Planned Parenthood worries it’s “on the menu”

Planned Parenthood tweeted the graphic below this afternoon, and I loved it so much I had to share it.

The only item I’m unsure of on Planned Parenthood’s checklist of horrors is, “Introduce medically unnecessary regulations targeting doctors who provide abortion.”

I know on Wednesday Senator David Vitter introduced the Title X Abortion Provider Prohibition Act, Abortion Nondiscrimination Act, and Prenatal Nondiscrimination Act, but only HuffPo has reported he also introduced an admitting privileges bill. Waiting for more word on that.

And I loved the line, “If we’re not at the table, were on the menu” – a little taste of what it feels like.

  • Life Training Institute shares an article from The Failed Atheist on the oft-heard saying regarding a pregnancy: “Just as long as it’s healthy.” Of course everyone wants a healthy baby, but what does the Christian faith say about loving those who have less than perfect health?

This is not a normal way to view ones children but part of a dehumanizing culture that has made an idol out of health and wellbeing. We have trouble understanding that someone who may be in poor health or have a disability can be happy, our assumption is that those things equal a sub-par human existence which is not necessarily true. You do not need to be a healthy human being to be a good, influential or heroic one….

Lakey.” What is good is that the health risks of abortion to women is a point of discussion.

Guttmacher hostile abortion states

  • Live Action News lauds the good work of the 18 states Guttmacher currently rates as hostile to abortion. Is your state among them (pictured right; click to enlarge)? If not, what can you do to get your state this badge of honor in 2015?
  • Americans United for Life is still hard at work defending the conscience rights of Americans not to be forced under Obamacare to pay for life-ending drugs and devices:

While Congressional hearings look into admitted deceptions that made possible the passage of Obamacare, too little attention is being paid to the reality that the Obama Administration is doing everything it can to force unwilling, conscientious Americans to pay for drugs and devices that can end the lives of developing human beings,” said Dr. Yoest. “As a result, AUL has filed now 24 briefs to support pro-life Americans who are victims and potential victims of governmental abuse of power against the First Amendment conscience rights of Americans.”

Editor of pro-abortion website claims there’s no difference between Islamic terrorists and Christian pro-lifers

Jodi Jacobson, editor-in-chief of the pro-abortion website RH Reality Check, claimed today on Twitter there is no difference between Islamic terrorists and Christian pro-lifers, as documented by blackcommunitynews.com.

As displayed at the bottom of bcn’s post, Jodi and I got into it a bit as well…

What started it all was this tweet by Jodi….

Jacobson’s tweet started out sounding like a joke. “Man walks into a bar. Sees the Pope, Muhammed, a rabbi, and an Evangelical….”

I find it hard to believe Jacobson is really so foolish as a feminist to defend the Muslim faith.

Does she really not realize which one of those four would shut her smart mouth up but fast – likely with finality, maybe after he cut off her nose – while the rest would and do tolerate her twaddle?

Pro-life vid of day: First trimester baby’s “gymnastics” routine

by Kelli

FaithTap reposts a YouTube ultrasound video from Sherine Gayle-Slater, who writes:

At an impromptu sonogram at my ob-gyn we saw our unborn daughter swinging from her umbilical cord. It looks like she was performing gymnastics.

Although the statement at FaithTap says the baby shown is 8 weeks, Sherine states that she was somewhere between 8 and 12 weeks – within the first trimester – which is when most abortions take place.

Planned Parenthood: Je Suis Bébé Terroriste

Planned Parenthood Mar Monte has posted a tribute to the employees of Charlie Hebdo who were gunned down by Islamic terrorists on January 7. Charlie Hebdo is a satirical news organization in France, and “Je Suis Charlie” is French for “I am Charlie.” Planned Parenthood lit one candle for each of the 12 people who were massacred….

The massacre at Charlie Hebdo took the terrorists about 20 minutes to complete.

Meanwhile, Planned Parenthood freely admits it murdered 327,653 babies – just in the U.S. – in 2014. That’s about 12 babies every 20 minutes.

Here is a more accurate graphic portraying Planned Parenthood as the terrorist organization it really is….

Which begs the question…

Minaj’s abortion story was good because of war on women?

Minajby Carder

And while some may criticize her for not “keeping her business to herself,” I’m extremely glad that she didn’t stay silent.

For starters, while a handful of Black celebs have talked about having abortions (Vanessa Williams and Sherri Shepherd come to mind), it’s rare that young Black celebs speak out.

And largely, the public narrative around who has accessed this safe and legal (depending on where you live) medical procedure, has been centered on white women - further perpetuating this notion that abortion is a white woman’s issue and that they are the only ones who are deeply impacted by the current war on women.

In reality, this couldn’t be further from the truth. African-American women have the highest abortion rates in the U.S.

~ Kellee Terrell, explaining why she is ever-so-grateful that rapper Nicki Minaj came out with her abortion story, BET, January 6

Hey AHA, like Rod Serling said…

… a risky assumption to begin with.

And brings us to the group Abolish Human Abortion, which, like Planned Parenthood, is opposing the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act.

Here’s AHA’s reasoning. Click to enlarge…

10912282_10100482509903652_863750566_o

I have little patience for this debate. Incremental legislation is very real to me, since I physically held an abortion victim who AHA would casually shrug off in the morally superior position it fancies itself to take by opposing it.

