Breaking News: Planned Parenthood recruits abortion volunteers thru Obama’s Serve.gov
UPDATE, 10/20, 9:05a: At present, David Bereit, national director of 40 Days for Life, is scheduled to go on Laura’s show at 11:15a EST to discuss Planned Parenthood’s government sponsored attack on 40 Days.
_______________
UPDATE, 10/20, 12:30a: Laura Ingraham is going to cover this story on her radio show today.
_______________
President Barack Obama spoke October 16 at a volunteerism forum hosted by former President George H. W. Bush at Texas A&M University.
During his remarks, Obama plugged his new government program, serve.gov:
And that’s the point I want to emphasize today: that service isn’t separate from our national priorities, or secondary to our national priorities – it’s integral to achieving our national priorities. It’s how we will meet the challenges of our time….
That’s why this summer we launched United We Serve, a nationwide effort calling on all Americans to make service part of their daily lives. And we partnered with more than 400 organizations; made more than 250,000 service opportunities available on serve.gov; and watched as nonprofits, and foundations, and corporations, and individuals spent hundreds of thousands of hours serving their communities….
In Obama’s world what service is “integral” to our “national priorities? And what is one organization has he at taxpayer expense linked volunteers to for “service opportunities”?
The answer to question #1 is abortion, and the answer to #2 is Planned Parenthood, the United States’ largest abortion provider.
Lisa Stauber of the Houston Conservative Examiner did some digging and reported this October 16:
Earlier this week, Breitbart’s BigGovernment site outed Serve.gov as promoting volunteer opportunities at the beleaguered ACORN. Those posts have since been scrubbed, but I wondered what other opportunities this administration might be promoting.
Typing in the keyword “health” and selecting “Houston” [on the serve.gov site] brought up Planned Parenthood’s need for volunteers to protect clients from the 40 Days for Life prayer vigil participants [currently “C” on page 7 of the AllForGood website, which links back to serve.gov]. Their job? Make sure pro-life protesters don’t speak or give any information to women seeking abortions at the clinic.

40 Days founder David Bereit, who alerted me of this, wrote, “So taxpayers are being forced to fund the abortion industry’s recruitment efforts to counter 40 Days for Life. Amazing. Or should I say, SICK.”
Here’s a screen shot of the Planned Parenthood “Opportunity sign-up” to thwart 40 Days in Houston currently on serve.gov.
I also found a volunteer sign-up for Planned Parenthood of Central Ohio on serve.gov.
And this 1 sounds so pleasant! Sign up thru serve.gov to help Planned Parenthood Advocates of Wisconsin peddle abortions at the Madison Farmers Market!
I’m sure I’d find more if I kept looking but you get the drift. You’re paying for Planned Parenthood to snag volunteers, sometimes to directly combat our pro-life efforts.

This blatant support of abortion by our government is insidious.
We need to pray now more than ever for a change of heart of those who support abortion and for pro-lifers to get out of their comfort zone and do more. We need to defund Planned Parenthood and keep abortion out of healthcare. If a yard sign to this effect were available, I’d put one in my yard!!
Notice how they call it “40 days” not “40 Days for Life”
Kinda hard to say they oppose life, which of course they do.
Several years the IRS seized a brothel in Nevada for not being patriotic and investing their fair share of taxes in the federal government.
The IRS continued to operate the ‘creative dance club’ hoping to recover some of their patriotic contibutions, until some fair minded citizen blew the whistle and dropped the dime on the Infernal Revernoors.
Unfortunately that is not the only whore house that the feds operate. The biggest whore house in the world is P.P. and the biggest mac daddy pimp is B.O.!
(Aplogies to ladies of the evening and working gals and guys everywhere for comparing you to P.P. and B.O.)
yor bro ken
Notice the word ABORTION does not appear, which is what people are praying to end.
How many are praying that women don’t get breast exams and pap smears?
Lies, Lies, Lies.
No one will come if they tell the truth. That is why they don’t even bother with the truth.
Has Bill O’Reilly talked about this unholy alliance between Planned Parenthood and serve.gov?
This is kind of off-topic, but how is that “independent” investigation of ACORN going? Inquiring minds would like to know.
If the Internet existed back when the Nazis were in power, I bet they would have done this!
Does anyone know how these “opportunities” get listed? Are they found by the folks running serve.gov or are they submitted?
