Planned Parenthood’s 2007 in review
I need to do a little decoding before you watch. Pro-lifers can add more decoding they deem necessary in the comments section….
The “federal abortion ban” Planned Parenthood mentions protesting was the Partial Birth Abortion Ban, you know, where the abortionist delivers the baby breech up to her head, sticks scissors in her neck, suctions her brains out, crushes her skull with forceps, and pulls her out, that “federal abortion ban.”
And the attorney, Eve Gartner, that PP touts as its first to go before the U.S. Supreme Court? Well, she lost… the Partial Birth Abortion Ban case.
And, hey, the Aurora Planned Parenthood, with its pink barbed wire fence, made the review! I feel like giving an acceptance speech!
[HT: John Jansen at Pro-Life Action League]

Why did they have to hijack the color pink?
And what do they mean by “You are planned parenthood too”…
NO I’M NOT!
And, hey, the Aurora Planned Parenthood, with its pink barbed wire fence, made the review! I feel like giving an acceptance speech!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Why? What did you have to do with it?
How very touching. Poignant actually.
“And you are Planned Parenthood, too.”
Speak for yourself.
Hey, Cecile, your womb’s empty.
What does that even MEAN?
Uhh… third trimester abortions occur less than 1% of the time… so, in “banning” them (which it didn’t really) it does little if anything. There are other ways to perform a third trimester abortion.
Tell that to the 1% (13,000) which are given life! I’d bet they would argue with your little comment!
The “black hearts” on their I love PP posters were a nice, honest touch.
“Uhh… third trimester abortions occur less than 1% of the time… so, in “banning” them (which it didn’t really) it does little if anything”
So, lets see here, 1.3 million abortions per year, 1 percent is what 13,000? late term abortions per year, not too much Leah (although I’ll bet there are many more late-term killings than recorded), only twice the population of the town I live in. It’s true, the executioners will find others ways to kill; chop them inside and pull the limbs out one at a time, I guess they somehow crush the head inside of the womb now, do you know if they still suck the babies brains out as in a partial birth abortion? I’m not sure.
That 13,000 were not given life. Third-trimester abortions are still legal! There are other methods.
Ooooooooh! Look!
Randall Terry – deadbeat dad, no less – is trying to be relevent!:
Eleven Arrests at Giuliani’s Headquarters — Manchester, New Hampshire
Contact: Joseph Landry, 406-860-9738
MANCHESTER, N.H., Dec. 19 /Christian Newswire/ — Eleven protesters led by national anti-abortion activist Randall Terry were arrested yesterday outside Rudy Giuliani’s presidential campaign office.
The pro-life activists, from Florida, Ohio, New Jersey, Maryland, and New Hampshire, were released later that day with trespassing charges while Mr. Terry remained in custody awaiting his court hearing.
Terry’s message to the GOP and ethical voters:
“Rudy Giuliani can not ignore pro-life voters or the Republican party’s pro-life platform.”
“Rudy’s position on pre-born babies makes him unfit to hold office and certainly means he will not carry conservative voters into election day.”
“We must expose Rudy for who he is — a deceitful left-wing Democrat masquerading as a Republican.”
“New Hampshire is America’s primary. What happens in New Hampshire will affect every voter in America.”
Randall Terry’s supporters will be picketing starting at 8 a.m., for the third day in a row in New Hampshire, outside of the County Courthouse, at 35 Amherst, Manchester, NH, waiting for his release.
Yes, I know. The point I was trying to make is not minimize the 1% (thats still alot). Now Leah, do you know if they still suck the babies brains out as in a partial birth abortion? Or do they just crush the skull?
Oh, thank-you Laura, I think I might go, I’m only 1 hr from Manchester, NH.
I’m going to bed, Jasper, dear. As for partial birth abortions, I don’t know. En plus, je m’en fiche. Better things to worry about. ‘Night!
(spare me the Satan bit, by the way–I’m not Satan nor do I speak for him or acknowledge him)
I didn’t call you Satan, please don’t imply that.
“Better things to worry about.”
yes, for you of course, no surprize there.
Leah,
If you have better things to worry about, WHY are you even on here commenting? If you have better things to do, then maybe go do them and let US care about the babies.
Amen Elizabeth.
Btw: It’s nice to read your comments, you’re very articulate and bright.
Aww, thank you Jasper!!!
On that lovely note, I’m off to bed! Night everyone!
John, decoding? Do you think that you are 007 or something? Obviously you find the PL to be some kind of secret spies for Jesus business.
Too bad your secret spies don’t know or care how or why later term from norm abortions are performed.
Without a villain you would not exist.
I argue with you Charles. I am one that may not have been born for whatever reason. Just like you.
You can do all the ‘telling’ you want. I bet I have better ‘tellings’.
Can you do the tell and keep it straight Charles?
Oh I can see it coming. Sally is going to tell us again that late term abortions are removing babies that are already dead or horribly deformed, even though she never gives a source and any source you look up shows less than 10% of late term abortions are unhealthy and 90% are healthy normal babies.
Define your concept of ‘late term’ and get back to me. Or just keep rubbing your crystal ball that tells you all about everyone and everything. @@
Elizabeth, you say that you actually have a baby. What the hell are you doing? How can you be posting on here all day and night? Shouldn’t you be on your knees praying in your very rare spare time?
