cleaning supplies for the vehicle and then text-messaged at least one of Fernando’s friends — using her cellphone — indicating all was well. (they could eat after brutally murdering mom and baby… sick, sick, sick).
And so much for choice, the mom choose to keep the baby. If the pro-aborts would really support choice, they would help on both sides, don’t you think. CHOICE IS DEATH FOR THE BABY.

If the pregnant woman had ‘chosen’ to kill her pre-natal child at a health care facilty in Canada, her child would be no less dead than he/she is now.
The men who beat the mother to death with a broken hockey stick are no less vicious than the Canadian medical professionals who murder pre-natal children everyday.
The murderers attempted to hide their crimes under a bank of white snowed. But this white washed tomb eventually melted away and the truth was plain for all to see.
The health care professionals attempt to hide their evil deeds behind their white robes and ivory towers. One day they will be stripped of their robes and their ivory towers will crumble for all who have eyes to see and ears to hear will be confronted with the revealed truth.
Every once in while even these ‘professionals’ screw up and prove that though abortion may be ‘legal’, it is never safe for the pre-natal child and sometimes hazardous, even lethal, for the pregnant woman.
Of course the Canadian legal system shares culpability with the Canadian health care system.
