• Judie Brown of American Life League calls out Cardinal Dolan’s hypocrisy in inviting President Obama to the Al Smith Dinner.While Dolan claimed on his own blog that dining with sinners is Christlike and that to disinvite opponents would leave him dining alone, Dolan declined an invitation to offer the opening prayer at a 2009 Pro-Life Wisconsin banquet because Brown (who has publicly castigated bishops) was going to be the keynote speaker:

  On the one hand, he found it problematic that I led and continue to lead a campaign to beseech Catholic bishops to obey canon 915 and deny Holy Communion to pro-abortion politicians. On the other hand, he finds it Christlike to dine with the most pro-abortion president in the history of this nation.

Democrats and feminists have mounted a sustained attack against Missouri U.S. Senate candidate Todd Akin for using the term “legitimate” rape, feigning horror at the implication there might be such a thing as “illegitimate” rape.

One liberal of distinction notably missing from the conversation is Whoopi Goldberg, who in 2009 defended director Roman Polanski by claiming his rape of a 13-yr-old in 1977 “wasn’t rape-rape,” she said. ” I think it was something else, but I don’t believe it was rape-rape.”

The conveniently ignored reality today is that just as men can victimize women by rape, women can victimize men by falsely accusing them of rape. It’s as old as the book of Genesis…

• At Jezebel, one anonymous woman who describes herself as “a visible pro-choice advocate and public figure,” explains why she won’t “come out” about her abortion and openly wonders if efforts by pro-choice groups to have women share their abortion experiences does more harm than good for the pro-choice movement.

Until now pro-abortion groups have opposed state and federal bans against sex selective abortions by simply denying they exist, for instance Jezebel only six days ago:

[I]n the U.S., there’s no evidence or noteworthy numbers to indicate that women are having abortions based on the sex of the infant….

Apparently, abortion industry leaders have decided they can no longer carry on the ruse. Public opinion is so persuaded against sex-selective abortion, the other side must have decided they have to enter the conversation in order to remain players and try to influence the outcome.

The first to fall was Guttmacher Institute in its Spring 2012 Policy Review, published sometime after May 1:

Yesterday the pro-abortion website Jezebel posted a hit piece against an investigative video released by the pro-life group Live Action that showed a Planned Parenthood employee helping facilitate what she thought was a sex-selective abortion.

Jezebel’s (lame) hit was to be expected. But the headline must have slipped by editors…

“Rascals”? Lol. But the bigger faux pas was asking whether Live Action could prove Planned Parenthood facilitates sex selective abortions. We now know that answer is yes. Oops.

I reported earlier this week that Planned Parenthood had rejected a $500,000 donation from bestselling author Tucker Max because his writings are misogynistic toward women.

The plan was for Planned Parenthood to name one of its clinics after Max. But according to his publicist in a Forbes piece, Planned Parenthood became concerned about the “perception” of Max’s writing, which could be “perceived in a certain negative manner,” rendering his donation inappropriate, “given Planned Parenthood’s mission.”
