PPGC clinic closures had nothing to do with those Medicaid fraud charges, sure

Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast took the occasion of Texas Governor Rick Perry’s signingof a new omnibus pro-life law today to announce it was closing three of its 12 clinics. The reason, perHuffington Post:

  • Texas’ Women’s Health Program doesn’t need to fund abortion providers and their affiliates now that the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals has denied an appeal to reconsider their early decision. Planned Parenthood’s lawyers apparently can’t understand that no one is taking away their free speech rights if a state chooses not to fund abortion providers:

In a statement issued Thursday, Gov. Rick Perry said Texas will immediately “defund” the health organization’s affiliates. “Today’s ruling affirms yet again that in Texas the Women’s Health Program has no obligation to fund Planned Parenthood and other organizations that perform or promote abortion. In Texas we choose life, and we will immediately begin defunding all abortion affiliates to honor and uphold that choice.”

Strange sting by Planned Parenthood ally makes case for Texas defund

Another title for my post might be, “Andrea Grimes is no Lila Rose.”

Pro-abortion RH Reality Check reporter Andrea was horrified that her investigation of the Texas Women’s Health Program turned up “only” 13 – 13! – healthcare providers in the vicinity of Downtown Austin Planned Parenthood that will give pap smears to low income women.

Andrea was trying to make the case that the State of Texas’s court-upheld decision to exclude Planned Parenthood from its state Medicaid program will leave low income women in the lurch.

Andrea thinks having 13 healthcare providers available to fill the shoes of one Planned Parenthood is somehow deplorable.

Whose side is Andrea on again?

The 5th Circuit Court of Appeals lifted a temporary injunction which temporarily prevented Texas from eliminating Planned Parenthood from the Texas Women’s Health Program. From this AP article, the average reader would leave […]

  • The Texas Tribune is reporting on another Planned Parenthood affiliate merge. North Texas, Austin and Waco Planned Parenthoods are merging to become Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas:

Publicly, Planned Parenthood leaders say the merger, which has been under discussion since 2009, is about creating a leaner, more efficient organization, especially in the face of reductions in state and federal financing. Less brazenly, they suggest that joining forces is the best way to defend their branches from an onslaught of anti-abortion legislation and to connect the fundraising powerhouses concentrated in North Texas with endangered clinics throughout the 58,000-square-mile region and beyond.

“For us, it’s a strategic merger, an opportunity to pull together three very strong operations into one,” said Cecile Richards, president of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America, and the Waco-born daughter of the late Gov. Ann Richards. “It will help on the advocacy side and, more important, on the health care delivery side.”

Massive, systemic Planned Parenthood fraud on brink of exposure?

by JivinJ, host of the blog, JivinJehoshaphat The amended Virginia ultrasound bill has been signed by Gov. Bob McDonnell. Unsurprisingly, the AParticle about the law has this mischaracterization:The measure initially had sought to mandate a vaginally invasive form of an ultrasound, triggering a national uproar that resounded across political talk shows and TV comedy shows…. by JivinJ, host of the blog, JivinJehoshaphat The Wall Street Journal on the tabling of the Blunt Amendment: Nancy Pelosi called it “devastating legislation” and “the latest ploy in the Republican agenda of disrespecting the health of American women.” Planned Parenthood claimed the “dangerous proposal” would have allowed “your boss” yes, yours to […]
