  • Five abortion clinics in the Pittsburgh area have closed since Pennsylvania passed new abortion clinic regulations. Four of the clinics voluntarily shut down, while Stephen Brigham’s American Women Services was closed by the state. Planned Parenthood, always playing the victim, is complaining about the extra business:

Two registered facilities remain in Pittsburgh, records show.

“There’s just no providers,” [Planned Parenthood of Western Pennsylvania spokeswoman Rebecca] Cavanaugh said.

Gosnell verdict reached

Gosnell 416

2:27p: Per CNN’s David Ariosto (via Twitter): ‘The jury in the Philadelphia abortion doctor Kermit Gosnell case has reached a verdict on all 263 counts.”

Live Action “Inhuman” video #4, Carhart: Preborn babies “like meat in a crock pot”

Today, Live Action released the fourth video in its new investigative series, “Inhuman: Undercover in America’s late-term abortion industry.”

This video features one of the stars of this year’s Sundance Film Festival, late-term abortionist LeRoy Carhart.

  • AZ Central covers Live Action’s sting of The Family Planning Associates Medical Group and got a statement from the abortion clinic:

The Family Planning Associates Medical Group’s e-mail said: “The individuals in the video were never in the position to provide direct medical care to patients undergoing second trimester abortions and no longer counsel patients at our clinic. Family Planning Associates Medical Group strictly adheres to all applicable state and federal laws regarding the delivery of abortion care.”This seems to claim that abortionist Laura Mercer wasn’t going to commit the late-term abortion and was just there to read the state-mandated law.

Live Action “Inhuman” video #2: DC abortionist wouldn’t help survivors

2013-04-29_1103

The new Live Action investigation, “Inhuman: Undercover in America’s late-term abortion industry,” is proving what pro-lifers already knew: Kermit Gosnell was no outlier, as the abortion industry and media have tried to portray him. Both overt and covert killing of abortion survivors is a component of late-term abortions.

Yesterday, Live Action released the first video in its series, which revealed a Bronx, New York, abortion counselor stating her facility would plop abortion survivors into a toxic solution to kill them. She also recommended that the pregnant investigator “flush it” if her baby delivered at home.

Today, Live Action released a second video, this one of Washington, D.C., abortionist Cesare Santengelo of the Washington Surgi-Clinic acknowledging he knew the law required him to provide medical care to abortion survivors, but he would break it:

BREAKING: Live Action launches new investigation on late-term abortions

Video #1: Infanticide in the Bronx: Abortion survivors dunked in poison

2013-04-28_0352

UDPATE, 9:42p: Also the New York Times.

UDPATE, 6:40p: Melinda Henneberger at the Washington Post is reporting on this story, as is The Daily Caller, Kathryn Jean Lopez at National Review Online, PolicyMic, Fox News, and Hot Air.

5:54a: Today, Live Action is launching a new investigative video series on late-term abortions in America: “Inhuman: Undercover in America’s Late-Term Abortion Industry.”

Was Kermit Gosnell an anomaly? Not if the findings in Live Action’s first released video are any indication.

Dr. Emily’s Women’s Health Center is a late-term abortion clinic located in the Bronx section of New York City, where a wincing 41% of pregnancies end in abortion. A Live Action investigator who was 23 weeks pregnant – with a potentially viable baby – visited this mill for shocking results.

  • Down on the Pharm highlights a report showing the abortion industry’s claim that the problem with abortionist Kermit Gosnell isn’t infanticide. The real problems – to them – are the restrictions, regulations, and lack of taxpayer funding for late-term abortions.

  • At the Washington Post, Sarah Kliff offers a mea culpa on her description of the Gosnell trial as a “local crime story” and outlines the basics.
  • The New York Times has sent reporter Trip Gabriel to the trial, and he has an article noting the role social media played in getting the national media to cover the story.
  • Here’s the Washington Post’s article with a quote from NRLC’s Mary Spaulding Balch:

“The significance of the trial is that it shows just how reluctant people are to look at what goes on in abortion facilities,” said Mary Spaulding Balch, director for state legislation for National Right to Life, a group that opposes abortion. “This is something they don’t know about, and they would be shocked to hear about it.”
