Another overpopulation risk: Islands could “tip over and capsize”

Meet Rep. Hank Johnson (D-GA). While questioning the Navy’s Pacific Fleet commander, Adm. Robert Willard, at a March 25 Armed Services Committee hearing, Johnson worried that the island of Guam might capsize if we put a few thousand more people [8k Marines and families] on it – because it’s only 7 miles across at its “least widest” point.
Johnson later explained that he was speaking metaphorically. Watch the video and judge for yourself….
Johnson represents GA’s 4th district, which previously sent the red menace Cynthia McKinney to Washington. Needless to say, around 150% of his district voted for Obama in the last election.
Johnson is a member of the House Democratic leadership, serving as Regional Whip for the 8th Region (GA, FL, MS, AL, U.S. Virgin Islands). He [also] sits on the… Judiciary Committee. A frequent and harsh critic of President Bush, he thinks criticism of Obama is secretly racist, and has called for the censure of an Obama critic in Congress..
The 55-year-old Johnson is a graduate of Clark Atlanta University and the Thurgood Marshall School of Law. So far, Johnson is the leading contender for this year’s Sheila Jackson Lee Martian Flag Award Category.

He is painfully ignorant about the climate, science and geography. A floating boat may capsize. An island will not. Guam is 220 sq miles. Manhattan Island is closer to 20. It also is not going to capsize.
It tells me he votes for bills he can’t read or understand.
Who is running against him?
If Congressman Johnson were the Admiral, after asking an inane question like this, a phyical and mental evaluation would have been ordered to determine if he were ‘fit’ for command.
Johnson’s political affiliation is irrelevant.
Unless this was really a joke [the admiral was not laughing and neither Johnson nor his colleagues were laughing, then Johnson may not be ‘fit’ to serve.
If Johhson were driving a car and he made the same kind of non-sensical comments to a police officer, the cop would be remiss in his duties if he did not require Johnson to submit to a ‘breathalizer’ test.
Johnson is obviously ‘impaired’. Maybe he was off his meds or there was adverse reaction to his meds, but Johnson would not be allowed to operate motor vehicle in his condition.
In this condition Johnson should not be allowed to ‘vote’ on matters that affect the whole nation.

If he’s worried about global warming, why doesn’t he just draft a measure which would make everyone on the right side of the planet jump up and down in unison until it pushes the Earth farther away from the sun? Do it for the polar bears, congressman!
I would feel comfortable laughing if he weren’t busy making decisions which impact the future of my country.

Janet… Interesting, Hepatitis C, blood-to-blood caused, usually by sexual practices or drug use, although there are other lesser causes.
Still, it shouldn’t impact brain function. Chronic symptoms, according to wiki: “fatigue, flu-like symptoms, joint pains, itching, sleep disturbances, appetite changes, nausea, and depression.”
And if the disease or related issue is indeed impacting his cognitive abilities, he should retire, or he should never have run, since he was only 1st elected in 2006.
Yeah, pity might be more in order (supposing he does have some sort of disease affecting his mental functions) if he wasn’t a lawmaker.

Janet – I saw that too. One would think if he’s suffering from this he’d consider retiring to recover, looking out for the best interests of his constituents.
If his remarks are not a side-effect of his illness, then it’s an indicator of the lack of due diligence by his district.
This is what you get when secular humanism is taught in public schools and unniversities.
Are we going to take the Kingdom my friends or be frightened by the giants in the land: Secular Humanism, Liberalism, and Islam. God says they are grasshoppers. What say you Joshua and Caleb? Did the Resurrection restore the Kingdom or not? “The righteous shall live by faith”.

Johnson states in the article, “The final goal I had was to be a congressman”. Obviously he reached that goal. He is interested in becoming an advocate for hepatitis C victims according to the AJC story. Sounds like a good plan for him.

People with liver failure can get elevated levels of ammonia in their blood stream which would lead to cognitive impairment. Perhaps his Hep C has finally pushed his liver over the edge?

The alarming thing is some of the constituents in Johnson’s congressional district have pet rocks that are smarter than he is but they vote for him any way.
Johnson probably only cast one vote for himself in the general election. That means many of the same folks who cast votes for him, also voted for his predecessor missi McKinnie.
No matter what their ethnicity and the state of their mental health liberal/progressive/democRATS are harmful to our national health.

Whatever the etiology, it’s clear that the man is cognitively impaired. It’s evident that he is struggling, and failing, to put together coherent thoughts.
Well I am relieved to know that Johnson is leaning in way over the plate and taking one for the team so that he can ensure that his fellow americans are well represented.
The only problem with that plan is that his judgement is as impaired as someone who had taken multiple fast balls to the head.
Therefore he is not providing responsilble representation for american.

Yes, look at the Humanist Manifesto which is their Creed. Out of The Church of Secular Humanism we now have the denominations of Liberalism, Environmentalism, Naturalism, Eugenics, Evolution, etc. which are all anti-Christ, anti-Bible and anti-Church. As a result, we have God and prayer taken out of schools, legalized abortion (and a Health Care Reform Package that encourages population control via abortion, assisted suicide, death panels, end-of-life counseling, and euthanasia), the normalization of sexual perversion and the destruction of marriage, all in the name of “FAIRNESS” and “EQUALITY”. This doctrine of fairness has led to the culture of death which the church via the gradual acceptance of “theistic evolution” and “abortion-as-a-right or pro-choice propaganda” has allowed the poisoning of the Kingdom message of the Gospel of Life. Instead of the doctrine of fairness we need to embrace the Truth of Jesus Christ and His Church, His Kingdom on Earth that he died to restore. This will lead us back to the culture of life.

If you don’t believe me let’s compare the results of our deviation from God’s truth and the embracing of Secular Humanism. I saw the video. I can easily believe he is ill. He sounded awful as well as confused. If he is incompetent due to illness, he should be removed. It is not his fault if he is ill.
The island might tip over? Hey, while we’re at it, maybe we should be concerned that the sky might fall! And let’s not forget that people are killed by H2O every year, so we should probably ban that dangerous substance since the island is surrounded by it.
Good grief! If this is representative of the intelligence level of those leading our nation, it is no wonder the United States is such dire straights. We have become a nation of stupid people, led by stupid people. Unreal.

I am sure that Michelle Obama’s anti-obesity initiative will keep our sailors from tipping Guam. If the unanticipated does begin to happen…the simple addition of a cattle ranch on the opposite side of the island should keep it from tipping.

Believe me, we were all hoping that. Watch the video… he actually uses his hands to show what he thinks is going to happen to the island. Really, this is quite sad.
I honestly thot I was reading from The Onion or Shepherds press.

At first I thought it was his dry, slow, Southern drawl that was sabotaging his attempt at hyperbole or joking.(Although I think he grew up in D.C.)
But the more I think about it, the way he used his hands to illustrate Guam tipping over seems to indicate he was actually thinking through what he was saying.
Okay, now it’s really time to fear for our country.
