by LauraLoo
Would you want to win this “big deal” dinner and, if so, would you have an agenda to bring Barack and Joe?

1) As my father says: “Not ‘no’, but ‘heck, no!’…!” (I cleaned it up a bit, for polite company.)
2) n/a
Yes, it would be amazing to meet Obama!
I would tell him to keep fighting the good fight and that I wish he would just do more for gay rights
Hmmm.
I would have too much to say to eat. I don’t think Obama and Biden would want to have dinner with ME!!!!
Jane, you seriously couldn’t show yourself to be more of a troll if you tried. Seriously: aside from trying to goad members of this board, what did you expect to accomplish with that phrase?
Troll Protocol #2: identify the things which the current board members and founders hate the most, then sing their praises in adoring, gushy, bald-faced obsequiousness, using language calculated to annoy the greatest number of opponents.
Have you heard of the blog, “RH Reality Check”? Not that I wish to increase their traffic, but: I really do think you’d find kindred spirits, there. (I’d say “find solace there”, as well, but abortion-tolerant blogs usually aren’t known for serenity or solace.)
Palladin- you are obsessed with me being a troll! I’m not a troll; this is a subject I’m interested in, and I enjoy discussing things on this forum.
I also enjoy rh reality check- I believe in hearing both sides of the issue
Mm-hmm. This must be some rare, idiomatic usage of the word “discussing” of which I was not previously aware. You’re on the record as saying that you’re here (on this forum) for the sole purpose of “venting” at those with whom you disagree; I really don’t like being put in the position of calling you a liar, but you’re making it quite difficult to avoid, as of late. Your style of “discussion” involves nothing more than the automatic gain-saying of any pro-life, pro-Christian theme which appears in text, and the lionizing of anything which you think would best revile/condemn the same. That, friend, is not the canonical (or any commonly accepted) definition of “discussion” (which involves at least a modicum of rational engagement of the issues, and a modicum of ability to trace out logical points and implications, rather than simply recycling thread-bare, hide-bound rants and canards which have been asked and answered interminably, already). I’ll pass over the relevant issue of “manners”, for reasons which should, to the discerning reader, be obvious.
I’d love to have dinner with the President. What a fascinating opportunity. I’d have a few issues I’d lobby him on, but mostly I’d keep it social.
Carla, dinner with you and your family would be a blast too!
:) See? Now (pardon me for pointing you out, Hal), that was balanced and non-inflammatory! Jane, take notes!
Hal,
Dinner with us should be on AFV. It’s mayhem.
Consider yourself invited!
My husband and I could go out for a nice, quiet dinner while you got to know the cherubs. heh
I’m not sure what I did wrong, paladin. A question was asked and I answered it honestly- yes I would love to meet the president, and I would tell him that I didnt think he was doing enough for gay rights
I am going with…no. I really don’t like politicians, I wouldn’t have anything positive or polite to say.
I find this completely offensive – the office is being used not for all the people, but for personal gain – Obama’s campaign, at the expense of the people.
Any kind of campaigning by a seated government executive should include no less than 50% of having to listen to the people – otherwise it’s outright stealing of the office he was elected to serve.
HONK IF I’M PAYING YOUR MORTGAGE!
IT’S THE ECONOMY, STUPID!
ARE YOU BETTER OFF THAN YOU WERE THREE YEARS AGO?
LET’S TALK GAS PRICES!
ALL GREAT ICE BREAKERS IF I WIN!
I don’t know if ‘agenda’ is the right word. But it would be an honor to dine with POTUS.
I would advise him to stand his ground and not let the far right continue to make the rich richer and the poor poorer.
I would also urge him to allow gay rights to proceed in all areas.
And we might have a bit of a giggle over people like Bachmann.
I’d only dine with them if I could watch Barry eat humble pie with a side order of crow. His arrogance is one of his least admirable qualities.
Oh. Gee. Can I bring a barf bag to dinner?
I actually replied on their Twitter. I would never have the stomach to actually eat anything at a BO JB dinner, but I would go and be polite just long enough to shake BO’s hand and tell him I’m praying that he’ll give up his pro-death policies.
What makes you think of him as arrogant ninek?
I think I’d like to ask pro-abort Catholic Joe what he and the Pope talked about during their recent visit. That would be a socially awkward moment to remember.
What makes YOU think he isn’t?
Um well I’d love to but I don’t think they’d enjoy it much. ;)
Come come ninek, you said “His arrogance is one of his least admirable qualities”, indicating that you feel it to be a major trait. I’m wondering on what basis you believe this to be the case.
I’d ask him if all these $30,000- a - plate dinners had raised his pay grade enough to know whether or not he should invite over a million new guests to the table this year.
He quoted Biden as saying “That’s a big deal”? The Messiah Most Miserable can’t even be honest about that! If anyone has forgotten, recall the Obamacare announcement. At any rate, I’d have to bring a bottle of Kaopectate – for them, not me, because after I was through with them, they’d be quite ill to their stomachs! Come to think of it, maybe I should bring some Exedrin for their impending headaches, too.
Reality: Obama as arrogant narcissist has been abuzz in the blogosphere for a couple years, and it broke into the mainstream media in late 2010.
Feigning incredulity that anyone might think Obama arrogant suggests you’re out of touch. Either that or you have some reason to interrogate others on something you’re already aware of…
“Obama as arrogant narcissist has been abuzz in the blogosphere for a couple years, and it broke into the mainstream media in late 2010.”
Ah, yes, let’s talk about how that got started.
This, from the conservative “American Thinker,” September 28, 2008:
“In reference to Obama’s narcissism, Charles Krauthammer asks, “[H]as there ever been a presidential nominee with a wider gap between his estimation of himself and the sum total of his lifetime achievements?” Sam Vaknin, Ph.D., author of Malignant Self Love: Narcissism Revisited, writes that “Barack Obama appears to be a narcissist,” and offers a detailed explanation.”
