Pro-life vid of day: Irish docs say abortion is not suicide treatment

The government of Ireland is attempting to legalize abortion for women who are suicidal. In response, leading medical experts demolished the abortion lobby’s arguments at recent government hearings held by the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Health and Children:

Unfortunately, we know the abortion lobby has never cared about medical facts relating to abortion, so these expert testimonials may make no difference.

fascinating that the Irish are attempting to do this after the woman who died due to abortion not being legal. She wasn’t suicidal, she just had pregnancy complications. And we thought Europe was saner…

Irish pro-life politicians should parade through their parliament a group of women and men from the “Silent No More” campaign who felt suicidal as result of having an abortion.
Let those who have had an abortion speak.

If the pregnancy is far enough along that it is possible to deliver and the woman threatens suicide if she has to complete it, perform an emergency C-section and place the baby for adoption. No, I’m not a big fan of adoption but if she’s unwilling to carry to term, she forfeits the right to custody.
Suicide and pregnancy have an odd relationship. The suicide rate among pregnant women is lower than average. It is true that some women commit suicide when they are psychologically unable to carry to term. It is also true some commit suicide because of trauma from abortions.
Regarding euthanasia: I know Jill Stanek opposes euthanasia but supports the death penalty. There is a sense in which the death penalty can be seen as a kind of euthanasia for the disorder of psychopathy. It is also true that some murderers ask for the death penalty because the prospect of life caged in a cell for years is so awful. Others have asked that they just be allowed to die if they have a heart attack or other life-threatening illness.
Let’s make sure this won’t happen again — at least not anytime soon. If a girl or woman says she will commit suicide unless her pregnancy is terminated, make certain she can’t get pregnant in the near future. It should be MANDATORY for her to have some sort of effective long-term contraception such as Norplant or Depo-Provera that doesn’t depend on her having to remember to take it. Regarding health risks: those are less than the risks associated with such a girl or woman getting pregnant.
If the embryo or fetus gets taken out, the Depo or Norplant must be put in. No pregnancy in a woman who would commit suicide if pregnant!

bOY AM i GETTING TIRED OF REPEATING THIS OVER AND OVER. Decades ago a NZ obs/gyn (Dr. Patrick Dunn) surveyed his pregnant clientelle and found there were two distinct ‘depression-states’ DURING PREGNANCY: 1st – from 8-11 wks … and 2nd during the whole third trimester. Over 80% of ALL abortions were done at the very lowest point of that 1st depression at 10 wks. So tactics to go-slow with this decision MAY be enough to see a change.
There are two other periods that are directly associated with these. A 3rd depression (which can be suicidal) happens immediately after birth. It is the famed post partum depression. Another ‘period’ of depression-idiology is often during puberty.
Not writing about mood-swings at all, these periods coincide precisely with the use of high amounts of zinc for a developing human, [Zinc and Copper in Medicine’ eds Sarper & Karcioglu, 1982].
So, yes pregnancy often CAUSES depression, BUT ABORTION ADDS TO DEPRESSION because zinc is used to heal. So an abortion will often drive a depression deeper !
When I mentioned suicide to someone who favors abortion being illegal, she said, “Let her kill herself.”
Denise, that’s because an unborn child is FAR more important than the life of the mother. Who cares about people after birth..the only thing that is important is to make sure women carry on breeding like sows.
This kind of garbage goes right back to the middle ages so much that it makes me sick to my stomach.

1. All humans have an equal right to life.
2. Threatening to do something worse (kill yourself and the person you want to kill) shouldn’t give you the right to kill someone.