And, as I’ve written before, there is actually no such thing as pure, unadulterated, non-incremental legislation. A state personhood initiative leaves out preborn babies marked for death in 49 other states, more than any rape exception does. Even a personhood amendment to the U.S. Constitution ignores all vulnerable preborn babies in the rest of the world.

Whatever, let’s analyze AHA’s rationale, as outlined in the above graphic, for opposing the 20-wk abortion ban.

I asked several pro-life leaders for comment.

Seth Drayer of Created Equal:

The most glaring problem is not a new one - the language of “allowing” some to be killed while preferring others. To illustrate, conductors on the Underground Railroad didn’t bring every slave to freedom. Does that mean those who perished under the whip of slavery did so with the permission or blessing of the conductors? Certainly not. They weren’t allowing other Blacks to be enslaved. They just didn’t have the means to save them all.

Similarly, they paint incrementalists as looking at the pool of preborn children and saving some while knowingly permitting the killing of others. That is disingenuous.

To correct their analogy, the proposed bill is more akin to driving that bus through a city where blacks are being lynched, opening the doors, and cramming as many as possible into the bus. Now, there are limitations. The bus can’t fit everyone in. So, yes, some will get left behind. But it’s not because you didn’t want to save them. It’s because there are limitations to your bus.

But you can fill your bus with as many of the victims as possible or pontificate on the sidelines of how it must be wrong until you can save them all. I choose the former.

Troy Newman of Operation Rescue:

Roe and Doe put every child under a death sentence, and the courts have upheld the murder. Therefore, ALL we can do is eat away at the law and save as many as we can. We do not prefer one baby to be killed over another one.

I like the Nazi analogy. All Jews were slated for death, but people did what they could to save as many as they could.

Exactly. To claim a pro-life incremental law marks those not covered in it for death is fraudulent. Every U.S. preborn baby is already, quite literally, on the chopping block.

An even more fitting example during the Nazi era would be Irena Sendler, who saved what children she could from death in the Warsaw Ghetto.

Eric Scheidler of Pro-Life Action League:Week 4 AHA posters

Another analogy to the era of slavery would be to fugitive slave laws in some northern states that sought to provide some legal protection of escaped slaves, or to laws banning slavery in a particular state (like Illinois, most famously, in the Dred Scott case).

These states could do nothing to end slavery (even for slaves residing in their states with masters from slave states, as SCOTUS ruled in Dred Scott), so they did what they could to diminish its impact.

The Dred Scott example is interesting in light of AHA’s “Remember Dred, Abolish Roe” mantra. They call Dred Scott a horrible decision (as it was), but the Illinois law Scott was seeking to be protected by (which as I understand it said masters forfeited their ownership of slaves by living in Illinois) is one they would have denounced as “compromise,” according to the logic they apply to pro-life laws today.

When we find ourselves on the same side as our enemy, we have to ask: Has the enemy converted, or have I?

In this case pro-aborts have certainly not converted. They are fighting for the continued freedom to murder preborn babies 20 weeks and older.

So is AHA.

Two significant pro-life bills introduced during 1st week of new Congress

capitol-sun-575Representative Diane Black just issued a press statement announcing that she, along with Reps. Bill Flores, Jackie Walorski, Chris Smith, Joe Pitts, and over 80 House cosponsors, have reintroduced the Title X Abortion Provider Prohibition Act,” which would prohibit any organization that provide abortions from receiving Title X Family Planning dollars.

In other words, the bill would defund Planned Parenthood.

This bill follows the reintroduction in the House by Representatives Marsha Blackburn and Trent Franks of the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act on Day 1 of the new Congress, which would ban abortions past 20 weeks.

The latter bill passed 228-196 in the House in June 2013. Its companion in the Senate, sponsored by Senator Lindsey Graham, did not see the light of day under Democrat Majority Leader Harry Reid’s tenure.

But now, as NARAL recently noted, the Senate pro-abortion “firewall” is gone. Graham plans to reintroduce his bill “in the next few weeks,” and new pro-life Senate leader Mitch McConnell has promised it will get a vote.

The rush to introduce significant pro-life legislation comes as a record number of pro-life women – 21 – join congressional ranks, a higher percentage of Christians, and more Republicans since WWII.

Cortney O’Brien at RedState.com notes “this just may be the most pro-life Congress Washington has ever seen.” We can only hope and pray.

While pro-abortion/infanticide President Barack Obama is the abortion lobby’s ultimate firewall, and he has already promised to veto the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act should it reach his desk, he will now “be forced to listen to the cause… [and] Senate Democrats would be forced to take a stand,” according to McConnell.

In 2011, Obama said he would shut down the government in order to keep funding Planned Parenthood. He and Democrats will again be forced to defend that corrupt abortion behemoth as well.

I would not look forward to rationalizing opposition to either bill, let alone both at the same time.

5b60d770Do not forget a conversation about late-term abortions and Planned Parenthood is critical to educating and persuading the public.

Such a conversation about partial-birth abortions is credited with changing public opinion over the eight long years it took to enact it a law blocking it.

UPDATE 1/9 11:15a: But wait, there’s more! On Wednesday Senator David Vitter introduced the Title X Abortion Provider Prohibition Act, Abortion Nondiscrimination Act, and Prenatal Nondiscrimination Act.