Ron Fitzsimmons, executive director of the National Coalition of Abortion Providers (a trade association of abortion providers), told the New York Times (Feb. 26, 1997): “In the vast majority of cases, the procedure is performed on a healthy mother with a healthy fetus that is 20 weeks or more along.”[35] Some prominent self-described pro-choice advocates quickly defended the accuracy of Fitzsimmons’ statements.[36]
Jasper, the law only protects live fetuses from partial-birth abortioon, so what you do is first kill the fetus in utero by injecting digoxin into the heart. It’s easy to do this with ultrasonography.
Hope this clears things up for you.
Number of late-term abortions prevented by the Partial-Birth Abortion ban: ZERO.
Yes, thanks SoMG, I was wondering too how they get the skull out.
“Number of late-term abortions prevented by the Partial-Birth Abortion ban: ZERO.”
Yes, I know SoMG. But PBA ban did put abortion back on the map and exposed the barbarity of it.
Elizabeth, you say that you actually have a baby. What the hell are you doing? How can you be posting on here all day and night? Shouldn’t you be on your knees praying in your very rare spare time?
Actually Sally, if you look at the actual TIMES of my posts..they are commonly at 3 different times during the day. First in the morning, usually when I wake up and my daughter is still asleep..in the middle of the day..when my daughter is NAPPING..and at night when my daughter is IN BED! Are you really trying to imply that I am lying or something? I have posted pictures of us you know. And why is it that I should be on my knees praying in my very rare spare time? (which I have a little bit more of now that school has ended for winter break) WHAT is your point exactly Sally? I was talking to Leah, not you.
AB Laura: The “black hearts” on their I love PP posters were a nice, honest touch.
:: laughing :: Gotta love it, Laura.
SoMG: Number of late-term abortions prevented by the Partial-Birth Abortion ban: ZERO.
Right – it just banned a procedure which is sometimes the best one.
Doug, would you mind if I nominated this comment as QoTD? That’s a good one. LOL
Ha! Feel free, Homie.
(The point being that less cervical dilation is necessary, etc….)
The D&X procedure can be used as early as 15/16 weeks – it is NOT synonymous with ‘late term abortion’. The vast majority of D&X abortions are performed before 22 weeks. According to the JAMA there are about 500 to 600 third trimester abortions in the US by ANY method and the reasons for these are atypical. Women dont wait 28 weeks then have an abortion because they ‘changed their mind’;
The ACOG came out with a public policy statement saying that while the D&X procedure was never the ONLY option it was sometimes the BEST option. Its over relatively quickly, it requires less dilation, its less stressful for the woman and the fetus is removed intact. When there are medical reasons to end a wanted pregnancy this IS important. EVERYONE in the US should be worried about polititians with NO knowledge of medicine stepping in and telling doctors which procedures they can and cannot use.
Well, Elizabeth, I wouldn’t post here if this site was solely about third-trimester abortion methods. However, it covers the whole topic of abortion in general (as well as t-shirts, now), which I care a bit more about. That’s why.
Jasper, I apologize. That comment was uncalled for. My defenses are ten miles high on this site. It’s no excuse. Please accept my apology.
When you post on this board you post to everyone that bothers to read Jill’s blog. I wonder about you Elizabeth. You don’t work for a living? How do you afford to be at home all day long? How do you afford to have a home?
Well, Miss Sally, if you have read any of my past comments, you would know that I live at home with my parents currently because I have stated that several times. And how do I afford to be at home all day long? Well, I have a very wonderful family that I live with that assists me in raising my daughter financially until I am done with my degree and begin my career as a nurse. That’s how. My family is pretty much amazing.
Sally, how is any of that your business?
So you sit on your butt all day and say nasty things about people who actually WORK?
The most common reason women give for having an abortion is financial difficulty. ADULTS don’t go running home to mommy every time they’re in a bind. They do the responsible thing, and get on with their lives.
You and Heather really have a lot in common.
Children should not have children.
Bite me, Doug!
Bite ME!
(Can you tell I just escaped from Trader Joes? I had to hurt some people…)
Ha! Laura, this time of year I like to hide away, far from the madding crowds. Might go shopping very early or very late, but I see a mall parking lot and it just makes me nauseous.
A throng of people just standing in the wrong place, blocking everybody else’s passage – I want to bowl into them like a tank.
Or maybe get the Christmas Spirit and heave a big tree at them.
I always did want to bite you.
Doug
Haha Laura, you REALLY crack me up…I only WISH I sat on my butt all day. In case you were confused or just flat out can’t read, I said my parents are assisting me with raising her financially until I am finished with my degree, hence I am going to school. I couldn’t sit on my butt all day even if I wanted to. 2 year-old’s don’t really give a parent that luxury at all. And I didn’t go running home to mommy at all…THEY were the ones who wanted me to come home and so I CHOSE to do so. My home is a pretty fabulous place to raise a child, certainly BETTER than anything I could muster up with a mediocre full-time job (not career, JOB). You knock me for doing what is best for my daughter…I am living at home, going to school, raising her. I think it is WAY more adult to do what I have to do so my daughter is healthy and happy. THAT’S what an adult does..put their kids first. What? You would rather I go to work full-time at the mall making average money and be on welfare and STILL barely get by…meanwhile NEVER seeing my kid? That may be the life that is acceptable for you..but not for me or my child. I am working very hard at school to become a certified RN, which is much better pay than I would ever make at some restaurant or clothing store. And I can schedule classes around my daughter and who can watch her when I go to class, which is usually my mom or older brother.
And just for the record, I have not said anything nasty EVER about people who work. That would just be plain ignorant, and unlike you, Laura, I am neither nasty nor ignorant.
