New language in 20-week abortion ban virtually ensures an end to late-term abortions

admin-ajaxYesterday, the U.S. House passed the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act by a vote of 242-184-1.

In the gallery for the debates and vote, I was as horrified by pro-abortion opposition as I was elated by pro-life support.

Most egregious was Democrat Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, who evoked faith, God, and even the song “Glory” from the movie Selma to defend the right to dismember 5-mo-old children (beginning at 33:32).

Pro-choice leaders misrepresent abortion limits

False
I don’t know if they’re ignorant or lying, but pro-abort leaders who should know better are spreading flatly false information about how long in a pregnancy a mother can abort….

NPR ignores woman killed by clinic it showcases in abortion promo piece

2015-03-06_1130This is truly shocking, either a new low in yellow journalism or an incredible display of shoddy research.

The slant of the March 3 NPR article by Jennifer Ludden was in its title: “Abortion restrictions complicate access for Ohio women.”

Ludden worried “a steady stream of abortion restrictions over the past four years has helped close nearly half the state’s clinics that perform the procedure,” then went on to blame the state, not substandard clinics or abortionists.

Ironically, Ludden chose Preterm abortion clinic to showcase the hardships abortion clinics and aborting mothers must endure:

Feminist reporter: Abortion is gruesome, but hey, so is childbirth

by Kelli The murder conviction of quack abortion doctor Kermit Gosnell for scissoring viable fetuses to death propelled a new effort to demonize abortion generally. Even moderates like the Times’ [sic] Ross Douthat used the event to remind people how violent and gruesome late-term abortions are when performed by competent doctors, failing to note that […]

  • Culture Campaign notes another Planned Parenthood closing – this time in New Jersey. With no fanfare or explanation, the facility in Manville closed. The clinic had come under fire in the past through Live Action stings.

  • Secular Pro-Life has two excellent posts. In the first, their press release rejects the stereotype of pro-lifers advanced by Comedy Central’s The Daily Show guest host, John Oliver, [who] “implied that abortion restrictions are motivated solely by religion and not by secular concern for the human right to life.” The second post, discusses the censoring of three pro-life female physicians who “were scheduled to give presentations at a Medical Women’s International Association (MWIA) meeting in Seoul” but were told after they arrived that their presentations had been cancelled because they “had prepared presentations on risks of abortion.”

  • America isn’t the only place with shady abortionists. An abortionist in China has been accused of taking a nude photo of a patient and blackmailing her with it.:

… [T]he patient claims that the doctor took pictures of her while she was changing clothes and tried to use the photo as blackmail so that they would pay.

The hospital later returned the extra money the couple had been charged and issued an apology after police were called to investigate the situation.

Gosnell trial shows pro-choicers are “running away from reason”

trustwomen[Planned Parenthood] and the pro-choice movement in general now have the following struggle on their hands: can they offer the impartial observer — who now has read the transcript of the Gosnell trial — a reasoned argument claiming that abortion is not murder?

… Gosnell killed live babies, but what he did to them inside the womb was indistinguishable to what he did to them outside the womb. New challenges to the pro-choice movement will involve this fact, one which leads inevitably, and immediately, to issues of reason….
