Comedienne thinks before-and-after abortion photos are funny
Got a quickie aborsh in case R v W gets overturned.
~ Comedienne Sarah Silverman, tweeting a hoax before-and-after abortion photo, as reported by The Daily Mail, April 13
[HT: Gateway Pundit]

The Daily Mail is a tabloid with little journalistic respect. So using their wording of “hoax” seems pretty disingenuous. Silverman may have been making a (bad) joke, but it wasn’t a hoax.
looks like a rather good anti-abortion ‘ad’ to me. You have a smiling couple cuddled together taking a picture of a baby bump, the woman’s hand tenderly cupping her baby. Happy, together, beautiful, making eye contact with the camera. Then you have a depressed and despondant woman by herself, her one hand flat against her chest (recognized as a gesture of fear) and her other hand palm up, empty in a classic hesture of suplication, eyes adverted from the camera.
Almost nobody would recognize the 2nd picture as ‘good’ subconsciously or immediately. It certainly might be incredibly crass, given the tagline, but i’d rather an abortion-minded woman see this set of pictures than the usual huddled ‘i have nothing’ depressed woman who just found out she’s pregnant single photo usually see in pro-abort stuff.
Yea..’cause abortion is such a HUMOROUS topic. Funny, Sarah…NOT!
Of course, this is the same person who thought it would be “funny” to eat dog excrement! She has a really sick mind.
Interesting points, Jespren. Where’s dad in the second one? Abortion destroys some 75% of relationships between the parents of the aborted child.
The huddled “I have nothing” depressed woman would be better used to represent women who have just had abortions.
And oh, Sarah, there are two bodies involved here, so don’t forget the before and after pictures of the baby. These are the ones that, if seen in time, save lives, of women and children.
That’s why the proaborts hate them so.
Sarah Silverman continues the tradition of making up for lack of talent with shock value.
It seems to me that more and more proaborts are going off the deep end…….
Sarah Silverman has always been the female Daniel Tosh… In that they both base their acts on being as absolutely offensive as possible. I don’t know all that many people who think she is even funny. Maybe if everyone ignored her she will just go away.
I miss when the days when comedians were actually funny instead now we have Silverman, Maher, Joyless Behar, John Fugelwhatever and Kathy Griffin as ‘comedians.’
We need something like “The top 10 pro life messages from the pro abortion movement”
“They know not what they do” is the motto of the human race.
The pro-life blog Big Blue Wave wrote on this story:
“Abortion jokes are so 1990s. I mean it’s not even cutting edge any more”
I totally agree. It is not even shock value. It’s just kind of desperate and boring.
Just heard missy Sarah say:
I just got a new diaphram…. Well, it was new to me.
Sad almost scared look on second woman’s face and is that blood on her hand?
Sarah Silverman can be a bit “edgy.” But she led the “great schlep” which was her media effort to send Jewish young folks down to see their relatives in Florida in order to talk up Barack Obama. He won Florida with the help of those Jewish folks that you pro-lifers aren’t very fond of – be honest now!!! Not only did they reject your “Messiah” but the majority of them are pro-choice. They also don’t like Shoah/abortion comparisons either.
CC, get a new script already. I seriously have never heard anyone on this blog talk about Jewish people except for you.
“CC, get a new script already. I seriously have never heard anyone on this blog talk about Jewish people except for you”
And how many Jewish folks post comments here? Pro-choice Jews probably don’t even know about this site. While you live in your little exclusive world of mostly Christian pro-life sentiment, there’s a whole other world, that doesn’t agree with you, out there. I’m just bringing you a reality check about how your abortion = Shoah comparison is very offensive to Jews who are, sorry, very pro-choice. But I do love the comments as they underscore what seems to be a deep antisemitism on the part of the pro-life movement who need to denounce other faith traditions that don’t agree with them. For Jews, it’s nothing new.
CC, are you serious!? YOU of all people are complaining about people denouncing faith traditions you do not agree with? For what its worth I’m an atheist and prolife.
