Quote of the Day 12-23-10
The real gift for America would be that our Congress would continue to work together on bipartisan, bicameral legislation. The last week has shown that it is indeed possible. But that does not appear to extend to the rights of women. Bills that work to better the lives of women and girls become mired in religious and philosophical conflict. It is as if the biology of being a woman relegates one’s rights to religious doctrines or to a socially conservative movement. Again and again bills that support the right of women to live healthy lives are thwarted because of the fear that some funds might go to provide abortions. And again and again the bills die and the public is silent.
For those of you who care, let our gift be to the women and children who are forced into marriage, servitude or who cannot control their own bodies or who are raped or trapped by their biology.
~JAC, RH Reality Check, December 20

Dear JAC,
You can take the religion out of the State, but you can’t take the religion out of the people.
P.S. Abortion kills human babies. That’s not philosophy, or religious belief. That’s science. No amount of bi-partisanship can change that fact.
Dear JAC,
Some of us are not religious but are still pro-life. We are also not all socially conservative. Most of us are women, too. Why would we want to squelch our own rights? Get your head out of your patoot and stop with the alarmist, dramatic generalizations which are, in fact, LIES.
“trapped by their biology”….THERE YOU GO. This is why I resent the sexism that abortion represents. Us poor lil ole ladies are “trapped by our biology”. We can’t ever be anything because we are female with breasts and vaginas and we get pregnant. Talk about being misogynist! The only way women can get ahead is to hate our femininity and kill our children. Hey Merry Christmas pro-aborts!
Eh? So in reality – we want the continuation of being able to kill our children because…
That is the science of abortion – not philosophy, not religion, not political arguments.
I want to be able to kill my child because….
Repeat until it sinks in. It’s all about human rights – everyone’s, including unborn humans.
Remember: I want to be able to kill my child because….
Thank you MaryLee, Sydney, and Janet~ I’m not religious, and I don’t mind being “Trapped by the biology” my parents gave me. I don’t have fear about the church infringing on me, because they are on the side of life. Yet, I do have an interest in “HEALTH” I know how abortion destroys not only the innocent young life (fetus) but the emotional and psychological aspect of the mother. Breast Cancer is directly related to the hormones that are abruptly zapped at the time the breast tissues are making the all important milk glands & THE BABY is ripped out of the womb.
Deception, sick and so against normal. JAC, and RH (non)-Reality Check, you are mis-informed and your ignorance is hurting our gender, our nation, and the world.
“trapped by their biology”….THERE YOU GO. This is why I resent the sexism that abortion represents.
Actually, my guess is that this sentence refers to transsexuals who are FtM. Trans-people often describe themselves as “trapped” by their biology or “betrayed” by their bodies, and the language is fairly common among those people who discuss that sort of thing, as I suspect the RH folks do. I don’t think they’re referring to non-trans women here.
That doesn’t, of course, let the quote off the hook for everything else that’s wrong with it, but there you are.
You’re probably right Alice. I wasn’t thinking of transexuals. But they probably were. They still seem to hate their own gender though.
Where exactly in America are women or girls forced into marriage and servitude?? A small sect of Mormons in Utah, perhaps, but beyond that, such things happen to girls in the Middle East, not in America. A ridiculous argument.
“The only way women can get ahead is to hate our femininity and kill our children.”
Sydney, exactly. Modern feminism requires women to despise their femininity and their children.
How does abortion stop women from being raped or being forced into marriage and servitude?
Well, according to pro-abort “logic”, abortion puts an end to all the evils of society: Poverty, crime, over-population, rape, incest, enslavement of women, etc.
And, as we know in REALITY, the only thing abortion puts an end to is the life of the child.
But then, they can’t get their heads out of their “you-know-where” long enough to deal in REALITY.
this lady has the USA mixed up with a culture that has arranged marriages. That doesn’t happen much in the USA anymore…..
Pregnancy is beautiful. My chiropractor’s wife is due in about a week with their first.
Speaking of being trapped by their biological circumstances – and cannot control their own bodies because someone else exerts power over them – that really describes unborn children.
They’ll be waiting for their gifts… but somehow I don’t think you mean such children.
Well, according to pro-abort “logic”, abortion puts an end to all the evils of society: Poverty, crime, over-population, rape, incest, enslavement of women, etc.
More than 50 million innocents later in the US alone, and we’re still waiting for all of that, huh?
Wow, women who by choice celebrate and embrace their biology and femininity are seen as “entrapped” by religion and “locked in servitude” and in need of freeing by “heroic” feminists (sarcasm quotes), how mysogynic and patronizing. They are many ways to celebrate and embrace one’s biology, by embracing traditional gender rules, mdoern gender rules, transgenderism, and everything imbetween.
If you actually read what was written, rather than just one quoted part, you’ll see that it’s not generalizing about all women, but rather talking about women and girls where what was said really does apply.
Okay, some of you do not like abortion being legal. But that does not mean that there are not situations where girls and women are forced into marriage and/or servitude, where they are raped and truly cannot control their own bodies.
(Pamela): Well, according to pro-abort “logic”, abortion puts an end to all the evils of society: Poverty, crime, over-population, rape, incest, enslavement of women, etc.
No, that’s a straw man argument. It would be as nonsensical to maintain that as it is to pretend that it’s pro-choice logic.
There is no “putting an end to all the evils of society.” Certainly, legal abortion affects the number of people living in poverty, crime statistics, the number of cases of incest, rapes, and of course the population, but pro-choice logic is not that the number of occurrences of a given “societal evil” will go to zero.
That is how abortion was sold in 1973. Abortion was going to end poverty and lower the crime rate and there would be no more unwanted children. That is how Bernard Nathanson and his peeps sold abortion as being a very good thing for society.
We bought it hook, line and sinker.
Hows that workin for us, Doug?
Carla, no not “end poverty,” although of course it stands to reason that poverty has been decreased from what it would be, all other things being equal, since kids do cost money.
There is no “ending poverty,” no matter what, and while “every child a wanted child” is a worthy goal, legal abortion does not mean that every unwanted pregnancy will necessarily be ended nor that every born child will be properly cared for – nothing can assure those things.
Doug,
I am telling you what abortion was promised to deliver back in the day. What is there to argue?? Read Nathanson’s book The Hand of God. Oh and don’t forget to read the part about inflating the number of women who died by illegal abortion. They said thousands and thousands. It was less than 100. They did the best lying and manipulation they could to make abortion legal. And guess what?? It worked!!
Every unwanted child a dead child.
No, Carla, not every unwanted pregnancy meant a dead baby – there were and still are lots of kids born into horrible situations.
And some people may have indeed lied about certain statistics. But many state laws on abortion were struck down because of their effect on the individual woman, not on the basis of what you claim that “they” claimed.
Many, many times we have seen outright lies, massively distorted statistics, etc., on the part of pro-life organizations, websites, etc. That is no necessary indictment of pro-lifers in general nor the pro-life cause as a whole, and the same applies to pro-choicers.
The motto of Planned Parenthood used to be
EVERY CHILD A WANTED CHILD.
What they really mean is EVERY UNWANTED CHILD A DEAD CHILD. All PP offers women is killing. That is ALL they offer women in a crisis pregnancy.
“Unwanted” describes not a condition of a child but an attitude of adults. The problem of “unwantedness” is a good argument for wanting children but a poor argument for eliminating them. -Randy Alcorn
You honestly think that the lies of those directly involved in the legalization of abortion and the deaths of 50 million children holds a candle to any “distorted” statistics of prolifers????!!!!
Whatevs Doug. Have you learned NOTHING in your years of coming here?
