Abortion clinic buffer zones crumble around the country

Two weeks after the Supreme Court ruled that Massachusetts’ protective buffer zone around abortion clinics violates the free speech rights of protesters, four other buffer zones around the country have already disappeared or been challenged in court. The City Council of Portland, Maine, repealed its 39-foot buffer zone around a women’s health clinic this week, […]

  • At ProLife365, Kevin Kukla shows how the redefinition of “pregnancy” and “conception” have changed over the years, by a deliberate choice on the part of contraception proponents. Kukla writes, “Did you know that the moment your life began depends on which decade you were born in?”

Democrat senator vows to force contraception coverage

by Carder Since the Supreme Court decided it will not protect women’s health, I will. ~ Senator Patty Murray (D-Washington) announcing her intention to push for a bill that would require for-profit corporations to subsidize contraception for their employees, New York Times, July 8 [HT: Hot Air]

  • Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life says Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton appears to value dogs and cats more than the women of his state who procure abortions:

A measure to license and inspect commercial dog and cat breeders — passed by the Legislature and signed into law by Gov. Mark Dayton earlier this year — went into effect on July 1. The new regulations throw into sharp relief Dayton’s refusal to accept any state licensing or inspection of abortion facilities, which perform thousands of surgical procedures on Minnesota women each year.

Planned Parenthood tweets pic Lady Liberty holding birth control pills

by Kelli The organization’s message came after the recent uproar over the Supreme Court’s decision that for-profit company owners with religious objections to providing coverage for abortion-inducing drugs could be excluded from the Obamacare Contraceptive Mandate. Taking to Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr, Planned Parenthood sent an additional “Happy 4th of July” message as a reminder […]

New Stanek poll question: Which one of these would you save?

I have a new poll question up. It’s one of those abstract questions I’ve been asked, but it does test theory against reality:

If in one hand I was holding an embryo in a petri dish, and in the other a newborn, and could only save one, I would…

Vote in the poll on the right lower side of the home page.

The previous poll question was in response to threats (idle, as it turns out, unsurprisingly) by abortion zealots in the wake of the Supreme Court’s 9-0 decision to overturn Massachusetts’ buffer zone law.

And pro-lifers by-and-large said, “Bring it on”…

Pro-life photos of the week: Green-eyed monster of choice; police protecting abortion

Last week I noted the youthful pro-life glow so evident at the Supreme Court  when we were celebrating the Hobby Lobby decision that a photo of one of the our groups ended up in Cosmopolitan.

Pro-life movement doesn’t kill its young

Dave Weigel at Slate also noted the phenomenon - with a twinge of jealousy perhaps? “The abortion rights protesters ran the square, with their most camera-friendly interns and staffers lofting signs….”

So here’s another – of many – exuberant victory shots, this one via Reuters. (click all photos to enlarge)…

Pro-life activists celebrate Hobby Lobby decision, inhibiting abortion

Police protect abortion

On the flip side, Reuters posted another photo steeped in irony – police protecting Planned Parenthood, the United States’ largest abortion provider, in the wake of the Supreme Court’s buffer zone decision. This ruling freed pro-life advocates to once again approach mothers planning to kill their babies with a message of hope and help.

I expect this photo will end up in the Abortion Holocaust Museum some day…

Stanek Sunday funnies, “Hobby Lobby” edition

What a week, eh? Don’t forget when you worship today to thank God for His mercy in protecting the religious freedom of American business owners through the Supreme Court’s June 30 Hobby Lobby/Conestoga Wood decision, which also affirmed Life.

Here were my top five seven favorite political cartoons on that topic. Be sure to vote for your fav in the poll at the bottom of this post!