CC, are you serious!? YOU of all people are complaining about people denouncing faith traditions you do not agree with
I have as much problem with the Jewish god as I do the Christian and Muslim god. But I don’t claim to have the “true” faith,vis-a-vis abortion, as you people do. And I’m also aware of religious sensitivities especially with regard to the
Shoah. There is no equivalency in the Christian world. That your movement doesn’t seem to care about Jewish feelings says so much about where you’re coming from. I believe Abe Foxman, a Holocaust survivor, addressed the issue about which you-don’t-care. Am I right?
“While you live in your little exclusive world of mostly Christian pro-life sentiment, there’s a whole other world, that doesn’t agree with you, out there.”
Lol, I totally didn’t realize half the US was pro-choice. Good to know, thank you for showing me the error of my ways.
“I’m just bringing you a reality check about how your abortion = Shoah comparison is very offensive to Jews who are, sorry, very pro-choice.”
Probably why I never make Abortion=Shoah comparisons, I think they logically fail personally. And it seems like no one on this thread did make any of those comparisons. Why is Ms Silverman’s ethnicity the only important thing about her, in your eyes?
“But I do love the comments as they underscore what seems to be a deep antisemitism on the part of the pro-life movement who need to denounce other faith traditions that don’t agree with them. For Jews, it’s nothing new.”
WHO DENOUNCED ANYTHING ABOUT JUDAISM??? You are being deliberately obtuse if you didn’t understand that I meant that I have never heard anyone speak negatively of Jews, since you claimed that everyone is anti-Semitic. And since when do you give a crap if anyone’s faith tradition is respected? Or is it only Christianity you think needs to be denounced at every opportunity? This coming from yet another non-Christian, it gets old, and your faux indignation that the Christians on this board don’t somehow follow the tenents of judaism is getting really freaking old.
cc, the college educated progressive said it here folks: The Jews, Muslims, and Christians worship different gods! Who knew?! I don’t think Muhammed (pbuh), Moses, and Jesus were aware of that. Gosh, they all thought there was only one. cc, can you believe it, you’re smarter than all three! Wow! Readers, here it is again in case you missed it:
I have as much problem with the Jewish god as I do the Christian and Muslim god.
Well, cc, the one and only living God has a problem with you: you keep helping families kill the children that he created.
Sarah Silverman is a notorius pig.
Sarah Silverman: SCUMEDIENNE extraordinaire.
What a pathetic vile person she is.
“quickie aborsh” is just offensive to all … prolifers and also women who have had abortions. Most people in this country, save the few who rabidly support abortion and “embrace it,” agree that abortion is not a desirable situation, that it’s a big decision, that it is lifechanging. Way to support women, Sarah.
How do YOU know on this board who is Jewish, CC? You don’t know the background of everyone on here. NEWS FLASH: a TRUE Christian LOVES the Jewish people. God chose one of THEM to give birth to HIS SON…who was raised JEWISH.
My (maiden) last name is a JEWISH last name, CC.
BTW no..Jews and Christians worship the SAME God, hence the term ” Judeo/Christian”.
“Or is it only Christianity you think needs to be denounced at every opportunity?”
Ding ding ding, Jack. You have hit the CC on the head.
“It gets old, and your faux indignation that the Christians on this board don’t somehow follow the tenents of judaism is getting really freaking old.”
Getting? lol.
Pro-“choice” Jews finding Shoah/abortion comparisons offensive.
Stockholm’s much?
Come on, people, many of you complain about political correctness gone mad. But when it affects you, let the whining begin.
If you love something, set it free. If it comes back to you-Stockholm Syndrome.
LOL
Histrionics about the Shoa don’t really impress me. The abortion holocaust in the U.S. alone is at least an order of magnitude more consequential, by the numbers. Comparisons are inevitable wherever pro-choicers shrug, because shrugging off the humanity of Jews (and others) is the point of comparison, and the numbers are evidence that the comparison has merit. It’s a question of what kind of people lead to what kind of consequences. Answer? Same kind. Offensive? As offensive as many Germans were defensive after the war.
It’s not about Jews. It’s about their killers. Their zealous, pridefully civic-minded killers.
Fighting straw people and windmills is what gets some abortion advocates out of bed in the morning.
cc, who despises all religion except the religion of abortion, sets up a windmill called “you hate pro-choice Jews” and fights against it. It must be lonely, but there is one little Sancho that’s as equally deluded. Enjoy your fake battle, cc, while we fight the real war against babies and motherhood by defending women against coerced abortion and helping women who need our help at CPCs.
