No I didn’t and I don’t plan to! I don’t like Sarah Palin, I think she makes prolifers look bad. Is being on a tacky reality show befitting of someone who eventually wants to be leader of the free world? Don’t we have enough bad publicity without her being one of our “spokespeople?”
I have a big, big problem with hunting unless people really need the meat for food. Killing innocent animals for sport is NOT prolife!
I don’t have cable, but I sure wish I could watch it. I don’t think SP would make a good pres, VP or whatever. But she is a great spokesperson for pro-lifers, conservatives, and regular Americans.
Hunting is a great sport, no one loves wildlife and nature more than hunters, fishermen, and the like. We are not bloodthirsty killers, we love God’s creation and want to benefit from it, and enjoy it, while conserving it for future generations. Folks who are not involved in outdoor activities are so removed from nature, their views on animals are so skewed: Innocence and guilt are conditions predicated on the presence of a soul, with which animals have not been endowed. I know so many folks who treat their dogs like children and are horrified at the though of animal cruelty, yet are oblivious to human cruelty and murder.
Yes we must care for animals, because we are called to care for God’s creation, but hunting is not outside of that calling.
Regina, I mentioned I don’t think it’s wrong to hunt for food. My father grew up in rural Florida during the Depression. They were very poor and ate raccoons, rabbits, opposums, etc., in order to survive. Just to kill an animal to put his or her head on your wall, or its fur on your back, really bothers me, though. As does fox-hunting. What pleasure people get from hounding and hunting a poor animal to death escapes me.

I agree. Peter Singer comes to mind. People come first in my book. Nothing will convince me that ”a pig is a dog is a boy!”
I saw it and I enjoyed it immensely. Can’t wait to see the other episodes, if but for the sheer pleasure to hear the wailing and gnashing of liberal teeth.
Next week should be especially annoying, with her shooting guns and all.
I think TLC should be rename it “Alaska’s Sarah Palin”.
Then after 2012, TLC should come out with “Barack Obama’s Hawaii”.
Thanks for your comments.
I don’t have TLC so I’ll need to wait until the series is posted on YouTube.
I dont have cable either but I would watch if I could.
I just have to say Sarah looks better gutting a fish than I look getting dressed up and going to dinner – how does she do that?! *Sigh*
LOL
Kristen, I so agree that she’s a natural beauty.

LOL!
I saw it and thought it was just fine. Not just because I’m a fan. It’s ridiculous to say this is not befitting someone with political aspirations. There’s a big difference between a reality show that’s a travelog and screamfests like “Jersey Shore” or “Big Brother”.
And the Palins aren’t trophy hunters. They may not need to hunt, but wouldn’t it be more wasteful to have meat shipped in?
So, “tacky reality show”? Not even close. “Bad publicity”? How in the world?
As she noted, Reagan started as an actor. Okay, then he headed the Screen Actors Guild, spent a decade making political speeches, became governor, and then president on his second try.
Sarah Palin started as a sports broadcaster (same as Reagan, as a matter of fact), worked with her husband in their fishing business, then joined the PTA. Then I guess she headed the Oil Development Board (or whatever it’s called), became mayor of Wasilla, governor, and did darn well as a vice-presidential candidate on her first try at national office.
Now she is on the speech circuit, as many do while in the political “wilderness”, and making herself better known in this series. How is any of this “beneath” someone seeking political office?
The presidency was designed as half figure-head, half chief executive. That’s why Clinton’s behavior was so important and earned him an”F” as figurehead. For decades schoolchildren will giggle when touring the Oval Office.
We don’t require presidents to have phDs in political science. Just represent our country with dignity, and hopefully have some executive experience in business or government.
I would submit our current president lacks in both areas. Zero leadership compared to McCain or Palin, and a tendency to apologize for, rather than promote, our country.
And where is the proof of Obama’s “genius”, by the way? His school records are still kept secret, unlike any other candidate.

LOL. Yay for internet TV!
I haven’t seen the show, but maybe I’ll wait for the “Sarah Palin Marathon” on TLC (assuming they have one) and watch it all at once. I saw two minutes of it last night and I think Bristol said said something to her Mom about her “prom hair” which was pretty funny. Did anyone else hear that?
Hans Johnson,
I’m with you on Sarah. Personally, I don’t think she’ll be running for President in the near future because she’s such a polarizing figure and the Republicans can’t risk it, but give her twenty years and who knows. It’s funny how some people think she should hole up in her little house in Alaska and not have any fun like the rest of us.
No, I missed it because I was on the Amtrak train on Sunday. They don’t have TV on Amtrak. I’ll have to catch the mext episode though. I do like Sarah Palin.
But on the plus side, I got to see Sarah Palin give a speech on my last night in Texas. She spoke in Dallas at the Majestic Theater for a group named Heroic Media. It was great. She’ll be a good president someday. If the American people refuse to vote her in, oh well, that’s democracy for you. In a democracy, you really DO get the government you deserve. Plus, you don’t get the good government you don’t deserve. Unlike a dictatorship, where you get screwed either way.
Anyway, I couldn’t see Sarah Palin on TV while I rode Amtrak, but I did see her speech in Dallas.
Checking the TLC site, they rebroadcast the first episode on both Wednesday and Sunday at 7 p.m. Eastern.
I’d like to see her and Bobby Jindal as president for 16 years.
BS”D
I’ll take Sarah Palin’s Alaska over Nancy Pelosi’s San Francisco:

I saw the show, and enjoyed it more than I thought I would, lol. The neighbor who has moved in next door, who sits and watches the Palin family, who is writing a derogatory book about them, is beyond rude. I thought Sarah and her family handled that horrible situation with great grace.
I think Sarah has a beautiful family, and Todd strikes me as a very capable guy — the “strong, silent type”. Sarah is quite the talker, and somebody has to listen. ;)
