Pro-life blog buzz 3-3-15

  • Live Action News says the new interactive game “Fusion” (on a website that includes writers like the founding editor of pro-abortion, profane Jezebel) in which players pretend to lead a South Dakota woman through several supposedly real-life scenarios – but they all suggest abortion is the correct answer to the dilemma. Hmm, no agenda there:

What if the woman does choose to keep the baby?

If she chooses to have the woman keep the baby, then she either still ends up having the abortion because of a partial placental abruption, or she has the baby and ends up sick, in premature labor, and with mountains of debt.

What does China’s impending weapons dominance have to do with abortion?

From Investors Business Daily, January 29:

Arms Buildup: A senior weapons developer tells Congress that Beijing’s massive defense buildup, emphasizing precision-guided and other advanced weapons, has placed the U.S. and its shrinking military at serious risk.

Liberals drool over idea that politicians may become pro-choice

by Kelli Ryan identifies as Catholic and previously described himself as pro-life. He has supported several pieces of anti-abortion legislation during his time in Congress — including restrictions on minors seeking abortions, a ban on embryonic stem cell research, and a ban on so-called “partial birth” abortions. But, according to his new op-ed, Ryan has […]

  • Life Training Institute shares an article from The Failed Atheist on the oft-heard saying regarding a pregnancy: “Just as long as it’s healthy.” Of course everyone wants a healthy baby, but what does the Christian faith say about loving those who have less than perfect health?

This is not a normal way to view ones children but part of a dehumanizing culture that has made an idol out of health and wellbeing. We have trouble understanding that someone who may be in poor health or have a disability can be happy, our assumption is that those things equal a sub-par human existence which is not necessarily true. You do not need to be a healthy human being to be a good, influential or heroic one….

Two significant pro-life bills introduced during 1st week of new Congress

capitol-sun-575Representative Diane Black just issued a press statement announcing that she, along with Reps. Bill Flores, Jackie Walorski, Chris Smith, Joe Pitts, and over 80 House cosponsors, have reintroduced the Title X Abortion Provider Prohibition Act,” which would prohibit any organization that provide abortions from receiving Title X Family Planning dollars.

House Speaker John Boehner Holds Weekly News Conference

You’ll recall that in August the California Department of Managed Health Care issued a mandate requiring all insurance issuers to immediately add surgical and RU-486 abortion coverage to their plans, even those for nonprofit religious institutions and churches.

  • Suzy B agrees with pro-choice forces on a lawsuit against the alleged discrimination against pregnant employees in the workplace:

Both pro-life and pro-choice groups have filed amicus briefs on behalf of Peggy Young. The Women’s Law Project and Legal Momentum argued that the previous ruling in favor of UPS was incorrect on the basis of “misconceiving gender stereotypes in pregnancy discrimination.” Americans United for Life has filed an amicus brief, which the Susan B. Anthony List, among other pro-life groups have signed on to, coming from a different approach, standing up for the unborn and women. The brief argues that in creating the Pregnancy Discrimination Act, Congress was trying to “protect women from economic pressure to abort their children because of pregnancy discrimination.”

Record number of pro-life women headed to Congress

The Congress that convenes in January will have at least 21 pro-life women, breaking a high of 18 following the 2010 elections. ~ Susan B.