CC. GET SOME NEW TALKING POINTS. NOW.
Or just go away.
I’m going to unpack a bit better what my last paragraph above intends. When I say the Shoa isn’t about Jews, I mean this: were it not for the holocaust’s perpetrators, no one would be thinking about the Jews thus. They were victims (indeed) because what was evil was taken as a Good Thing by many Germans.
But focusing on the victims is not how we avoid historical repeats (“never again”). This isn’t in the least about pity for Jewish survivors. It’s an entirely separate issue. And we don’t resist tyrannical and inhuman ideologies and acts because of memory of the Jews. We resist because it doesn’t matter WHO the victim is — evil must be opposed no matter who the victims are. And evil with the authority of big government backing it is more consequential because it can leverage the coercive power of law and bureaucratic institutions to its vile ends.
Basically, “get out of the way, sentiment regarding Jews in the LAST instance of evil run amok — we’re too busy addressing that same evil in a different form to be concerned with your sense that the last instance is so sacrosanct that memory of its victims is more important than vigilance regarding its reincarnations in the present and future.”
Some people take “never again” as some inevitability. Probably progressives who deem the future so perfectable that they can’t see their own horrific demons for what they are.
“Enjoy your fake battle, cc, while we fight the real war against babies and motherhood by defending women against coerced abortion and helping women who need our help at CPCs”
Enjoy fighting your battle without the support of Jews because your movement is seen, and with good reason, as antisemitic. Yes, judging from the comments I’ve seen on this blog, you do hate pro-choice Jews because they don’t accept your message and, for some of you, your “Messiah.” I’ve seen a lot of offensive “pro-life” comments but the one about pro-choice Jews having “Stockholm Syndrome” is great. Thanks for the screen grab. It already has been tweeted and facebooked.
OOOOOh. CC if getting weeery scwawy.
cc writes: “Yes, judging from the comments I’ve seen on this blog, you..”
This sentence is a lame attempt to deflect since you have no proof that anyone here hates anyone else. We don’t even hate YOU, cc, and you see posted here that several people have prayed for YOU. Not prayed for your demise, mind you, but for your HEALING.
We don’t NEED our adversaries to agree with us. There are plenty of Orthodox Jewish people who ARE pro-life, and we have a diverse set of allies: pagan pro-lifers, feminist pro-lifers, atheist pro-lifers, etc. etc. I am also very confident that as more and more mothers (and fathers) heal from the aftermath of their own abortions, our numbers will continue to grow and grow.
Your numbers are shrinking. Abortion advocates are aging out. Medical students don’t want to learn the procedure. The next generation is more pro-life than ever. So swing away at your windmills, cc! Swing away!
“Your numbers are shrinking. Abortion advocates are aging out. Medical students don’t want to learn the procedure”
Wrong on all counts but don’t let the truth get in the way of some nice juicy agitprop. And funny, the RI hearing on Karen Macbeth’s sonogram bill brought out many local college students who stood for choice (Brown has a very pro-choice student community) as they are doing with Planned Parenthood. And btw, the Jewish Orthodox community is a minority. The majority of American Jews are pro-choice and stand with Planned Parenthood.
So Ninek, if you’re talking about large areas of this country which are pro-choice, it’s you and your forced birth crazies who are “tilting at windmills.” (But your Planned Parenthood street theater is a source of amusement so keep on trucking…) And until you criminalize abortion (not gonna happen in Lil Rhody) women will still freely (I know these lil gals are all coerced) terminate their pregnancies safely and legally. (Rich women from forced birth states can come to RI and spend a little tourist time in beautiful Newport by the sea)
LOL, CC and her “screen grabs.” Cracks me up! :D
And Ninek – when are you going to post some videos about your awesome efforts to “save babies?” I would love to see you hurling yourself in front of women and wailing about how they’re killing they’re bayybies!!! C’mon, it could be Oscar worthy.
LOL, CC and her “screen grabs.” Cracks me u
Glad you’re amused. Unfortunately for you, those who get these screen grabs are just further motivated to stand up for choice. BTW, the Jewish women who see these aren’t really amused.
