Come now Alexander – “like a human” ???
You’re in awe – but at the same time, you don’t want to go where the evidence leads – do you?
Divinity?
Why the jump from 12 weeks to 8 months? I understand time constraints, but why skip from 12 weeks…?
Also the ovum has ceased to exist – it’s no longer an ovum at all. To call it a fertilized ovum is misleading, and disparages the equal role the sperm is playing in the development.
Chris, do think Alexander is pro-life? In the video, there is one label that made me think he might be.
“Baby’s first division..”
Tyler – I saw that and thought – at last – someone who has the technical chops, the evidence and the conviction to lay out the reality of human life at conception to a TED audience. But then he began to couch his language. By the end, the only conclusion I could draw is that the “baby” at conception is a nod to what is to come and not what actually is, particularly when he says later “like a human”.
You have to remember – there is always a dichotomy between wanted and unwanted when it comes to “choice”, and given the factual basis he was displaying
Now granted, the explosive growth during the first 8 weeks is exciting, as well as the delivery, so perhaps we’re seeing an edited version of a much longer video, put together for a brief display.
If he is pro-life, I’m disappointed he kept saying “magic” as opposed to “miracle”.

Thank you! I LOVE this video ever since I first saw it a few weeks ago. I love how this obviously educated scientist comes so close to acknowledging there is no way we “just happened” that the way the brain folds and the way the heart develops and the way everything remarkably comes together in such a way (such as the collagen which takes a different form in the eye so that we can SEE)… we have a loving and knowledgeable Creator! He designed us in His image and He is intimately involved with each one of us. He loves us. He knit us together in our mother’s wombs.
When I watch this video I just want to fall on my face and worship God and thank Him for creating me!
I too saw this a few weeks ago on Beck’s site. It’s amazing how we thought landing on the moon was an example of programming genius. But it pales in comparison to the programming genius that goes on quadrillions of times a day in all life forms.
And in none more so than humans. How can you be anything but pro-life – whether that you believe that Programmer is God or blind luck?
