Stanek Sunday verse: “I will not forget you! I have engraved you on the palms of my hands.”
Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you! See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands….
~ Isaiah 49:15-16a, New International Version

Great passage, Jill. Note how God holds out the most ridiculous, the most absurd notion in describing His love for us. Even if a mother could be without love for the child of her womb, God will still love us and not forget us.
God chose the greatest of all hyperbole, the height of absurdity, and in our sickness and evil, we made it a reality.
He knew. He knew. He reassures us, even as evil as we are, as evil as we become, HE WILL NEVER FORGET HIS LOVE FOR US.
My favorite passage:
The Lord is not slack concerning His promise [to judge the world], as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9

No greater LOVE is there than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13
