Pro-abortion “holiday cards” feature babies and IUD snowflakes

by Jill

While Planned Parenthood has largely abandoned its “Choice on Earth” Christmas greetings and cards,  there are still a few invaliant pro-abortion attempts to hijack this sacred Christian holiday.

The Guttmacher Institute, a pro-abortion research organization founded by Planned Parenthood, offered to send your someone special a “limited edition holiday card” featuring babies, children, and families for a donation of only $50. Click to enlarge…

Meanwhile, the inventive Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts used IUDs and birth control pills to create a snowflake “holiday card”…

Christmas makes the abortion industry so uncomfortable. After all, it celebrates the birth of a baby, and not just any baby but a baby who was destined to be the Savior of humans from eternal hell.

The upside is abortion clinics across the U.S. were closed on December 25, giving many preborn babies a one-day reprieve, and undoubtedly some of their mothers a change of heart.

I’m sure these abodes of hell on earth would rather be open for business, but somehow aborting one’s baby on this particular day is dreadfully unappealing, I’m sure not only for pregnant mothers but also abortion workers.

Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards sent an email fundraising appeal on December 24 entitled, “Special Delivery,” which thanked donors for signing notes of gratitude to abortion workers. An intentional play on words? To be sure. Click to enlarge…

Kwanzaa’s political roots

by Carder

holiday-heroesWhile taking the “best of early Chinese and Cuban socialism” — excluding, one hopes, mass murder, forced abortions, imprisonment of homosexuals and forced labor — Karenga said Kawaida practitioners believe one’s racial identity “determines life conditions, life chances and self-understanding.”

There’s an inclusive philosophy for you!

~ Conservative pundit Ann Coulter exposing the Marxist/socialist roots of Kwanzaa, Townhall, December 24

Christmas Day vids: From the simple to the sublime

by Hans Johnson

This holiday is a mixture of family memories and sacred worship. First, we have one man’s lesson from a Christmas past, called “The Christmas Scale”:

Next are the chapters of Handel’s Messiah depicting the announcement of The Good News to the shepherds in the field:

Pro-life vid of the day: The Christmas truce

by Hans Johnson

On Christmas Eve exactly 100 years ago during World War I, soldiers on both sides paused hostilities to exchange gifts and play soccer. The greatest war in human history was being fought for the pettiest of reasons – more out of misunderstandings and “hurt feelings” than for  any territorial dispute. But on one silent night, it was agreed upon to observe  “peace on Earth”, if ever so briefly.

This dramatization is from Sainsbury’s, a U.K. supermarket chain, which is donating all proceeds from its chocolate to The Royal British League.

The story behind a children’s literary classic

LoveYouForeverby Carder

I made that up after my wife and I had two babies born dead. The song was my song to my dead babies. For a long time I had it in my head and I couldn’t even sing it because every time I tried to sing it I cried. It was very strange having a song in my head that I couldn’t sing.

For a long time it was just a song but one day, while telling stories at a big theatre at the University of Guelph, it occurred to me that I might be able to make a story around the song.

Out popped Love You Forever, pretty much the way it is in the book.

Pro-life blog buzz 12-23-14

pro-lifeby Susie Allen, host of the blog, Pro-Life in TN, and Kelli

  • ProLife365 has a humorous post on the benefits of having a large family.
  • Saynsumthn’s Blog reports on the pro-abortion Unitarian Church’s Alternative Gift List for 2014. Topping their list: Give to a center for abused children or perhaps donate to Planned Parenthood, the nation largest promoter and provider of abortions. Talk about the ultimate child abuse – death by dismemberment – and the ultimate in compartmentalization.
  • Right to Life of Michigan is deeply disappointed that a 20-hour, all night session to address over 100 bills in the state left two bills on coercive abortions to die without a vote being taken. They will have to be reintroduced next year.
  • Wesley J. Smith discusses two recent cases in which pregnant women – declared brain dead – are being kept artificially alive so they can deliver their babies by c-section. In one case in Milan, the family is in agreement to continue life support until the baby can be safely delivered, but in the other case in Ireland the family wants the pregnant woman and her child to be allowed to die. Smith writes:

Why the dripping disdain? Anger at Ireland’s anti-abortion laws is the pretext.
But is this case really about abortion?

I understand the family can’t move on. That has got to be terribly painful.

But how is the woman hurt in any way? Her life isn’t affected. She’s gone. Her body isn’t being harmed, but it is benefiting her child – just as she did before her brain failed.

Would the same people think it wrong to try and save the baby in a mechanical incubator? I suspect so. Because, well, the baby should be dead.

Pro-life vid of day: Five reasons to celebrate abortionist’s arrest

by Hans Johnson

Abortionist Dr. Naresh Patel, after years of serious accusations, is finally under arrest after an undercover sting found he was prescribing RU-486 to patients who were not pregnant.

Pro-Life Action League’s Eric Scheidler notes the reasons to be grateful for taking this Gosnellian soldier in the actual War On Women off the streets.