Yes, Sam Vaknin, self-described expert on narcissism, convicted on three counts of stock fraud in 1995, fined, and sentenced to prison. Oh, and by the way, Vaknin was diagnosed by a real psychiatrist as being a narcissist.
The term “arrogant narcissist” is simply a code term for “uppity black guy.”
Vaknin was diagnosed by a real psychiatrist as being a narcissist.
Takes one to know one.
No one here is talking about Obama’s race but you, mp.
When you write 3 autobiographies about yourself, you (obviously) have a problem, no matter what color you are.
“When you write 3 autobiographies about yourself, you (obviously) have a problem, no matter what color you are.”
I’m going to ignore your personal attack and say only this: you don’t know my position on “abortion,” just as you don’t know my position on “the pro-life movement.”
I’ve not revealed my position to anyone on this site. You might attempt to determine my positions by implication, or by inference, but YOU DON’T KNOW.
Having said that, I’ll reveal this for the first and only time: there are things to be admired about the pro-life movement. I’ll say nothing more because the problem is this: you folks are politically toxic. The reason you’re toxic is because you insist on referring to people like Sam Vaknin, Glenn Beck and Michael Savage, who was linked here just a few days ago, simply because they agree with you.
In the “mainstream,” which seems despised here in spite of the fact that it exists and reflects a consensus, people like Vaknin, Beck and Savage are considered radicals and fools, muckrakers who make a very good living by agitating people like you.
So, no, sorry, I’ll not get within ten miles of that and it’s unfortunate. Folks like you have left folks like me with nowhere to go.
Finally, even though it’s totally pointless for me to bring it up, I did not write 3 different autobiographies of myself. You either dreamed that up all on your own, or you’re confusing me with someone else.
I was talking about Barrak Obama. HE wrote no less than 3 autobiographies. The man is a narcissist no matter what color he is, and insinuating that we are racist for pointing that out is either ignorance or a calculated deflection of the issue at hand.
No where did I attack you personally in my former statement, by the way, so I don’t know what you’re talking about there.
I don’t really care about your political leanings or your position on abortion as it stands right now, because I was just addressing your comment of:
The term “arrogant narcissist” is simply a code term for “uppity black guy.”
Because I’m personally offended at being labeled a racist in a knee-jerk reaction to pointing out the POTUS’ glaring shortcoming(s).
So no justifiable basis for your claim then ninek.
Maybe in certain predictably reactionary parts of the media rasqual, not anywhere of any integrity.
Good grief, Reality, that opinion of Obama has been migrating consistently leftward.
How widely read are you?
Meanwhile, you generalize about pro-lifers as if we’re all Glen Beck fans — or whatever.
Isn’t it funny, Reality, that you play the “you don’t know me” game here but are so, so willing to generalize about everyone else? That’s called special pleading.
“not anywhere of any integrity” — meaning, of course, sources who wouldn’t think to call Obama arrogant.
“uppity”
Good grief. That’s supposed to scare people, I guess. “Oooh, they’ll think I’m racist — I better not criticize the black guy.”
LOL
THREE. AUTOBIOGRAPHIES. THREE.
That is all.
Still no justifiable basis for claims of obama being arrogant then.
Three autobiographies.? Name them.
(*ahem*) Rasqual, Xalisae… do I need to bring out my sign again? And no, I don’t care if the troll followed you home; you can’t keep him!
Still waiting.
What makes you claim that obama is so arrogant?
What are the titles of his three autobiographies?
If you are so right these should be simple questions to answer.
If he is so humble, then YOU should have no problem stating when and where his examples of humility were evident.
And you know what, kids, every once in a while, when people don’t like someone, it isn’t because of the color of their skin.
His three bio’s, really Reality? Does your computer only go to Jill’s site or have you never heard of Amazon.com?
“Letters to my daughters instructing them to abort my grandchildren if they are ever so burdened or punished.”
“The Audacity of wanting to destroy all Hope for the unborn”
“Dreams of the Father who left my Mother to raise me, too bad I didn’t appreciate her enough to write a book about HER.”
There, that should help you get on with your summer reading.
No, YOU stated that you found him arrogant. I do not find him arrogant. So I ask what it is that causes you to find him arrogant. Why such reticence?
I have been unable to find any books with the titles you gave. By any authors.
I did find some with roughly similar titles, all by obama.
They are ‘Audacity of Hope’, ‘Dreams from my Father’ and ‘Of Thee I sing: A Letter to my Daughters’.
I have had a good look and everything indicates that one of these is an autobiography. ONE! One of the others in fact seems to be short biographies of other people! The third describes his reasons for his view on certain topics.
So where are the “THREE. AUTOBIOGRAPHIES. THREE.”?
(*sigh*) Reality, are there no other bridges, where you live? You really need to haunt Jill’s?
What’s the matter Paladin, don’t like it when someone with a different viewpoint to yours asks people to substantiate what they’ve said?
All I’ve done is ask ninek why she finds obama arrogant, because I don’t see what would make him so.
And xalisae claimed that a reason for denigrating obama is that he has three autobiographies. I can only find one so I’m wondering what the others are called.
This isn’t exactly heavy or complex stuff.
i’d rather eat Digorno pizza (which I HATE with a passion) than dine with a pro abortion president that thinks allowing babies that SURVIVE abortion, that are BORN ALIVE during an abortion, TO DIE because mom wanted the baby to DIE, is just fine and dandy.
I bet he wouldn’t like my tshirt I would wear, it would be the pro life tshirt week one that says Growing, Growing, GONE, when describing the fate of a preborn baby in abortion.
So is that a yes or a no to dining with obama Liz?
