  • Americans United for Life urges pastors in Illinois to address a new bill from the pulpit:

Illinois SB 1564, a bill that would dramatically reduce the state’s conscience protections for health care providers and pro-life pregnancy centers, continues to advance.Yesterday, the House Committee on Human Services voted along party lines to advance this dangerous bill to the House floor. If the bill passes the House, it will go to Governor Rauner for consideration.

  • Culture Campaign comments on self-professed Satanist name “Mary” who claims the Missouri waiting period is preventing her from exercising her religious belief “that her body is subject to her will alone.” (I wonder how they square this with other laws in society which restrict individual rights.) Of course, Mary and the Satanists have the full support of abortion advocates. A fund has been established so “Mary” can have an abortion ASAP at the only remaining abortion clinic in MO, Planned Parenthood of St. Louis – which is not exactly known for it’s great track record on safety.

Abortion supporters clash on whether late term abortions are tragic or trivial

151

It was pro-abortion President Bill Clinton who first coined the term “safe, legal, and rare” in the early 1990s to describe his supposedly moderate view on abortion.

The phrase served Clinton well during the years-long partial birth abortion debate, making him sound reasonable even as he vetoed a ban against the heinous procedure twice. The conflicted masses liked it as well.

But abortion zealots got stuck on that word “rare.” As proponent Jessica Valenti wrote in The Guardian last year:

Pro-choicer: Telling women of abortion risks is “mansplaining”

by Kelli If House Bill 124 passes, women in Missouri must watch a documentary created by the state health department with information about abortion 72 hours before they can access the procedure. The new proposal, sponsored by Desloge Republican representative Linda Black, would add a third method of mansplaining abortion methods and risks to patients. […]

Abortion extremists storm Tennessee capitol… because it worked so well for them in Texas?

Yesterday was the first day of session for the new Tennessee legislature.

It was particularly notable for those involved in the abortion issue because it symbolized a new day for the Tennessee pro-life movement in the wake of Amendment 1’s passage last November.

South by Southwest: Pro-life laws eradicating abortion clinics

There is a mesmerizing time-lapse video at the Abraham Lincoln Museum in Springfield, Illinois, that in four minutes shows the North’s four-year takeover of the South during the Civil War (screen shots above – view a video clip here).

I was reminded of that video when viewing this GIF from Planned Parenthood. Click on the image to launch…

Stanek wkend Q: Is 2014 the year “war on women” comes back to bite Dems?

267-Le08p.AuSt.91On January 22 the Republican National Committee issued a strongly worded resolution telling pro-life candidates it would support those “who fight back against Democratic deceptive ‘war on women’ rhetoric by pointing out the extreme positions on abortion held by Democratic opponents” and back away from those “who stay silent in the face of such deceptive rhetoric.”

So game on. The RNC has learned, quoting the resolution again, that “[c]andidates who stay silent on pro-life issues do not identify with key voters, fail to alert voters to the Democrats’ extreme pro-abortion stances, and have lost their elections.”

Like we said.

This past Wednesday the March for Life in Washington, D.C., saw RNC Chairman Reince Priebus speak from the rally podium as well as House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (pictured above right) – physically backing up the resolution.

  • Jivin Jehoshaphat says abortion advocates can’t have it both ways when it comes to a new ultrasound study that purports to show how few women change their minds about abortion after viewing a sonogram. So, is viewing a sonogram inconsequential, or is it still an “undue emotional burden”?

If they’re not going to change their mind then why is it a undue emotional burden? It’s not a physical burden because they already receive the ultrasound because as the first line (!) of the study’s abstract notes ultrasounds [are] a “routine part of preprocedure abortion care.”
