Pro-life video of the day: Prof claims racism fueling pro-life laws
by Hans Johnson
Saturday on the Melissa Harris-Perry program an all-pro-choice panel discussed the bill that would outlaw abortions after 20 weeks (passed by the House of Representatives Tuesday).
Salamisha Tillet, an associate professor at the University of Pennsylvania, had a rather puzzling take on the underlying motive behind the recent spate of legislation:
… I think this is one response to that sense that there’s a decreasing white majority in the country and that women’s bodies and white women’s bodies in particular are obviously a crucial way of reproducing whiteness, white supremacy, white privilege.
And so I think it’s just a kind of clamping down on women’s bodies, in particular white women’s bodies, even though women of color are really caught in the fray.
Of course, the facts tell a different story: Minorities constitute an inordinately greater percentage of the abortions committed (4.8 times more than non-Hispanic whites). In other words, abortion is the white supremacist’s “friend.”
Here is the video from MSNBC:
Bill O’Reilly discussed this Tuesday night.

Margret Sanger’s spirit is alive and well in a black body. Talk about evil and ignorance personified. WOW!! 40% of black babies are slaughtered in the womb. Gosnell was black and most of his victims were black and poor but “white racism” is the motivation behind prolifers wanting to stop the killing.
Does MSNBC hire stupid people on purpose? Seriously, say whatever you want about Fox News, but I don’t think any of their contributors have ever said anything this idiot.
-Ic(k)! ;)
Hi JDC;
had to wonder if ‘a stupid’ is the right(as opposed to ‘left’) word. He seems very articulate … seems to be in-sync with our Reality. A better word might be ‘ignorant’…. a highly selective view of information …. a feministe Vs religious perspective. Interesting that it isn’t feministe-thinking vs classical-science(biology 101). A fetus is only a human if its mother wants him/her
An apple is an apple, though the tree don’t have no brain
But a human ain’t no person ’cause we are not the same!
Your heart may beat and feet might kick but so do all the birds’
You can’t be a people ’til she says the magic words!!
The real white supremacists are those who foster and protect the inner-city culture that gives rise to such “scholars”. God have mercy on us all.
Hmm…prolifers work to end abortion, all abortions. Black women of childbearing age, who constitute roughly three percent of our population have thirty six percent or more of all recorded abortions in our country. But of course we prolifers are racist because we want to see an end to this.
Don’t confuse them with facts Hans. They only understand and believe lies.
Let’s all take a step back — and big, deep breath:
We are finally enjoying a national conversation about abortion — the very thing that we have hoped for, for so very long. It is the one good thing to come out of the long tragedy that has been Gosnell/Karden/Carhart/Pendergraft/Alexander/etc./etc..
Of course, some pro-aborts are going to say stupid things. Only now, they are saying stupid on national television — in front of the “liberal” viewers. They heard this too. It will eventually filter into some open minds and hearts that abortion really does hurt Black Women and children, especially. This will ring in the ears of persons who truly care.
On the other hand, as we have seen in other videos — a great many liberal pro-aborts are really racist in their hearts. They don’t want to risk letting a child live, if that child might be raised on welfare and then grow into a criminal life.
Pro-lifers need to share our message: We are here to protect the lives of children and their mothers, and also to help them thrive. We are not the ones who abandon women or children after the abortion or the birth.
Professor Salamisha Tillet has given us yet another chance to tell this to the world. We must not waste it.
I think I’d agree with you Del except that the comment (her analysis) was so idiotic, that it dues reflect poorly on anyone with a modicum of sense. I am reminded of my sociology prof at university. I used to wonder about how she ever passed kindergarten let alone got a Phd.
The trouble is that BOTH sides of this debate are considered intellectually dishonest, making this whole mess (not just PC-arguments) mute.
Rather than repeat verbatim what PL has been saying for years, perhaps we can phrase our arguments in a ‘new’ perspective. We often view our maturation as legal-persons rather than as humans. We celebrate our ‘birthday’ (as legals) vs our existence as HUMANS some 9 months previously.
It entails changing an attitude: we believe that HUMANS (as in the US constitution) are not disposable, and are non-negotiable. We PL are their protectors, as parents.
Does it help that MSNBC is the least watched channel (even lower than HLN). Guess some watch it to get their daily dose of dogma.
Once upon a time a left-leaning abortion advocate said, “You are anti life because conservative politicians always vote against more social programs!!”
And then the same left-leaning abortion advocate said, “You are poor and young! You should abort that child rather than raise him on social assistance!!”
Disconnect? Hypocrisy, thy name is abortion advocate.
More nonsense from my alma mater the People’s University of Pennsylvania. On the one hand its an excellent school but on the other its very good at turning out useful idiots like this woman
