Thanks for the (blog) memories

“Who’s Jill Stanek?” Carder and Jill

That’s the question I asked myself one day as I surfed the web for pro-life news and the name Jill Stanek kept popping up. Fascinated by the rowdy debates, I knew I had found my pro-life online hangout.

This was back in 2007. Thanks to Jill, I learned about Obama before Obama became Dear Leader Obama. The connections I’ve made with committed pro-lifers, and for that matter, committed pro-choicers, remain a great memory.

Like the night MK, Carla, Hal, Jasper, Doug, and a few others had an all night thread/party that ended the following morning, with pictures of mayhem and ridiculousness rounding out an incredible bonding experience for all involved. Hal just couldn’t stop chugging those mojitos…

Porn prof accosted pro-life teen because pregnancy made her goofy

Another letter of support, also on UCSB letterhead, comes from Eileen Boris, a professor in the Department of Feminist Studies. Prof. Boris seeks clemency for her colleague, stating, “she was at the stage of a pregnancy when one is not fully one’s self fully, so the image of a severed fetus appeared threatening.” “If she […]

Pro-life news brief 10-31-13

  • Pro-lifers in Tennessee are beginning a year-long campaign to overturn a 2008 Tennessee Supreme Court ruling which prevents them from passing certain pro-life laws.
  • 12 News Now covers the inspection of a Beaumont, Texas, abortion clinic and its 13 violations:
The October 3 inspection at Whole Woman’s Health of Beaumont turned up potential health issues.

The report says the facility failed to provide a safe environment for patients and staff. The suction machines which were used on patients had numerous rusty spots which, “had the likelihood to cause infection.”The report also says, “the facility failed to have the EKG monitoring equipment ready if an emergency situation occurred….”

Former abortion clinic escort arrested for “bumping” pro-lifer with car

A former escort at a South Carolina abortion clinic decided to start the year off with a bang. Literally.

Larry Carter Center (mug shot right) is a former Green Party candidate for the S.C. House of Representatives and well-known socialist activist. He has also worked as a volunteer escort for the Charleston Women’s Medical Center abortion business.

On January 12, as Carter was driving his teal sedan out of the parking lot of the abortion business, he “bumped” 81-yr-old pro-lifer William Gasque in the knee with his front bumper.

  • Live Action looks at Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards’ post-election interview with the Huffington Post. She suggests that the Republican party return to former President Richard Nixon’s family planning program initiatives.

Interestingly, audio tapes have now made public the knowledge that Nixon was a racist and saw family planning as a way to control the African-American population. Others have reported that Nixon was pro-choice in his thinking, and he shared the same eugenic agenda at the root of Planned Parenthood and Margaret Sanger.

The media’s strangely subdued reporting on Family Research Council shooter

I was camping yesterday morning when a friend alerted me via Twitter on my iPhone there had been a shooting at Family Research Council headquarters in Washington, D.C.

Frightened for my friends, I began scanning Google for news reports. Ten minutes later the first story popped up, stating an FRC security guard had been shot in the arm, and the shooter had been arrested.

A bit relieved, I went ahead with a planned day trip, tuning in to news radio in the truck to keep up with the latest. Nada.

Abortion proponents injure pro-life vet and elderly man in two separate attacks

In recent days we have reported on the assault of a pro-life protester (caught on video and followed by arrest) and the vandalization of a pro-life leader’s home.

Here are two more attacks by abortion supporters against pro-lifers to report.

The first occurred June 30 and is in follow-up to my story that pro-life activists planned to distribute flyers outing country singer JoDell Nauert as the owner of three abortion clinics at an Independence Day gig.

This was ironically a charity event for a group supporting handicapped children and adults.

Pro-abortion extremist faces 4 years in prison for threats; found with cyanide

UPDATE 9:50a: Douglas Johnson, Legislative Director of National Right to Life, adds this thought:

Theodore Shulman entered a guilty plea in a federal court in Manhattan yesterday. But the only press coverage seen, so far, is a short story in the New York Daily News, and an even shorter Associated Press piece.

Neither the Daily News nor the AP mentioned that Shulman is the son of famed feminist author and activist Alix Kates Shulman, whose works include Memoirs of an Ex-Prom Queen. I think that if a pro-life activist had entered a guilty plea to making death threats against prominent pro-abortion leaders, that story would be covered much more widely – and if the offender also were the son of a famous pro-life author and activist, that association would be highlighted. Maybe the “mainstream media” should also enter a guilty plea – guilty to bias by grossly selective perception regarding what constitutes “news.”

I should also highlight the fact that Alix has spoken of aborting four of Shulman’s siblings, “and not one was the result of carelessness.” Theodore has commented on those abortions, saying two came before him and two after. Shulman has one living sister, Polly. One doesn’t have to be a psychiatrist to figure out why Shulman is messed up. He needs our prayers.
