Quote of the Day 3-25-10
Stupak.
Etymology: Eponym for Rep. Bart Stupak.
Function: verb
1: In a legislative process, to obstruct passage of a proposed law on the basis of a moral principle (i.e., protecting the unborn), accumulating power in the process, then at a key moment surrendering in exchange for a fig leaf, the size of which varies according to the degree of emasculation of said legislator and/or as a reflection of just how stupid people are presumed to be. (Slang: backstabber.)
~Kathleen Parker, “Stupak’s fall from pro-life grace,” Washington Post, March 24

“We are not bound to win, but we are bound to be true. We are not bound to succeed, but we are bound to let whatever light we have shine.”
If someone, with a proven track record of virtuosity made this statement we would all know what it meant and both agree with and applaud her/him/it.
However ms Parker attributed this bit of purely rhetorical flourish to B.O. commenting on his hellth scare scam.
Truth and light to B.O. are no more than smoke and mirrors.
B.O.’s words have no value because they have no fixed definition or meaning.
B.O. is just reading something someone else has written from his everpresent side kick TOTUS.
B.O.’s ‘light’ is darkness and he has traded TRUTH for lies.