Saw a comment on Facebook about this post. The commenter asked if there were also opportunities to volunteer at Pregnancy Care Centers??
Nuff said.

Good question. Another question – Are background checks being done before sending these “volunteers” out for duty? I would certainly hope so.
I was just thinking, (always a dangerous proposition) but what if some of us went undercover and volunteered to be escorts? We could tell the moms that they don’t have to stop and talk to the 40 Days for Life people but they can if they want to. “Have you considered adoption? . . .”
What’s the name of that website . . .?
Carla,
I’m guessing that commenter was you. Yes?
I might get fired after 10 minutes but then again, I might save a baby too!
I tried to volunteer at a pregnancy center; I’m too young. :(
Blast!
Is this the national government or Houston? Because it says Houston in the letter, so I was just wondering if cities had the opportunity to write their own Serve Gov things.
Nonetheless, I’ll be serving the environment, Darfur, and working on my new t-shirt design for pygmy rights instead of donating jack to a bunch of rich bigots who don’t need anymore money and accolades. Seriously.
Anyone want a pygmy rights t-shirt when I’m finished? :)
No posts for abortuaries in my area.
Maybe later.
Vannah,
Once I can secure unborn children rights, I might consider pygmy rights.
Janet,
It wasn’t me. :)
Ed,
Do you really want to sit through hours and hours of training to be an escort for the darkness or stand for life with the folks that really do save lives everyday? 299 babies have been saved so far during 40 Days for Life. 2 clinic workers have quit.
I typed in “Crisis Pregnancy” and actually got things like Hope hotline and options counselor at Prengnacy help center so at least those are there…..
If you want to help a Right to Life group, and you’re considered too young to counsel at a PCC, then maybe helping in other ways like helping with newsletters (like placing address labels on) or maybe they’d let you help with the donations received (like sorting baby clothes and other supplies).
Vannah,
How old do you have to be to volunteer?
Time for a lawsuit big time!!!
I can’t imagine you being ‘too young’ to volunteer at a CPC, Vannah. At the one where I was a counselor, there were young women in college who were counselors, and High School girls who came in to help sort baby/maternity clothes and help put together the newborn layettes we gave out. I don’t know how they are run in other places, but you wouldn’t be too young for the one I volunteered in. It was Birthright (who later changed their name to Birthchoice). They are a World-Wide organization.
Thanks for staying on top of the issues, disgusting what this admin is using our tax money to support.
The one that we have in my area is called Animas. I think that there’s another one but I don’t know where it is. You have to be eighteen to work with Animas. And they prefer training, I think. If you don’t have any training to do things like counseling, then I think that they send you to sort baby clothes and things or sweep: they’re pretty big on making sure that women get the best care which works best (obviously) if you have training, so I get it.
For the time being, I’m trying to find someone to help me make t-shirts for a few causes: pygmy rights (particularly in the Congo, where pygmies can be enslaved), children’s rights (which includes abortion, education, equality for girls, et cetera), Darfur, peace, Hispanic rights, women’s rights (I want to do some sort of athletic thing for girls to help them feel empowered…even though I despise sports myself), and endangered species.
So, just as a suggestion, what color would you pick for a pro-life t-shirt? I was thinking either dark purple or green?
See…this is what Serve stuff should be about. Not Planned Parenthood. They don’t need jack.
Women’s and children’s rights do!
So, green or purple or any other suggestions?
:)
Carla,
No way, didn’t know training was required, scratch the undercover idea.
God bless you, Vannah. It’s so wonderful to see a highschool student who is so passionate about the right things!
I think that green would be lovely, but I’m a bit biased. It’s my favorite color. :)
Ed,
I am sure there are many other undercover ideas for us!! :)
Awww, Lauren, you made me squee…
^.^
I’m glad that you’re interested in human rights activism, too.
I was thinking green, actually. I was originally going to pick green for the environment shirts…but that’s so classic.
Green is good since a part of children’s rights includes being pro-life, and life and green go together so well. Purple seems like a better color for Darfur (no idea why).
Purple is the color of my little shoebox organization (I literally store it in the back of my closet) and the first big human rights activism that I got involved with was Darfur, then peace, then pro-life, then women’s rights, and so on and so forth.
Yeah, uh, I’m the only one who works for this organization…
But I think that you’re right. Green is good!
