Simon Cowell: Fatherhood “puts things in perspective”

by Carder

Simon and Eric CowellMaybe because it puts things in perspective having two people in my life who I am responsible for. There were times last year when I would live in two rooms, y’know kitchen and bedroom, in your house. It is a weird existence when you live on your own…. On the phone all night, blah blah blah. Now the house is full of people. It has become a home rather than a house….

Everyone said, “It must be turning your life upside down,” but I love it. The dogs are mad and Lauren is not exactly the most quiet person in the world.

Pro-life blog buzz 4-8-14

  • Bound4Life reports:

In January, the owner of the only abortion clinic in Flathead County, Montana was told that she had 90 days to move her business off of the premises. Little did she know the new owners of the building where her clinic was located were Michelle Reimer, Executive Director of pro-life pregnancy center Hope Pregnancy Ministries, and her husband. In a statement, Reimer told Democracy Now that the building was purchased as “a stand for the pro-life position in a legal, peaceful and non-confrontational way, purchasing the building in order to advance the cause of life.”

Certainly Genesis 50:20 applies! “You planned to harm me. But God planned it for good. He planned to do what is now being done. He wanted to save many lives.”

  • Coming Home quotes an article by Wesley J. Smith about Oxford bioethicist Julian Savulescu’s proposal of making babies via IVF, screen for intelligence,  and only implant those who possess a certain IQ. Coming Home suggests a new meaning for Ph.D:

If we are to salvage a crumbling western civilization, then the formation of our young in universities and colleges will need to be done by Ph.D.’s who understand and live the three cardinal virtues of academics: Prudence, Humility, Decorum.

  • Big Blue Wave cheers and adds, “Promote that Bishop!” He would be Bishop Thomas Paprocki, who has given his blessing to the pastor of pro-abortion U.S. Senator Dick Durbin’s home parish in Springfield, Illinois, to withhold Holy Communion, in accordance with canon 915 of the Code of Canon Law. This is important to show him the seriousness of his actions and to restore him spiritually.
  • Josh Brahm is asking us to start thinking ahead for next year’s March for Life and consider how we can use our signage and chanting more effectively:

I would just really love for the people of the pro-life movement to be represented as what they hopefully are, caring and thoughtful. I don’t think that is necessarily what is being seen now.
  • Down on the Pharm posts “Adams’ abortion commentary,” a satirical take on why abortion good, or was it?
Adam tried to go farther and crazier than the abortion supporters of today to elicit the laughter from his peers.  The problem is that being crazier than the abortion extremists is impossible, and that’s what has some people  wondering if Adam was kidding.Decide for yourself…

  • Kansans for Life applauds Senator Pat Roberts for his proposed legislation, “Repeal Rationing in Support of Life Act.” See video here.

Mary Kay Culp, executive director of Kansans for Life, stated, “Obamacare authorizes Washington bureaucrats to create one uniform, national standard of care that is designed to limit what private citizens are allowed to spend to save their own lives. We commend Senator Roberts for his bill and his consistent leadership to end Obamacare’s rationing.”
  • American Life League advises you to be careful what you sign.  Physician Orders for Life-Sustaining Treatment may sound like it has your best interest at heart, but ALL advises that it is another of several laws being proposed to further strengthen the ability of the hospital or long term care facility to make your signature mandatory, and even allow physicians to sign for you if they think it is in your best interest.  Even more frightening is that these are being given to those not terminally ill. The words “cost savings” are becoming a familiar sound bite.

Wichita abortion/sex change clinic marks one year anniversary with death count

YcHk7.SlMa.80

South Wind Women’s Center, housed in the Wichita abortion clinic formerly operated by murdered late-term abortionist George Tiller, just marked its one-year anniversary by announcing how many babies it had killed since opening. An article strangely removed from the Wichita Eagle’s website (and from which all other news sources are quoting), but cached on the abortion mill’s website, shares the exciting news:

South Wind Women’s Center says it provided about 1,200 abortions in its first year…..

No clinic offered abortions in Wichita after Tiller died until South Wind opened.

South Wind said it has seen a total of about 1,500 patients for reproductive care, including abortions up to 14 weeks. Patients have come from across the state and from a few other states, such as Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas.

Patient numbers are “right in line with our projections,” said Julie Burkhart [pictured above], founder of Trust Women, which raised money to open the clinic April 3, 2013. “I feel, of course, positive about that. We have women coming to see us.”

Good news, the clinic is still in the red:

The clinic is still paying off debt from opening, she said, “but the numbers are on track, financially on track.”

Maybe that is why Burkhart has opened another funding stream, sex change hormone therapy…

2014-04-07_0945

I was always curious why one of South Wind’s abortionists, Cheryl Chastine, is so obsessed with the transgender issue. (Search “trans” on her Twitter feed for an idea.) Now I know.

2014-04-08_0703One of South Wind’s branding problems, though, is it calls itself a “women’s” center, a gender reference the transgender community doesn’t like (the reason why you will lately see abortion proponents using the term “pregnant people” rather than “pregnant women.” Pro-lifers should use the term “pregnant mothers.”) This is surely why it has given itself an additional name, which shows up nowhere on Google, as if it simply decided to also call itself Wichita Medical Center, PA, their corporate identity.

Back to abortionists, South Wind is still relying on circuit riders, the very nature of which nullifies any possibility of a “doctor-patient relationship,” which abortion proponents love to tout. And circuit riders are much more costly. It takes at least one abortion to pay just for their travel expenses. From the ghost Wichita Eagle story:

South Wind is flying in doctors to provide abortion care. It won’t name those doctors because of Tiller’s death. A doctor who helped open the clinic left in May, returning to her practice.

Paying for doctors to travel to Wichita “is not the situation we would like to have,” Burkhart said. “I do think in time we will find more people in this region who are willing to come forward.”

NYC’s tanning salons, eateries inspected; abortion clinics not no much

Vera-Kristin-choices-2012-300x225The state Health Department is failing to inspect many of New York’s abortion clinics – with some facilities escaping scrutiny for more than a decade, bombshell documents obtained by The Post reveal….

Eight of the 25 clinics were never inspected over the 2000-12 span, five were inspected just once, and eight were inspected only twice or three times – meaning once every four or six years.

A total of just 45 inspections were conducted at all 25 facilities during the 12-year period.

By comparison, city eateries are inspected every year and graded, while a new law requires tanning salons to undergo inspections at least once every other year….

[Kermit] Gosnell’s [Pennsylvania] clinic hadn’t been checked for 15 years before inspectors raided his facility in an unrelated prescription investigation and stumbled upon a house of horrors.

“New York has one of the highest abortion rates in the country. More oversight is needed. Abortion clinics are as much a public concern as tanning salons. There should be regular inspections of all licensed abortion clinics,” [Chiaroscuro Foundation executive director Greg] Pfundstein said.

Pro-life vid of the day: Pakistani baby accused of attempted murder

by LauraLoo

We know that life can be stranger than fiction and this story is no exception.

Mohammad Musa, a nine-month-old Pakistani baby boy, has been accused of attempted murder.

Per the family’s lawyer, Chaudhry Irfan Sadiq, Mohammad and other family members were booked for throwing rocks at gas company officials in the working-class Ahata Thanedaran neighborhood.  Observers say this clearly highlights endemic flaws in the country’s legal system.

“Love & Hip Hop New York” star: Abortion not an option

Amina BuddaflyThat was never a question for me. When I found out, I was really shocked at the reunion, it was all new for me. But there was never really a question at my age…

I always knew that if I get pregnant at any time I’m not going to have an abortion.

So, it is what it is.
