UPDATE, 4:25p: Per YahooNews.com:
Sarah Palin is going to sit down with Oprah Winfrey…. [T]he former governor of AK and Republican vice presidential candidate will appear on The Oprah Winfrey Show on Monday, Nov. 16….
[T]he interview will be Palin’s first about her new book, Going Rogue: An American Life, and it will be the first time Palin and Winfrey will meet.
Palin’s book was No. 4 on Amazon.com’s best-seller list on Tuesday. It’s slated to be released Tuesday, Nov. 17, the day after Palin’s interview with Winfrey.

The press release came via email yesterday…

… and I was as pleasantly surprised as anyone. I asked Wisconsin Right to Life president Barb Lyons to dish details, and she responded:
We have been trying to get her for a year. We just found out Friday that we had her and had to wait until yesterday to release the info…. We are incredibly excited!
Me, too!
Palin’s book, Going Rogue, is scheduled for release only 11 days after this event, on November 17, so the media should be worked into a frenzy.
This is Palin’s 2nd speaking engagement at a pro-life banquet following her run for VP, the first being April 16 at Vanderburgh Co. Right to Life’s banquet in IN, which says a lot about her deep and continued pro-life convictions.
Tickets to the Palin event at Wisconsin Right to Life are $30 each, limit 4. If I can arrange a flight to get back in time from another engagement, I’m going!

Someone with the draw that she has, who could command a fortune for herself who instead headlines pro-life fundraisers- that says a lot about her.
The rest of the world can persecute her and I will still admire her.
I wish I was from WI! Congrats to them for having such a wonderful lady to speak for their cause.
Whoo Hoo!!
I just read on-line that she’s going to appear on Oprah. That’s disappointing. WHY would she bother with Oprah of ALL people?
Carla,
Have your people call Sarah’s people to see if she’ll take you on Oprah with her! You would be great. :-)
Would love to see a stage full of women who regret their abortions on a talk show!! Let’s not hold our breath!
I wish I lived closer to Milwaukee.

I plan to be there. If anyone wants to support the IDSC and wear our tshirt with us, we would love to see as many tshirts out there as possible that tell her how much we all LOVE Trig!!!! Diane

Good question. I hope Sarah is ready for a difficult interview, because we know that Oprah has an agenda and she will be pushing for Obamacare. I don’t think Oprah has invited Palin to make Palin look good. She may be putting Sarah on her show so she can take some credit for Sarah’s awesome book sales.
Call me cynical.
If I were Sarah, I’d postpone the interview with Oprah until a few weeks after the book release.
Wisconsin RTL should be aware Palin has shown up at one in six events to which she “committed”- the one that paid six figures.
The Alaska political bloggers have already peppered Oprah’s staff with questions to ask about Palin’s many political, financial and personal scandals, so it could get interesting. I don’t expect a softball interview from Oprah.
I’ll let Barb Lyons know, Bystander. Yes. We should be aware. Thank you. :P
Oprah will be totally fair and balanced in her questioning I’m sure. Just two girlfriends sitting on the couch for a chat. I know she won’t be letting her agenda show. No sireeeee.
Ooooh. Love the word scandal too. Sounds scandalous.
That would be a bummer if she did not show up! I am driving 10 hours, so I hope this does not happen! Yikes! Although of course you always run the risk with anything, that anything can fall through, this increased chance sure is disheartening!
What increased chance, IDSCforlife?
“What increased chance, IDSCforlife?”
Carla, The increased chance, due to her past cancellations that Bystander spoke of. Just thinking out loud here. lol
Please do not let Bystander deter you from your plans. Bystander is here to be the voice of doom!! If you are traveling 10 hours, I could probably do the 6 hours it would take me. Hmmmmm.

Thanks for the reminder Carla!! And yes, you could do the 6 hours! I have read your blog and I have meant to mention to you that I grew up near where you are from, if I read your blog right! lol (if my memory serves me right) I will have to contact you by email to talk about that. :)
Please do!! carla@jillstanek.com
I have checked out your blog too. Love it!! :)
I’m sorry to hear the Palin is going on Oprah’s show. I’m nervous to hear what happens, and debating on whether or not to watch. I really really dislike Oprah. I’d rather not give her the ratings, but I hope to see a well-prepared Palin knock it out of the ballpark… hmmm…
Wishing I were closer to Wisconsin!
I hardly ever watch Oprah but did watch yesterday and was deeply saddened as she interviewed Wanda Sykes, a comedian, and she gushed all over her about how great it is that she has come out of the closet, how wonderful her life has become because she has married a “white wife” (I don’t really know why that was lauded) and they have adopted a child together. I don’t hate Ms. Sykes nor am I homophobic but I am so burdened for her soul and her spirit. I have talked to young women and have friends who have ministered and counseled with adults and teens who thought this “alternate lifestyle” would bring them happiness, love and peace only to discover that they have been devastated, wounded and broken. They found out no sexual experience on this earth will ever fill the hole in us that God’s son Jesus alone will fill. There is a DVD titled “It’s Not Gay” by AFA (afa.net) which deals with the pain caused by homosexuality.
Oprah has brought more people down the road to destruction by her celebrating premarital sex, cohabitation, homosexuality, lesbianism and every form of immorality than probably anyone I could ever think of. I pray for and weep for our nation and for her. Right after her celebrating Ms. Sykes lifestyle she had gospel singers Cece and Bebe Winans sing a song called “Grace” off of their new album. What an irony that they sang in their song the lines “Amazing grace, How sweet the sound, That saved a WRETCH like me”. If John 3:16 and Romans Chapter 1 does not tell us that although God loves sinners, He does not celebrate our sin but hates it in any form not just sexual sin, then we would have no need for a Savior to save us from our “wretchedness”. His sacrifice of his life would have been for nothing and we don’t need His grace or His mercy because we can live any way we desire, a life without any boundaries. The scripture say “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord” and “sin is a reproach to any people”. The opposite of blessing is cursing and we will reap and are now reaping our just “reward” because we despise God’s standard.
