Hahahahahahhaha! This cracks me up! I’m actually back from friends who had a baby 5 days ago, so I saw an exactly same reaction of a dad when he tried to change the diaper! LOL! In reality it was even funnier! They have to get over it though, a woman has to go through so much with pregnancy and birth and breastfeeding, men should just men up and do that one thing they are able to do.
Please…
These guys have got to be kidding. I’ve changed at least half of my children’s diapers, and they didn’t even begin to compare to the smell of some public toilets.
But then again, I was an orderly in a nursing home when I was 19-20 years old, and changed grown men’s diapers. Babies are a breeze in comparison. Many of those men voiced the same regret: Not enjoying the baby stuff or spending time with their children when they were young.
If a dad bonds over diapers, there’s little he won’t do for his children in the future.
And remember my brothers, keep the boys covered in front for as much of the time as possible ;-)
I am on year 13 of changing diapers. Come on dads it’s not THAT bad. :)
Happy Father’s Day to all of you Dads!!
Most diapers aren’t that bad. However, I’ve had a baby that has had to have iron supplements for anemia- those diapers were FOUL. There was no doubt when she needed changing. I’ve heard the same thing for some babies who need special formula that’s essentially pre-digested. Those diapers can be room-clearing hazardous waste zones.
However, most diapers are no issue at all, especially for breast-fed babies. I’m only finishing year 6 of diapers, so Carla has me beat for now, but we’ll see what the future holds.
