Family discovers sperm mixup from Utah fertility clinic
It was hard at first, to think, “Who am I?'”… I thought I was this person (of) my mom and my dad. Now, my dad is not my biological father.
Who am I?

In a mill where thousands of sperm are collected weekly one can expect problems. Hey this is a risk all who wish to use these services face.
There is only one way to ensure that sperm is safe from outside manipulation and everything else is a game of chance :)
Are there concerns that biological siblings will marry each other?
Gads. What a mess.
Not only is there serious potential of one day unwittingly marrying your sibling, what about medical history!? It’s really important to know if there’s a history of things like mental illness, allergies, heart disease, cancer, etc.
Gah.
Also, Carla, I do believe I read a story about a couple in England who fell in love and discovered that they were siblings weeks before their wedding!! How sad!
It boggles the mind LibertyBelle! Truly.
Isn’t there a man who claims to have 300+ biological children??
YIKES. I have no idea. But I just don’t get it. I mean, I do understand wanting to have kids but is it truly that important that they “be your own?”
And honestly, even if it was that important to me, I would not trust a sperm bank. Something about a place that stores semen and distributes it is just weird. Also, egg banks. I don’t know. I mean, there have been cases of hospital mixing up born babies (um, how?!) so little vials of sperm seem soooo easy to mix up. :( And how easy would it be for some whacko to ejaculate into a vial and swap labels? They obviously aren’t super careful about who they hire! Didn’t they see that he was arrested for such a weird, sexual crime? Who thought that person would be a good sperm bank employee?
(I’m all for giving people who have been in prison employment but let’s keep them away from fields related to their crimes, eh?) (like not giving a child porn collector/molester a job with children?)

+1 I do not like the idea of surrogacy, either. In many European countries, it is illegal, but here it seems to be largely unregulated.
Expect more of this. Genetic confusion as IVF children find out about the commodities that they used to be.
As usual, it is the innocent children who suffer.
