Catholic nun not exactly thrilled with Hobby Lobby ruling

Hobby Lobby ruling Sister Simone Media Matters

Are Sr. Simone and NETWORK and all these women pro-abortion? Pro-abortifacients? Against religious liberty? Against the US Bishops?

That’s what this looks like, doesn’t it. Let Sr. Campbell tell us.

~ Fr. John Zuhlsdorf speculating as to why progressive nun Sister Simone Campbell would retweet a Media Matters tweet to a link that features a video montage of eight women, beginning with Sr. Campbell, explaining their objections to the recent Supreme Court ruling in the Hobby Lobby case, July 1.

The tweet reads, “8 Women Explaining Why #HobbyLobby Ruling is Wrong”

Pro-life vid of day: Megyn Kelly destroys Hobby Lobby myth

by Kelli

On The O’Reilly Factor, FOX’s Megyn Kelly spelled out the facts in the Hobby Lobby case decided by the Supreme Court this week.

Watch as she responds to the claim made by Sandra Fluke on MSNBC that “What this is really about at its base is trying to figure out as many ways as possible to limit women’s access to reproductive healthcare”:

Insider photo verifies Planned Parenthood has abortion quotas

Evidence of Planned Parenthood abortion quotas, awards

The photo above was taken by a former Planned Parenthood employee, who forwarded it to former Planned Parenthood clinic manager Abby Johnson, a converted pro-life activist. Abby explained what the award meant:

Ever since I left Planned Parenthood, I have been talking about the abortion quotas that are established inside abortion facilities.  Many abortion supporters refused to believe it, citing that surely Planned Parenthood wants abortion to be safe, legal and RARE.  If they want something to be RARE, they certainly wouldn’t have quotas, right?

We recently had a clinic worker leave the affiliate, Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains.  This affiliate runs the 2nd largest Planned Parenthood facility in the U.S.  At this clinic in Denver, they give out various awards to their satellite clinics and post these awards on a bulletin board for everyone to see.

When our former worker saw this award on public display, it really started to change her thinking about Planned Parenthood’s motivation.  This award was given to their Aurora clinic for “exceeding abortion visits first half of fiscal year 2012 compared to first half of fiscal year 2013.”

This means that the Aurora Planned Parenthood exceeded the abortion quota that was imposed on them.  And THAT is award worthy according to Planned Parenthood.

Planned Parenthood’s abortion coaches

Obviously, a quota wouldn’t be placed on abortion sales unless abortions were lucrative for Planned Parenthood.

Also obviously, Planned Parenthood ”counselors” are not unbiased. They are actually abortion coaches. There is both a negative and positive incentive for increasing the number of babies murdered.

And whereas the abortion industry accuses pro-life counselors at pregnancy care centers of being biased, at least our side doesn’t profit from decisions made.

In fact, whenever a mother decides against abortion at a pro-life pregnancy care center, that center stands to lose financially due to resources it may be called upon to provide that mother, her baby, and her family.

Employees: Protect self, snap photos

I appreciate the former Planned Parenthood worker who had the wherewithal to snap this photo. I would encourage all abortion clinic personnel to take photos when visuals arouse concerns, suspicions, or negative feelings. The employees may never do anything with those photos, but they will have evidence in case it’s ever needed.

Christ Hospital Comfort Room, where abortion survivors takenI know what I’m talking about. I took photos at Christ Hospital. It wasn’t as easy then. I had to carry around a disposable camera. Today almost everyone has a camera in their cell phone.

I took photos both as evidence for a day that might come when Christ Hospital called me a liar and also in case my memory started to fade and I started questioning myself.

Left’s anger over Hobby Lobby not about access to medicine

by Kelli

Hobby Lobby protestors are ill-informed. The company health plan pays for birth-control pills

Again, Hobby Lobby’s health plan pays for birth-control pills, vaginal rings, contraceptive patches, and other items to help female employees plan their pregnancies. The Left’s arguments to the contrary are — surprise, surprise — lies.

What Hobby Lobby will not cover are four contraceptive methods that its owners fear are abortifacients:

Plan B (“The Morning After Pill”)
Ella (a similar type of “emergency contraception”)
Copper Intra-Uterine Device
IUD with progestin

Rather than simply prevent sperm and ova from uniting, Hobby Lobby’s owners believe that these medications either kill human beings when they are fertilized eggs or prevent them from implanting themselves in utero, whereupon they die.

Hobby Lobby does not prevent its female employees from using any of these four types of contraceptives. However, since they believe these innovations kill babies, they simply require that any employees who want to use them buy them with their own money….

At its core, the Left’s moaning over Hobby Lobby is less about access to medicine and more about access to free stuff.

Planned Parenthood audaciously hosts “Born After Roe” events

Planned Parenthood "Born After Roe" pro-abortion anti-pro-life eventLast night Planned Parenthood Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota held a “Born After Roe Advocacy Salon” on the topic of the Supreme Court’s Hobby Lobby decision.

As near as I can tell, this is the fifth “Born After Roe” event this affiliate has held, aimed at “Planned Parenthood’s Next Generation.”

It has gone so far as to create a #bornafterroe Twitter hashtag, a dare to pro-life tweeters, really.

Planned Parenthood’s audacity is, of course, breathtaking to pro-lifers, who know it as the United States’ largest abortion provider, which has now profited from killing at least six million of the “next generation… born after Roe.”