CC, you can try to turn this into a anti-Semitic rant if you like. But none of us will wall for your race-baiting. If we would have our way (no killing), fewer Jews would die today than if you had your way ( babies are killed, aome are Jewish, therefore Jews die.) So go take your Jesse Jackson-AlSharpton schtick and get some NEW TALKING POINTS.
We get the win because we get the LIFE.
The sheer glee with which CC anticipates an increase in R.I. abortion business showcases the irony of her high dudgeon regarding due respect of the Holocaust.
CC, your level of scorn and contempt for those who begin with the premise that human life is sacred in the womb, is incredible. The premise itself is hardly vile. The logic of that premise’s implications is not unsound. The consequences of the pro-life view you disagree with so ardently because you reject the fundamental premise.
It is your rejection of the premise that human life in the womb is valuable that pro-lifers take issue with. It is that rejection which rationalizes the death of millions annually from abortion.
I think every pro-lifer here wants every unborn Jewish child to be born alive and well cared for by its parents. If that’s antisemitic, what do we call those who are utterly indifferent to the deaths of unborn Jews? Or those who cheer new Jewish customers at R.I. abortion clinics?
Where is the warpage, CC? Where is the twistedness in your crooked timber up in them parts?
Wow, what happens at the bottom of the barrel? Read cc’s comments to find out.
You won’t see any videos of me hurling myself, but I guess it’s possible for some onlooker to video me talking quietly. It would be kind of boring. But, it is odd that you so very much want to see a pro-lifer acting in a theatrical manner. It says a lot about you as a person.
If you want to see what I look like, google video of the Marches for Life, 2010, 2011, and 2012. I’m easy to recognize: I have a huge smile on my face, I’m wearing sneakers, and holding a bottle of water. Oh, wait, we all look like that!
LOL!
My favorite “save” is growing so fast. You know what cc? She smiled, cooed, and reached for me the first time I saw her. She still smiles and giggles when she sees me. Maybe her mommy will bring her to one of next year’s Walks. She’d melt even your stony heart.
Rasqual, excellent comments!
“I think every pro-lifer here wants every unborn Jewish child to be born alive and well cared for by its parents.”
Too bad for you that the vast majority of Americans Jews don’t agree with you!
Vast majority, ah what a useless phrase. Statistics, cc, proof, cc! I’m not buying any ‘vast majority’ generalization without seeing some kind of back up.
But, what you are saying is that YOU think that most American Jews do NOT want every Jewish unborn child to be born alive and well. I can’t imagine that your vast network of Jewish friends finds that agreeable. How can you even type a comment like that while accusing pro-lifers of anti-Semitism? Disconnect, thy initials are cc.
Ok, the other commentors have convinced me that you and Joan are not the same person. However, now, I need someone to convince me that cc isn’t a badly informed pro-lifer trying to make pro-choicers look as bad as possible.
CC: “Too bad for you…”
Is it really just a personal war between you and pro-lifers, CC? Why would whether it’s good or bad for me be at all at issue? At that, such a phrase seems more likely the product of an immature mind. Do your grandchildren post in your name? Not trying to denigrate; I sincerely can’t imagine someone your age using such a phrase.
But that’s also lame as counterpoint to my utterly simple refutation (didn’t have to think 4 seconds about it) of your charge of antisemitism. You’re not unintelligent. Look what your commitment to hold pro-lifers in thoroughgoing contempt does to your mind’s capacity to interact wisely with others.
If your heirs are indeed posting on your computer with the cookie preserving your credentials, on substance if not style they’ve learned all too well from you. It’s a shame you were not effective at teaching them more good.
CC: “And how many Jewish folks post comments here?”
“Non-Jewish” does not equal “anti-Jewish.”
So sod off.
“btw, the Jewish woman who see these aren’t really amused”
And your point would be? I don’t think anyone here but you would think of genocide or Stockholm’s as funny. But yeah, survivors taking on the bad traits, especially, of their captors, tormentors…that is what Stockholm’s does. No, it isn’t funny; but thanks for spreading the word; maybe, just maybe, some of your readers will, in privacy, screw up the courage to take their hearts and look them in the face. In spite of you.
