Students for Life “I Vote Pro-Life First” campus tour, featuring – me!
I’ve gone from never participating in a pro-life bus tour to traveling with two tours for a total of three weeks over a span of six weeks, oy!

On September 10 Washington Post “fact checker” Josh Hicks (pictured right) picked apart the Susan B. Anthony List ad featuring abortion survivor Melissa Ohden, which called out Barack Obama for voting against the Illinois Born Alive Infant Protection Act four times when state senator. The ad:
When he was in the Illinois state Senate, Barack Obama voted to deny basic constitutional protections for babies born alive from an abortion – not once, but four times. I know it’s by the grace of God that I’m alive today, if only to ask America this question: Is this the kind of leadership that will lead us forward – that would discard the weakest among us?
Bizarrely, the only point Hicks could find to quibble with was the word “discard.” Was Ohden claiming she was “discarded”? Hicks pressed, apparently expecting late-term abortionists to cuddle babies they just aborted.

On August 31 artist Jon McNaughton debuted an “interactive painting he has created with 60 symbols that detail the ‘Obamanation’ of the Barack Obama Presidency,” according to Fox News.
One of the most fascinating aspects of the painting is you can scroll over it on McNaughton’s website for detailed explanations of all the symbols. Three depict Obama pushing his anti-life agenda. Click to enlarge…

(HT to Erick Erickson at RedState.com for the headline. I’ll get to Erick’s excellent post in a sec.)
Right now I am in Sioux City, Iowa, preparing to begin a 10 day, 30 city, 6 state bus tour today with the Susan B. Anthony List team.
My entire focus and role on the tour is to expose Barack Obama’s radical support of infanticide as part and parcel of the Roe v. Wade decision legalizing abortion, as he saw it and said it. As Illinois state senator Obama opposed the Illinois Born Alive Infant Protection Act, designed to give abortion survivors constitutional rights. Obama said giving premature born babies rights would be unconstitutional. Period. That’s what he said. Read page 86 of the senate floor transcript, when Obama was the only senator to speak against Born Alive. Read what Obama said very carefully:
To this day, even when speaking to pro-lifers, I still so often hear, “I didn’t know Obama was that bad on abortion!” when I tell about my experience with him as state senator and his opposition to the Illinois Born Alive Infant Protection Act. Students for Life of America found in a recent poll of young Americans that his support sank by 43% among undecided voters when they learned of his radical support of infanticide.
The Susan B. Anthony List is going to spotlight exactly that during a 10-day battleground state bus tour beginning August 20, and I’m thrilled to have been invited along for the ride.
Press release…
Edward Klein’s unauthorized biography of Barack Obama, The Amateur, was released yesterday.
While I appreciate that Klein devoted a chapter of his book, albeit only three pages, to Obama’s opposition as state senator to the Illinois Born Alive Infant Protection Act, he got it pretty much all wrong. You can read the chapter at the link above, but here is the relevant section:
On February 28 CNN’s Wolf Blitzer tried to play gotcha with Newt Gingrich regarding Gingrich’s statement during a recent Republican debate that the mainstream media had failed to scrutinize presidential candidate Barack Obama in 2008 regarding his opposition as state senator to the Illinois Born Alive Infant Protection Act. Blitzer, attempting to prove that at […]
