New Stanek poll: Which Republican would you like to see run for president?
It’s that time already. So I have a new poll question up. Good time to get an initial sense:
Which Republican would you like to see run for president in 2016?
Here were the results of my last poll regarding religious preferences in marriage partners (click to enlarge):
Apparently, there are apparently no Buddhists in the bunch – a lot of Catholics and Evangelicals, no surprise. Am a bit surprised at the percentage of atheists, “I don’t care’s,” and liberal Christians among us, all of whom I welcome.
Vote in the poll on the right side of the home page. As always, make comments to either the previous or current poll here, not on the poll site.
I’ve been hearing a lot of good things about Scott Walker lately and my Wisconsin friends seem to love him. So I guess I’ll vote for him in this poll.

I would still love to see Sarah Palin, but Scott Walker is pretty amazing!!!

There’d be no stopping Trey Gowdy! We need to get him to run.

Aye, I like the cut of Jindal’s jib.

There are many that would make for a good president; Santorum, Huckabee, Carson, Perry, Cruz and a few others. But not many have a real shot at getting the nomination.

Trey Gowdy. I know he’s not on the list, but that’s who I want. He knows American History, is intelligent both in an intellectual and emotional sense. He’s forthright, loves this country (that is a huge reason for me), and loves the Constitution upon which this country was founded. He believes and loves God (another huge reason for me). He is humble, but also confident. I think those qualities are something that a president needs, in dealing with domestic and international issues .

Olympia Snowe
Chris Christie might be acceptable as well.

Huckabee is my first choice.

Go palin!
Huckabee? Seriously? He makes palin look semi-rational – sometimes.

You have Carly Fiorini and Donald Trump as options in the poll but no Ted Cruz? Seriously?

I thought the GOP was too left/liberal for cruz.
Isn’t he starting his own party? The Nutcracker Suite or something?

Did you know Rick Perry changed his views on rape and abortion in the middle of his presidential campaign after talking with Rebecca Kiessling? That’s a profile in courage, right there.

I really liked Ben Carson but keep reading things about him that I disagree with.
Jindal
I would like Walker to stay as my governor. :)

I think Walker is a such a sure thing GOP nominee, that I would encourage everybody to call him and ask him to resign his current job so that he can go run.
Now, he might not remember what his current job is as he’s gone all the time – so please remind him.
Thanks,

I was talking to Joe Arpaio a little while back and he told me that cruz has a policy to remove all government funding from education and that the children of those who couldn’t afford to send them to school would be put to work in the fields. With no minimum wage of course. Joe likes the idea because he thinks it’ll discourage immigration.

Rick Santorum is the most pro-life of them all, with the exception of Ted Cruz, perhaps. Santorum has the experience with national security that our country needs. He was the only one in the March for Life & he co-authored the ban on partial birth abortion. Plus, he is strong on traditional marriage, and he is honest, decent & hard-working. He is for bringing back manufacturing and making this country great again.

I’m not a fan of traditional marriage Julie – the multiple wives seem to be problematic, and some of those OT rules on marriage and divorce are a bit crazy.

If things went back to ‘traditional’ marriage there could be a great loss of workforce as all those married women were forced to stay home. The banks might be a bit miffed at having to close so many accounts too. All depends which version of ‘traditional’ marriage people subscribe to I guess.