:)
Vannah,
I didn’t realize you were so young!
Glad to see you so informed at such a young age.
Aborted fetal DNA in vaccines, why not promote for it at the Farmers Market? China is making soup with it’s late term abortions. Hollywood horror flicks depict gruesome murders of pregnant women. Prez Obortion is just doing his duty as The Demon’s Messiah.
“Aborted fetal DNA in vaccines, why not promote for it at the Farmers Market?”
Soylent Green anyone?
If you do a search for “pro-life”, you get pages upon pages of internships and volunteer opportunities with right to life organizations that want to take away my constitutionally guaranteed rights. And a search for “crisis pregnancy center” also provides several pages of opportunities to volunteer in deceptive so-called clinics designed exclusively to misinform women about their options in the case of unintended pregnancy.
Hmmmm….that Jillian is a tricky one. We’ll need to work harder to deceive her.
*cackles*
How do I deceive and misinform women, Jillian? Be specific.
Also, please show me where in the constitution it says you have the right to kill your own preborn child.
Jillian, I’ll tell you the same thing the others will, if you come to this blog, you’d better be ready to backup your accusations or statments with proof. Do you or any other pro-choicers actually have any evidence against CPCs other than ancedotes from political, pro-choice sources?
I’ve written an article, trying to be objective, on CPCs. It can be found here: http://rsnider.livejournal.com/4365.html
Has anyone here unfortuantly heard of this grassroots organization, CPC Watch? It’s a political pro-choice organization providing (mis)information on CPCs, personal ancedotes (from pro-choice sources, I might add) & activism information to try defund and shut down CPCs.
Rachael C.
Excellent article that you have written!!
Jillian: At least Crisis Prengnacy Centers HELP women with FREE services like a FREE ultrasound the woman is actually ALLOWED to see, free baby clothes, diapers, parenting classes, financial and medical help, etc, etc, etc.
Please read Carla’s personal abortion story. Your eyes will be opened. At least 50% of abortions end a future WOMAN’s life. So, 1000s of females have had their rights taken away BEFORE birth.
Thank you, Carla! Though I’m always open to suggestions for improvement :)
There are postings for those who support the pro-life platform on serve.gov. This is one of many.

WE ARE NOT ANTI-CHOICE. WE ARE PRO-LIFE!
Liz,
Where do I read carla’s personal abortion story?
http://fourby40.blogspot.com/2007/07/being-real.html
Carla’s abortion story.
Thanks Liz!!
Also, if you wish to view it on Youtube, type Abortion and Forgiveness into Search. That is me in the brown sweater. :)
How interesting that the website uses the euphemism “women’s health services” in exchange for “abortion services.” I guess calling it “baby murdering services” is right out.
Carla,
I just watched your video again. Awesome. Your choice of psalm readings at the end are beautiful. What an inspiration you are.
Volunteers at PP don’t last very long. Most of the paid employees at PP can’t stand to work there. I think we’ll get more pro-lifers out of this lame recruitment program in the long run, once they see us outside praying for them in the rain, sleet & snow…
Thank you, Janet. I love you.
How is deathscorting “instantly gratifying”? I tell the morning ones at the abortuary that if they think they’re helping these women, they ought to stick around a bit longer to see them come out, puffy faces or openly weeping, angrily squealing out of the parking lot. Not one feminist flag waving. Gratifying if you’re a misogynist, I guess.
I am speechless! What next?
Carla, I just read your story that is posted above!! You, along with my many friends who have shared their story, are my hero! It is the brave women who have shared their stories with me, that I honor every time I type about the effects of abortion. I will add you to my long list of brave women! God bless you, God bless your darling husband, whom I loved reading his comments on there as well, and God bless all of the women, who have bought the lie! May they too find the healing you have found!
The PP ad on serve.gov said deathscorts only needed to be 16 years old.
I did see ads for crisis pregnancy centers and a few other very, very interesting health ads, but I didn’t write them up on the Houston Conservative Examiner site because I couldn’t get more info about them.
However, the other volunteer opportunities were not for organizations under criminal investigation, as Planned Parenthood is. TX Planned Parenthoods were also ordered closed earlier this year because they were performing unlicensed abortions (how’s that “safe and rare” working out, huh?)
Thank you, IDSCforlife!! :)
