Lunch Break: Chris Medina
To give us a break from the daily grind…
Another American Idol contestant you should know about. He’s Chris Medina from Oak Forest, IL. Chris keeps his vows even when his fiancee’s quality of life takes an irreparable turn for the worst. Chris is an excellent example of someone who believes in and perseveres for the the sanctity of human life.
Email LauraLoo with your Lunch Break suggestions.

Umm….I think I got something in my eye…:)
Chris Medina – What a generous heart and a beautiful soul!
God bless you, Chris Medina!! Oh and Steven Tyler? You made me cry harder.
(Not to start anything but I can’t help compare Chris to Michael Schiavo)
Beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
“What kind of guy would I be if I walked out when she needed me the most?”
Beautiful! Thanks for sharing!

It’s another traumatic brain injury story, wedding, plus awesome commitment. Reverse the gender roles in this one, though.
TS
I hope he goes at least as far as Danny Gokey, who lost his wife before going on Idol, and was one of my favorites.
I am such a cynic and skeptic.
Did the American Idol producers exploit tragedy for ratings?
But Chris Medina and Paris Tassin can both sing some wee liddle bit.
I have to believe this is a GOD thing.
Reminds me of ‘Chriots of Fire’.
Did the producers of that movie deliberately give honor to God or were they just trying to make a profitable film?
“For the rest, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of reverence and is honorable and seemly, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely and lovable, whatever is kind and winsome and gracious, if there is any virtue and excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think on and weigh and take account of these things [fix your minds on them].
Practice what you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, and model your way of living on it, and the God of peace (of untroubled, undisturbed well-being) will be with you.”
My bro ken,
Tens of thousands try out. Some have to be not only diamonds in the rough, but also have heart-tugging human interest stories.
yor bro ken, I don’t know about you but I am STARVED for beautiful and inspiring stories in the media. Where I live in the “Chicagoland” area (Hans, LOL), I hear so much corruption and folly that it does my soul good to see and hear something like this. And if it brings in better ratings for Fox32, then good for them. LL
laura loo,
The human interest spect aside, Paris Tassin and Chris Medina can sing.
Just love it that folks who honor God and value human life are provided with a platfrom to showcase both their musical talents and their values.
JaLo and Steven Tyler can sing as well, but I do not see them as front men for the defenseless.
non-sequitur alert;
I read in the news that there are so many murders in Chicago the bodies are being double stacked at the county morgue.
As expected Mayor wannbee Rahm Immanuel predicted a record voter turnout in the upcoming elections.
I also noticed that the president called Immanuel and congratulated Rahm on his at least temporary success at skirting the residency requirements.
From one imposter and interloper to another.

I am such a cynic and skeptic.
I don’t think so. You just repeat what you hear on Hannity, Savage, Rush, and Levine.
yor bro ken – Yes, from one imposter and interloper to another.
I didn’t even touch on all the Chicagoland murders and how children in the city cannot sit in their homes, on their own porches, walk their streets, or go to and from school without bullets flying from gangbangers.
We’re also fortunate to have Governor “Quinnochio” who raised our state income tax 66%.
And if the IL Supreme Court cannot intelligently define what a resident is, we have no hope. We are the laughing stock of the country. The only folks probably cheering that decision are the police/fire professionals who as of today must live within the boundaries of Chicago instead of the safer suburbs.
Hey Yor Bro Ken – yes, they prabably did, but I am almost OK with it.
What a diference from the sadness that was the Tricia Duguay situation. Way to go, Chris Medina. Already a winner, regardless of where he goes on the show.
That was magnificent… a man of love and honour. Chris, one fellow warrior salutes you!
*probably* *difference* (sorry in advance for any others I missed!)
I absolutely adored this story. I’m not usually one for “sob stories” because, at the end of the day, these are talent competitions and people should be put through based on their talent (mainly) and not by what has happened to them (not to say that I don’t feel for most of them). However, that being said, this story was so awesome and definitely made me cry … multiple times…
Carla, I agree.. Steven Tyler made me cry even more!!! Lol.

Hal,
From your comment would it be reasonable to conclude that you are now monitoring conservative commentators on TV, radio and the internet? That must very painful for a liberal/progressive. I hope it qualifies you for some kind of hazardous duty pay.
Or are you just taking a stab in the dark and presuming I am one who also monitors conservative commentators?
You left out Newsbusters. That’s where I heard the joke about Rahm Immanuel predicting a record voter tunout in the next election upon hearing there were double stacking corpses in Chicago morgue.
I have to confess I do NOT listen to Michael Savage.
Rush Limbaugh airs from 11am cst to 2pm cst. Sean Hannity is on from 2pm to 5 pm cst and Mark Levine is on from 5pm cst to? All air on locally on WBAP 820 AM radio.
I seldom get the oppotunity to listen to Rush Limbaugh. His prorgam airs during the middle of the day and I am ususally working. Sean Hannity airs in the afternoon and alas, again, I am usually working, tho I do sometimes catch Hannity for my thirty minute drive home. Levine comes on from 5 to 7 or 8, but I am seldom driving when he is on the air.
hal,
Just what exactly is your point? Help me, please. I only have a high school diploma.
