(Prolifer)ations 10-14-10
by Susie Allen, host of the blog, Pro-Life in TN
- Pro-Life Action League reports a humorous anecdote from an Albany abortion mill, where a handful of pro-aborts showed up to “defend” the mill from a 40 Days for Life prayer vigil. One pro-abort called police, mistakenly believing pro-lifers were to stay 1,000 ft (the length of 3 football fields) away from the clinic doors.
- SoapboxFive posts thoughts on recent attempts to force NYC pregnancy centers to announce which services they do not provide (certainly not required of other businesses), and questions why feminists would oppose centers that offer actual choices, other than abortion, to women in need.
- Secular Pro-Life also discusses the assault on pregnancy centers, stating:
… [W]hen similar legislation was proposed in Baltimore, pro-lifers proposed an amendment requiring abortion businesses to post what services THEY don’t offer– e.g. baby supplies, parenting classes, adoption services – and the amendment was shot down.
From that, it’s pretty clear that the aim of the legislation is not so much to inform women as to divert business.
- Also from Secular Pro-Life, actor Michael Caine admits to a long-held secret: he requested his father, who was suffering with cancer, be euthanized. The doctor originally declined, but later obliged. SPL states they do not have an official position on assisted suicide.
- Bound for Life links to an article about a smiling unborn child from the UK’s Daily Mail, stating, “the more science looks at the fetus in the womb the more we learn about how human that fetus really is.”
- Vital Signs posts the author’s own opinion piece on fetal pain, which was published in the Omaha World-Herald.
- Pro-Life Wisconsin draws attention to the latest hypocritical stunt by Planned Parenthood: dinner placemats to encourage parent/child dinner conversations. PLW aptly notes:
PP’s effort to increase communication between parents and children is ironic at best. PP’s desire for parental communication ends at the doorstep of its abortion facilities. Planned Parenthood has consistently made headlines for covering up purported statutory rape, opposing parental notification laws and pushing birth control to teens and preteens.
- Wesley J. Smith discusses the “vague legislative language” in Obamacare and how it places the elderly and disabled at a clear disadvantage when it comes to who decides quality of life issues.
What really bugs me about the attack on the CPC’s is that all the “proof” about how they “mislead” women comes from NARAL, PP, etc. Hardly unbiased sources.
To those of you who read the New York Times article, especially those of you who have worked at CPCs, please write the author of the article at susan.dominus@nytimes.com
and tell her that we do NOT tell women that God will never forgive you.
Time to get out the checkbook again . . .
1000 feet sounds fair.
Absolutely, I think abortionists should stay 1000 feet from all pregnant women.
Here is the correct link re: Michael Caine

Michael Caine…wasn’t he the one that was in “The Cider House Rules”? I didn’t see it (and will never want to), but I heard about what the plot was (there’s an abortuary involved).
Liz,
I never saw that movie, and won’t because of the abortion story. Another Michael Caine movie (in which he plays an alcoholic, womanizing cad, “Alfie”) involves abortion. FYI, watching “Alfie” with one’s teenagers provides a good teaching moment on avoiding these vices in one’s life.
Thanks, Kelsey. Corrected.
