Pro-life vid of day: Technology can never replace love (Kleenex alert!)
From dtac, a communications company in Thailand, comes a commercial which reminds us that “technology can never replace love.” Some complain that the video does new fathers a disservice, assuming them to be incompetent at taking care of children, but others believe the video is a reminder of how much we need each other. With the YouTube video dtac writes:
Today mobile technology is so crucial that it becomes among the things many people can’t live without. Mobile technology development strives to bring solution for communication obstacles and replace many, many things in our life. That’s why some people believe technology makes the impossible possible. Meanwhile, the more advanced technology has developed, the more longing we have for the one thing… the thing that technology can never replace.
This commercial recalls the one thing that drives our life forward.
If you believe that ‘heart’ makes the world we live, allow your heart to open wider to people around you.

I don’t appreciate the “fathers are idiots” theme recently, but as a first time father with your child alone, sometimes you really don’t know quite what to do. I loved this ad, the old lady’s look is priceless. I also dislike families ignoring each other for their smartphones more than dumb father stuff.
Wow, sniff, added a “Kleenex alert” to the title! Beautiful.
Kelli: Some complain that the video does new fathers a disservice, assuming them to be incompetent at taking care of children….
Well, the new father ending up doing pretty well though, didn’t he? Chris and Jill are right. Awesome ad. :)
Personally, I think the ad is sweet.
But I did notice that there was some controversy on the web with people complaining that they felt the ad was insulting to dads, which is why I added that comment in my post.
Heh – I have no doubts that some of my fellow gamers would be as inept and unsure as the guy in the video, and this is “real life,” now.
Ad was sweet. I vote for annoyance at the “fathers are incompetent” theme. As a single dad I’m required to lol.
To be honest I had trouble with my first baby because I had literally never been around babies ever and certainly wasn’t raised to know how to properly care for children. But I managed. New dads need more support imo.
Well Jack, now that you’re more practiced, I think you’re bringing the average up a good bit.
