Kermit Gosnell case: missed opportunity for the Republican party
A lot of conservatives are trying to speak out and are rhetorically asking, “Why isn’t the media covering this?” Well, if we had more Republicans who are actually ready to defend the first God-given right of life, we wouldn’t need the left-wing media to say anything.
We’d have it covered.
Thanks, Republicans, who don’t have the guts to defend life. You dropped the ball, again, when you had a chance to kneecap liberals.
~ Pro-life political observer Alfonzo Rachel chiding the Republican Party for missing the opportunity to use the Kermit Gosnell case to expose the truth about liberalism, via PJTV’S ZoNation, April 30

Yep, Gosnell could’ve been raised in the 2012 election.
Pro-lifers need to figure out that most in the Republican party don’t have the slightest interest in seeing abortion ended. They may privately avail themselves of it, themselves. The few truly pro-life Republicans are treated with embarrassment by the majority of the party, just as they treat pro-lifers at large. They like our money, the assume we’ll vote for them (perhaps, not much longer), but we’re just a bunch of extremist rubes they make fun of at DC cocktail parties. Certainly, we’re not to be taken seriously, at least not at the national level.
That’s why they always lose. Their lack of conviction is obvious to all, most of all to the conservative base, which is why Republicans will continue to lose until we can overcome the squishes and get true conservatives elected. Men who take ending abortion seriously. Not like Bush, or Romney.
I think Alfonzo hasn’t really looked into what happened. The GOP candidates who were most outspoken against womens reproductive choices and especially those who made asinine remarks about rape, equality etc. were amongst the worst performers. There’s the message that needs to be taken.
Ever since Ronald Reagan, Republicans have talked the talk but not walked the walk when it comes to regulating or ending elective abortion. Democrats are overall more honest about where they stand on abortion, while Republicans are overall more hypocritical about it.
Republicans for the most part are not doing anything to distinguish themselves from Democrats. They are working hard at being Democrat Lite, which nobody wants to drink. And they seem to be working hard at making themselves irrelevant to the point of oblivion.
To be honest Victor, I think you’re making the same mistake that some GOP strategists and commentators have done.
You (and they) say the GOP didn’t push the particular barrow of policies that people such as yourself support hard enough. Yet the more that some candidates pushed those particular barrows the worse the result.
An increasing number of voters have apparently decided they don’t like those particular policies.
Where that leaves the GOP I just don’t know. Does it split into a core group I would lovingly call dinosaurs and a group who mumble about not being democratic socialists and then try to form a ruling coalition? Dunno.
The Republicans won’t talk about this because they have no leg to stand on. I wouldn’t be surprised if they nominated Gosnell for the presidency. It’s time to wake up and vote for Constitutionalists. The Republican Party is pro-abortion.
Reality, I don’t believe any Republican pushed pro-life issues nearly hard enough. A couple of them said stupid things, which by the way weren’t really pro-life things to say at all. But that’s different. When a significant number of Republicans really emphasize pro-life issues and don’t get the votes, then I might buy what you’re saying.
At this point I much more inclined to agree with Mark. The Republican Party has more pro-life talk than Democrats but no more pro-life action. I’m talking on the federal level. On the state level it’s different and on the state level a lot of pro-life legislation is being passed, mostly by Republicans.
This is one of my guys!!
