Kim is the furthest thing from being a woman with old-fashioned relationship values. She’s the one with the famous porn video, as well as bedding every man she becomes involved with.
Furthermore, if Kim wants to be a ‘pretend’ old-fashioned mom this year, she would have to be planning her wedding now - to a guy named Kris that she’s been with for a couple of months.
Finally, Kim would need to overhaul her entire life and put aside the diva/fashionista Type-A traits she is known for to become that old-fashioned wife and mommy. Don’t hold your breath! It’s one thing to want to be something and another thing to actually do it for the next 20 years. She’d be whining in no time if she had to actually be a hands-on mommy with no staff support within the first week.
Maybe this is a stupid question but just WHO are the Kardashians and what have they done that makes them celebrities??
See, there’s that line again that’s so full of SELF and makes children sound like property, or a status symbol, something purely subjective to the parent’s whim:
“She wants one of her own.”
Children are not our own! They belong to God and they are GIFTS. We don’t own them or have power over them. They are souls created by God, entrusted to us to care for. We have no “rights” that supercede their sacred lives. This is where abortion thinking begins, that children are “our own” and if we don’t want them at the moment, we have the right to destroy them because they’re “ours.” Like property.
This is why God ordained the family, father and mother, to be the foundation on which children are raised. They are gifts to be welcomed and respected, not treated like a prize or an intrusive burden.

Jen, I don’t mean to be disrespectful, but this line to me does not really strike me as selfish. It simply means having your own child. Not someone elses. I love my child dearly and though he is my own flesh and blood, I do think he is a gift from God and I will treasure him forever.

Laura Loo, how do you know she’s “bedding every man she becomes involved with”? Are you there? As for the porn video, that was a few years ago now, and people can change a lot in a few years. If she wants romance, marriage and kids, shouldn’t we be happy to hear that instead of deriding her?
Carla: Sadly, yes, that’s their first claim to fame. That, and Kim’s mom is married to Bruce Jenner.
They own a boutique. The mom is very commercial about her daughters. She urged them to each appear in Playboy, which to me is mind-boggling. OTOH, they went from average rich LA girls, to wealthy media players with athlete husbands. It’s all very Collette, Los Angeles version.
They do reality shows and magazine cover modelling. It does take personal discipline to do that. You might not like the beast, but they are good at what they do. They can’t be on then off and go live in sweatpants and eat ice cream, or do a cover shoot and then go take drugs. They are always on, and they have lived with an intrusive camera crew for years, without completely losing it, or going overboard like Jon and Kate.
Not gonna lie, Kim has a beautiful face. She’s much better-looking as a dark-haired beauty than blonde.
although, really, I think it’s somewhat like the middle european courts right before world war I. Women of wealth, position and power, jockeying for more, were feted as great beauties, even, esp if they were sexual adventurers. And, well, nobody is going mad for the odd mistresses of various feckless nobles, or buying their portraits, or being swept away by their descendants. The descendanst usually look short and overstuffed, at least when they get photographed by Vanity Fair, or that sort of thing.

Not trying to sound b**chy, but if we had A-list hairdressers and makeup artists at our disposal 24-7, we’d all clean up pretty nicely.

Marauder – I’ve actually caught quite a few episodes of the show and the spinoffs (yes I like my mindless E! and yes I’m duly ashamed). She sleeps with everyone she becomes involved with beyond a date or two. She all but has sex on camera so if she’s changed from the home porn days, she certainly doesn’t want the public to think so. I think she puts out exactly the image she wants out.
Having said that, I actually do think she’s a sweet girl who does want lasting relationships. It’s a testament to how whacked our values are that she thinks her way of going about things is old fashioned or productive.
