Hey, women said they could do anything without men so men said ok.
Yeah, well, I think men abdicated their responsibility first. If men would just man and father up, I think abortions would plummet. Women are still the fairer sex in more ways than just looks.
Two comments reflect two views that are likely accurate, but likely incomplete.
The marxists want to separate sex from family and procreation. The social structure of the nuclear family interferes with their desire to have all of us jump up in a revolution against the capitalist system.
When we are all sufficiently self-centered, and are agitated because of all of the ways our “rights” are “oppressed,” we will be ready to rise up in revolution.
To achieve this aim, they need to buy our support and interest. Hence, women need to be “liberated” from the “oppression” of their biologically unique quality of child-bearing. So, we get the idea of “every child a wanted child,” with the unspoken corollary, “we can kill off unwanted children,” which must be allowed to achieve the “every child a wanted child” value.
For men, they buy support by separating sex from procreation and family. The “religious oppression” idea works here, as does the “if it feels good, do it” idea. The state steps in to raise children, so we men are not needed anymore for this.
Instead of us men working to create wealth to care for our own children, directly, we all create wealth which goes to the govt who then raises our children for us.
Resolved of the demands of fatherhood, we are free to be vagabonds and hedonists. As long as the money tree somehow keeps growing leaves / as long as enough of us continue to produce wealth.
Since a number of men drop off of the ‘productive’ roster, the women need to get out there and make up for this lost wealth.
Two-fer: now the capitalist system provides the money to allow everyone to be free of the “oppression” of family and children, and the plight of the working single mom gets trumped up as an evil of capitalism – even though it grew out of marxism.
This did not start with men or women – it would have happened long before this one-time historical influence of marxism. The marxists have appealed to our self-centeredness by masking it as an appeal ot our values – “rights” and “justice.”
As these “progressive” ideas have been marching along to “improve” society, we have more govt-supported death via abortion and euthanasia, more drug-related deaths, more depression, more broken families, more debt, more division in our society, and so on.
It came from somewhere.

Yes because men are sooo welcomed in the abortion decision, women never scream MY BODY MY CHOICE or anything like that, my gosh women can’t be held responsible for anything can they?
It takes two to tango. Don’t get on the dance floor if you don’t trust your partner not to step on your – or someone else’s – toes.
