TONIGHT: March for Life trip planner webinar!

2014-10-20_1643

trip_planner_3d-858x1024As March for Life organizers wrote, “It’s hard to believe that it is less than 100 days to the March for Life on January 22, 2015!” I agree!

Tonight, March for Life is hosting a live online video Google Chat to discuss planning your trip to D.C.

I’ll be on from my home office bunker discussing how to think about attending the March (as a pilgrimage – see M4L’s awesome trip planner).

I’ll also discuss how to use the March to not only publicize its sheer immensity, which the mainstream media perpetually ignores, but also to educate friends and family via social media about the pro-life issue.

Sign up NOW to watch the event live! You can also submit questions. Go to the link for details.

Here is a short list of movie suggestions to watch on the long car/bus ride to the March, most courtesy of the pro-life group Created Equal, although there are many others:

Pro-life vid of day: Planned Parenthood’s 3% abortion myth

by Hans Johnson

Probably the most common tactic in argument is the attempt to deflect attention here, there, and everywhere – anywhere but the topic at hand.  The pro-choice supporter hides behind talk of “women’s issues” and “women’s health” in an attempt to throw a cold blanket over the burning issue of abortion.

Nowhere is there a better example of this than in Planned Parenthood’s claim that only a tiny part of their “services” have to do with abortion. As Students for Life shows in this video, PP is engaging in serious deception and has turned the saying about not being able to “see the forest for the trees” on its head.

Mother wins right to kill non-terminally ill, disabled daughter

nancyfitzmauriceby Kelli

We were constantly in and out of hospital. She never developed more than a six-month-old child.

Simple things like birds singing and hearing children play would put the most beautiful smile on her face. She loved Michael Buble and when I slurped my tea she would give out a hearty chuckle. I gave her the best quality of life she could possibly have….

She was screaming and writhing in agony 24 hours a day. Not being able to ease her suffering was too much to bear….

She wasn’t my angelic child any more, she was a shell. I wanted beautiful memories of Nancy, not soul-crushing ones. After a whole weekend of her screaming in agony, I decided I wasn’t going to watch my little girl suffer any more.

~ Charlotte Fitzmaurice, mother of disabled 12-year-old Nancy Fitzmaurice (pictured), who was starved and dehydrated to death in August after her mother petitioned courts to end Nancy’s life, Inquisitr.com, October 26

The UK’s Mirror notes, “In a landmark decision, Justice King immediately granted Charlotte’s request. Nancy died 14 days later at London’s Great Ormond Street with her family around her after fluids were withdrawn.

The ruling sets a precedent. It is the first time a child breathing on her own, not on life support and not suffering a terminal illness has been allowed to die.”

Pro-life vid: ND Measure 1 ad notes need for informed consent

nd-514x375by Kelli

Our own former lead moderator at JillStanek.com, Carla Stream, ministers regularly to those with post-abortion regret. In today’s video, which is an ad in favor of North Dakota’s Measure 1, she discusses how informed consent laws like those in ND could have saved her baby from abortion and spared her a lifetime of regret.

ND’s Measure 1 seeks to keep in place common-sense pro-life laws passed in the state, where even physicians have voiced their support for the measure. Says NDChooseLife.com:

Reflecting our community values of supporting life, North Dakota’s legislature has passed a variety of strong, common-sense pro-life laws. These include ensuring that women are given full disclosure of information prior to an abortion, providing that abortion can only be performed by licensed physicians with hospital admitting privileges to protect women in case of emergencies, making sure parents are notified if their daughter is seeking an abortion, and prohibiting the gruesome partial-birth abortion procedure.

In North Dakota and over a dozen other states, out of state interest groups have filed lawsuits seeking to invalidate these common sense pro-life laws and impose an unlimited right to abortion that goes beyond Roe v. Wade. Last year, these outside groups convinced a judge in Fargo to overturn a pro-life law passed by the Legislature. The judge ruled that the state constitution contains a “right” to abortion that jeopardizes every pro-life law in North Dakota.

By passing the Human Life Amendment, we will protect our common-sense pro-life laws and prevent this type of judicial activism from happening in the future.

Mom of child with Down syndrome to Disney: Feature disabled characters

Disney petitionby Carder

Disney does a great job of depicting right from wrong. It has long providing wonderful moral lessons that teach our children to be good people — but sadly, the company comes up short in one critical area. Its movies have almost no representation of disabled people, those often bullied and looked down upon by their fellow children.

What wonderful lessons of diversity, compassion, and acceptance Disney could teach our kids if they promoted disabled characters as heroes and heroines in their beloved movies!

Stanek Sunday Word: “The LORD formed me in the womb to be his servant”

2gvt2r6

The LORD formed me in the womb to be his servant in order to bring back his people, to bring back the scattered people of Israel. The Lord gives me honor; he is the source of my strength.

Stanek wkend Q: Is San Antonio’s new mega-abortion center the pro-life movement’s fault?

sanantonioIn response to my October 21 post, “Pro-life activists infiltrate Planned Parenthood mega-abortion center under construction,” Abolish Human Abortion has written a “we told you so”:

We are not bragging about this or simply saying we told you so. But the fact of the matter is this, these big state of the art killing centers that Planned Parenthood is building all over the country are the unintentional (yet iniquitous) fruit of the pro-life movement.

“Planned Parenthood of South Texas CEO Jeffrey Hons bragged to the San Antonio-Express News ’an outcome that backers of HB2 probably didn’t envision’ was Planned Parenthood’s expansion will enable it to commit late-term abortions. Currently, Planned Parenthood only kills babies in the first trimester. Hons also credited the new pro-life law with a bump in the number of abortions his affiliate will now commit, ‘about 2,800… a year – an increase of 1,000 over the number provided two years ago, before HB2.'”

Guess who was RIGHT all along…AHA!!! (AHA DID envision this…they called it and were discounted, disregarded, ridiculed, and mocked by many in the PLM!) The sad thing is, they still won’t admit the incrementalist / regulation strategy is making the abortion giant PP STRONGER and codifying abortion more deeply into law as “healthcare” and a “safe, legal option” for women. We gotta do SOMETHING!?!?! How’s that working out for ya?” –Julia Saxton Schoch

Mark Harrington of Created Equal responded:

Julie .. and you believe PP? Could it be that the comment was aimed at PLers who have the entire state of Texas’ abortion providers on the run. PP is saying this because that is what they want people to think. Of course, I know I was just there … PP has told other abortion providers that they want to be the only provider in the state. I am surprised that you of all people fell for this. This article in the SA paper is all about PP flexing their muscles against others in the industry and trying to spin the disastrous results of the law to their own advantage.

The fact remains there were 41 abortion clinics throughout the state of Texas in 2013, and now there are eight. Planned Parenthood’s graphic nicely demonstrates the 81% decline…

As an aside, Planned Parenthood CEO Jeffrey Hons stated the abortion giant “started to plan for the new building long before the new regulations,” because Planned Parenthood’s other abortion clinic was almost 40 years old. This clinic will replace that one as well as a feeder clinic, more consolidation, in actuality.

But what are your thoughts? Despite Planned Parenthood’s new mega-abortion clinic, do you view the outcome of Texas’s 2013 omnibus abortion law as a positive regarding the saving of lives, or a negative? Also take the poll…
