Quote of the Day 8-20-10
Pregnancy tests will soon be offered on display among snacks and sodas across Switzerland, as the market leader company, Selecta, is equipping thousands of machines in train stations, offices and other public areas.
… Selecta’s director, Thomas Nussbaumer, says the full roll-out of the products is planned for the end of the month….
… He added that, since condoms are selling well at the vending machines and demand is growing, it suggests there might be room for a “connected” product.
~AOL News, August 18

How odd. I thought condoms were supposed to prevent pregnancy…
LOL, that was my thought too… how is a pregnancy test a “connected product” if condoms are so effective in preventing pregnancy? That would be like marketing tylenol, sore throat spray, tissues, etc. as “connected products” with the flu shot.
At least they aren’t putting RU-486 or so-called “emergency contraceptives” in vending machines… yet. (eyeroll)
I’m wondering how long it will be before they offer a 2 for 1 deal – buy a box of condoms, get a pregnancy test free! (Since 15% of couples exclusively using condoms fall pregnant in the first year of use- you’re gonna need it!)
Why not just throw some mattresses on the ground?
Well I do understand the concept. In target and walmart, the pregnancy test is usually next to the condoms.