Yet this attempt to woo those who it failed to murder before they were born exposes the abortion industry’s desperation to surmount its biggest problem: a youth replacement dearth.

Abortion advocates have at least two obstacles in this regard.

Abortion attrition

First, they have already killed many of those who would  have had a natural affinity to carry the torch – children born to like-minded parent(s). As ABC reported in “The political fertility gap” in 2006:

“The political right is having a lot more kids than the political left,” Syracuse University professor Arthur Brooks says. “The gap is actually 41%.”…

Studying numbers from the General Social Survey – a government survey of social trends – Brooks found that 100 unrelated liberal adults have 147 children, while 100 unrelated conservatives have 208 kids.

That makes a difference, Brooks says, because “80 percent of people that express a political party preference are voting like their folks.”

Hence, more Republicans….

Nevertheless, conservatives such as pollster Kellyanne Conway relished this theory about depleted Democrats.

“They’re for abortion policy, they’re for same-sex marriage, they’re for many of the agenda items that eventually mean you probably don’t have children in the household,” Conway said.

Similarly, a paper entitled, “Demographic Determinants of Trends in Public Opinion about Abortion in the United States,” prepared for the Population Association of America in 2012, found the fertility gap to be 27% when analyzing GSS statistics from 1976-2010 specifically on abortion supporters vs. abortion opponents.

It’s all so obvious.

Paying Planned Parenthood to kill *and* abuse

The second problem Planned Parenthood, et al, face is trying to entice supporters they once tried to murder.

Only the truly ignorant would agree to befriend the same people who stood ready and willing to accept payment to kill them. And I mean “ignorant” in the best sense of the word – those who haven’t thought it through.

Planned Parenthood trades cheap sex for the real deal, fix is abortionOne reason ignorant youth haven’t thought it through is because the abortion industry has tried to throw the scent off the trail by (often successfully) enticing them to trade cheap, promiscuous sex for the real deal.

Then they offer a variety of pre-conceptive and post-conceptive fixes for mistakes, up to the ultimate, abortion – all of which they profit from. Talk about audacious. They’re asking kids to not only love the paid assassins who missed them but pay the same people to now hurt them.

The pro-life movement’s job is not only to stop abortion but attempt to correct the destructive sexual behavior that leads to abortion.

Pro-life vid of day: Hobby Lobby protesters are ill-informed

by Hans Johnson

With political leaders like Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) saying that the Hobby Lobby case, which prevailed by a 5-4 vote in the Supreme Court, was based on “vague moral objections”, it’s no wonder that much of the public is also ignorant of the issues at stake. Of the 20 federally approved contraceptives to be subsidized, only four were objected to because they crossed the line from preventative to potentially abortifacient methods.

The Daily Signal interviewed protesters of the Court’s decision, showing which side really has “vague moral objections”:

Woman wonders if ok to keep abortion secret from baby’s dad

breakupby Carder

I am in a committed two-year-plus relationship with a great guy whom I love. We are both in our late 30s. I am not interested in marriage or having children. I am in the relationship until one of us stops enjoying it. I have been open and honest since the beginning with my feelings and desires. He really wants children and I think hopes that I am going to come around; he brings it up constantly in a light-hearted way despite our many serious talks about it.

Despite being responsible, I got pregnant and chose to have an abortion and did not tell him. I really just didn’t want to hurt him, due to how much he wants a child with me, but is this something he deserves to know?

  • Americans United for Life praises yesterday’s Supreme Court decision, with CEO Charmaine Yoest remarking that it was “a victory for common-sense as pro-life Americans do not lose their First Amendment freedoms when they open a family business or when they value unborn life”. But the battle is far from over, as “[a]bortion is woven into the healthcare law at multiple levels, making repeal of the law a pro-life necessity.”

  • Fletcher Armstrong has two excellent posts discussing pro-choicers’ attempts to use misdirection and propaganda to stifle free pro-life speech.
  • Big Blue Wave links to an article in The Atlantic about the rise of black market abortion pills, with a prediction that this will be the new front for abortion activists.
  • Euthanasia Prevention Coalition is happy to report that New Jersey has withdrawn its assisted suicide bill due to lack of support.
  • American Life League’s Judie Brown gives examples of how different organizations in our culture – like Planned Parenthood – are successfully instilling their “values” of sexual immorality into our children.
  • Abstinence Clearinghouse highlights Janice Crouse’s excellent article on the myths of recreational sex. Crouse writes:
The harsh realities of casual, drunken sex should make the choice of abstinence very simple. If there were more honest discussion of the pain caused by promiscuity, the market value of virginity would dramatically increase. Young people need to choose carefully. Sex can never be free; choices always have consequences. We cannot expect young people to act responsibly when neither adults nor the culture is providing the best possible information to encourage self-discipline and self-control, which are the surest keys to young people’s long-term well-being.
  • Live Action shares a video that clearly explains how Hobby Lobby’s refusal to embrace abortion-inducing drugs is not just about religion, but is based in science:
The case may seem confusing, because Obamacare (aka the Affordable Care Act) is confusing. But believe it or not, the science behind Hobby Lobby’s lawsuit is not confusing. In fact this simplistic video explains in under 3 minutes why the company’s owners have a problem with being forced to cover free emergency contraception in their employees’ benefits packages.
