Huckabee: The only evangelical on the ticket supports infanticide
I want to clear the air about something that has been said. People wonder whether guys like me, an evangelical, would only support a fellow evangelical?
Well my friends I want to tell you something, of the four people on the two tickets, the only self-professed evangelical is Barack Obama. And he supports changing the definition of marriage. Believes that human life is disposable and expendable at any time in the womb, even beyond the womb.
And he tells people of faith that they have to bow their knees to the God of government and violate their faith and conscience in order to comply with what he calls, health care. Friends I know we can do better.

I was so happy when he said that. So was Henry.

Obama calls himself evangelical?

@JDC
Obama calls himself a lot of things, not nearly as many things as others call him but still.

Go get ’em, Mike! He was my choice in ’08 but the Repubs picked the wrong guy and we got McCain. That gave us Obama. Rick Santorum was my choice this time, and I fear we’ve nominated the wrong guy again with Romney. Let’s PRAY it doesn’t give us more Obama. We won’t survive.

I thought Mike’s speech was one of the better speeches of the evening.
Way to stand tall.

I supported Mike Huckabee in the 2008 Republican presidential primary. I still appreciate his voice in the public forum. While I don’t want to be nitpicking I think that Huckabee might have better stated his comment “. . . . of the four people on the two tickets, the only self-professed evangelical is Barack Obama.”
I don’t think that Obama has professed to be an evangelical. I CERTAINLY HOPE THAT OBAMA HAS NOT CARRIED HIS DECEPTION THAT FAR! It was bad enough that Bill Clinton and Al Gore had been members of Southern Baptist churches. I wonder how devout Catholics that hold to the traditional moral teachings of Catholicism can endure the fact that so many leftist and pro-abortion politicians are Catholics in profession? Obama has claimed to be a Christian, sometimes pretends a bit of piousity and sometimes takes Scripture out of context in an attempt to support his positions.
After five years of study and observation of Obama, my own opinion is that he is mostly a secular humanist in his views. Obama has made statements in the past, including his own books, that indicate that his sympathies lie more with Islam than with Christianity. I personally think that his actions indicate that as well. The church that Obama attended in Chicago was affiliated with the United Church of Christ (different from the Churches of Christ/Christian Church). Of the larger denominations with a protestant background, the United Church of Christ, a mostly white denomination, is the most liberal, apostate denomination. Rev. Jeremiah Wright’s church in Chicago was particularly into black liberation theology and shared views with Louis Farrakhan’s Nation of Islam.
Anyway, I am glad that people like Mike Huckabee and Rick Santorum are still given a voice in the Republican party.

Obama can call himself a Big Mac but that doesn’t make him a hamburger. Well, maybe he is, but even so …

He’s a hot dog, that’s for sure. And an Islamophile. But I think he sees his god in the mirror. That’s why his speeches come over so strong. He’s too busy basking in the applause to stumble forward with his next line too soon.

Hans, you’re speaking about someone who you know nothing about. That’s a hateful thing, to accuse a good, Godly ordained man on self-idolatry.
Bask in this: The death knell of death is ringing. No longer are we going to confuse killing children with personal liberation.

I don’t like Hug-a-bee (that’s what my daughter used to call him, and said she would vote for him because his name was “cute”), because he was a toned-down version of the nanny-state soda police crap they have in NY right now. Imagine Jared from Subway being placed in a dictatorial position. :/

Um, is there any way we can have a quote once in awhile from someone who isn’t a conservative Christian white male Republican? (not that there’s anything wrong with that)!

Well, phillymiss, you had Snooki a day or two ago… ;)

Courtnay,
WHOA! MAJOR MISUNDERSTANDING ALERT!
I was picking up on the comment immediately previous to mine, alluding to an Obama / hamburger image. I was calling our soon-to-be-ex-president a hot dog followed by certain accurate (I think) insults.
I like Mike. I watch him every week. I wish he had beaten McCain.
I wish I had been clearer. :(

phillymiss,
I’d like to see a quote a day from Mia Love.

And there are some wonderful rising stars to quote, phillymiss …
Hans Johnson – You beat me to it! I was just going to mention Mia Love. Guess I’ll add the quote for today instead:
“President Obama’s version of America is a divided one — pitting us against each other based on our income level, gender, and social status. His policies have failed! We are not better off than we were 4 years ago, and no rhetoric, bumper sticker, or campaign ad can change that.”
