• Michael New has a new study on the effects pro-life legislation has on abortion rates and ratios.
• Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell has signed legislation to step up regulations on abortion clinics:

  The law requires clinics that offer 1st-trimester abortions to meet the same health standards required of hospitals.

  The state Dept. of Health now has to decide how that standard will be applied to the 21 clinics currently operating in the state. Changes may include widening hallways, giving staff more training, and purchasing new equipment. Detailed regulations must be delivered by Sept. 15, and will go into effect Jan. 1 next year.

• NARAL threw their annual “Power for Choice” luncheon with speakers Nancy Pelosi and Congresswoman Jackie Speier. The end of the article has this from a local Planned Parenthood rep. who changes PP’s 3% statistic to 2% and falsely claims “visits,” not services:

  Heather Estes, who heads the PP Shasta Pacific-Mill Valley Health Center, said as many as 1 in 5 American women have used the services of PP at some point in their life. Just 2% of the visits of clients and patients of the organization are for abortion-related services, she said, and none of the federal money the organization receives goes to abortion services.

• A WI public library cancelled a showing of the pro-life movie Blood Money after pro-aborts planned to protest the showing of the film.
