Stanek weekend question: Thoughts on Sebelius as she rides off into the sunset?
I was in Ireland when news broke last week that HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius was resigning, but a reader wrote asking that I give you all an opportunity to talk about her.
Indeed, in the minds of pro-lifers, Kathleen Sebelius is a scandalous, abominable, corrupt abortion protector, going back to her days as governor of Kansas, and perhaps before that.
Now, as overseer of the Obamacare rollout, it seems just that her name will now and forever be tied to failure.
What are your thoughts of Sebelius, one of the highest ranking members of America’s abortion cartel?

Though the rollout was bumpy, the numbers easily say phase 1 was a success. Like most in her position, she will be forgotten in months, but years from now when more people realize healthcare is in a better place, she will be appreciated.
Since the plan is for Obamacare to be such a disaster that people settle for total government control over health care, one could say that Sebelius, in helping to design this failure, is a success. She had to serve as the fall-gurl, for those who don’t understand the big picture, and are just dealing with the present debacle. This unpleasant part of her job is what hastened her resignation.
Hundreds of thousands of patients are losing coverage for badly needed surgeries, treatments and cancer care. Many will die of Obamacare, while the rest are herded into socialized medicine. The government will eventually control the lives and the deaths of everyone.
Those who feel incompetent to manage their own lives look to government to take over this job.
It is interesting that the very person who was assigned the job of spending extra tax payer money to make last year’s supposed government shut down as painful as possible, has been chosen to finish the destruction of what was once the best health care in the world. Obama’s budget chief, Sylvia Mathews Burwell, who spent extra money to chase people away from scenic overlooks, and public monuments, and who knows nothing of health care, will bring socialized medicine to the U.S.
She’s awful. Not really much more to say than that.
What will she do now?
Does she head back to Kansas and to a lucrative job?
Pharmer – interesting post.
Your link was to a British person who starts the article with how much easier it is in a country with universal coverage.
And you try to piece a weak argument that there is some different end goal – though common sense would say if they had the majority why pass a law that strengthens the insurance model?
As the stats continue to become clearer, the rhetoric doesn’t have much to stand on.
Carla – she will do what Tommy Thompson and others in that role have done. High paying board jobs.
Yikes.
It’s so kind of you to ensure we don’t have an anti Sebbie echo chamber. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to go count how many of the signers are incarcerated felons. Way to bump up the numbers, Chatty Kathy! I’d like to say buh-bye but like a bad penny, your ugly-hearted visage will reappear in the media.
I don’t like whining about Obamacare. We are stuck with it. I don’t even blame Sebelius for it. Even a brilliant and flawless execution of the ACA would not have prevented the lawsuits, the five-year anchor dragging our economy, or Obama’s HHS Mandate and the “War On Women” distraction for his re-election campaign.
For me, Sebelius will always be part of a triad with Pelosi and Biden: Ardent abortion supporters who self-proclaim to be Catholic Christians. They ate the Body of Christ, and drank His Blood — and then they multiplied the sacrifices of our children to Molech.
I don’t claim to read souls. But as to Sebelius in particular, it is painted upon her face. Molech smiled upon Tiller by the baring of Sebelius’s teeth. Molech’s talons tore into Phil Kline by the fingers on Sebelius’s pen.
Christ can forgive the murder and the sacrilege, Kathleen. Will you renounce the demon and repent of your legacy?
Don’t let the door hit you in the a$$.
Fine lot of thanks you got from the guy who hid behind your skirts and let you take the fall.
Lots of innocent blood on those scraggly hands.
The only way to clean them is with the Blood of Christ.
I don’t feel like praying for her, but I will.
If there is any justice, the moment Sebelius sets foot in Kansas again, she will be arrested and tried for all of her crimes in the state, facilitating and covering up for illegal late term abortions, shredding evidence, obstruction of justice in regard to investigation of the state’s abortion clinics, the vendetta against Phill Kline and so much more. And if there is any justice, she’ll perjure herself on the stand, and offend the judge and be charged with contempt of court; then she’ll be convicted, and have all sort of extra time added to her sentence for all the above — a sentence long enough for her to repent.
I know it won’t happen. I’m afraid there’s no real justice left in our land. But I hope she repents anyway. Her soul depends on it.
What Mary said.
KS came to DC looking smart, if cruel. She was way out of her league, as was demonstrated in her overseeing the tech issues of Obamacare/ACA so pathetically. And she got used in the process, and didn’t seem to see it coming. Very sad for a woman whose brains could have accomplished something good. No wonder Sibelius appears so bitter and tired. I wish her the best, though I wouldn’t want to stand in her shoes. God save her.
This whole thing is far from over.
If certain foreign policy actions are continued, we may find healthcare the least of our problems in about a year and half.
Of course the story doesn’t end the way many think.
Amen Lori Pieper.
Ex,
I keep forgetting that we live in the same state.
:)
Thanks for featuring this, Jill.
The blood that is one that woman’s hands.
Gosh Ex, I had to take a double read. I know you are a self-proclaimed ”Christian” and so-called ”prolifer” who loves the Dead Babies R Us mob and this administration but I thought it was Blue Velvet or Reality posting, I had to read it twice.
That is probably the biggest bunch of hypocritical garbage I have heard here in a while. A so-called “pro-lifer” embracing Tiller the Killer’s fundraising party friend KS on Jill’s pro-life blog where Jill has exposed KS for who she really is. Now that takes real nerve. “…but years from now…she will be appreciated?” for administrating the largest government program expanding and demanding abortion-on-demand at taxpayer expense that has ever been foisted on the American people and for “flipping the bird” to every Christian of religious conscience and convictions who is against the slaughter and mutilation of innocent unborn babies promoted by a woman who actually did the bidding of the PP, NARAL, Emily’s List, etc. the “abortion no restrictions, no apologies” femi-nazis. Shame on you. Don’t ever tell someone again that you are a “Christian prolifer”.
Cute post prolifer.
Healthcare reform is an overall good law with faults. Ks didn’t write it and had issues implementing it, but now that phase one is over, the numbers are great.
You get so wrapped up in the funding, like you don’t care much as long as you didn’t contribute a penny. Fact is, this country has long subsidized abortion in healthcare, but this is what pushes you over the edge?
Obviously, I have no special love for Sibellius, however, she has been used as the scape goat for the Obamacare policy disaster. Obama has a track record of using female appointees as scape goats for his failures–Clinton and Rice for Benghazi, for example.
It follows the habit of his personal life, too. Until he became president, Obama relied on his wife to be the primary bread-winner. In his publicized opinions, he would rather see women sent to combat than men play football. This man likes burdening women, and Sibellius’ story is no exception.
Meanwhile, men, like Holder, are not held responsible for failures or made to take the fall for the administration’s bad policies. The fact that the nominee to be Sibellius’ successor is also a woman strongly suggests to me that the pain is not over.
I notice you did not rush to deny you’re pro-choice but blabbed about something else. ”Blah blah blah you might as well vote democrat because abortion and corruption aren’t going away..” is the theme I see recurring.
I agree with you Rachel. Just want to add that O’s view and treatment of women is most exemplified with how he speaks of his daughters’ sexuality and possible pregnancies.

Not sure if you’re referring to me or somebody else – if you want me to respond to a post, or if it is directed at me, just let me know. I don’t like jumping into other’s conversations.
Lol! If the shoe fits…
