Pro-lifer Leslie Hanks spent several days praying and protesting outside the facility where Terri Schindler Schiavo was starved and dehydrated to death in 2005. Yesterday marked the 3rd anniversary of Terri’s death. Leslie has submitted visual reminders of that time. Here is the 1st. See 7 more on page 2.

Sorry, but I think that protesting the occupation of Iraq would be a far better use of all these folks’ time. To date, 4000 U.S. dead and 30,000 U.S. wounded, not to mention as many as 1,000,000 Iraqi deaths, all of adults and children outside the womb, and not in comas with irreparable brain damage.

Terry never chose to die by dehydration nor by any other means…her “loving” husband chose for her to die…

To his credit, his children died quicker, more merciful deaths via dismemberment than Terri’s 2-week hell being slowly starved and dehydrated to death.

Notice how the death-loving crowd who support killing babies and disabled people always try to change the subject. Perhaps they realize that they can’t begin to defend the evil they support.

I have never wept more for a stranger than I did for Terri and her family….and still can as soon as I start reading or listening to something about that horrible incident 3 years ago. It was then I KNEW that our country was in serious danger.
The lack of compassion from certain individuals on this board, as well as those we read in letters to the editor every once in a while, about Terri is astounding. It is then that I understand how the atrocities in Germany happened…either people wouldn’t believe it or didn’t care or even go so far as to say it was the “right” thing to do.
I cried for much of the day yesterday and spent much time in prayer. I had such a heaviness of heart just like I did 3 years ago. I couldn’t stomach most of the comments on the other thread about Terri.

I’m doing an informative speech for my speech class on the Holocaust and why it happened…a lot of the research I have done has been REALLY creepy because of situations like Terri’s.
We keep moving closer and closer to the edge.

John, I don’t think that TR is offended by the Christian belief that atheists (and all other non-Christians) are going to hell. What was offensive, IMO, about Jacqueline’s post was her apparent glee at the thought. See the difference?

Oh my goodness! Jacqueline! Are you God? Wow, this is so incredible! I have so much to ask you! Ok, here’s one: that whole “judge not lest ye be judged” thing that Jesus said… was he kidding or something because a whole lot of so-called “Christians” seem to ignore it. Since Christians follow the word of Christ, I really can’t think of any other explanation for it… other than that these people aren’t very good Christians. So… care to explain?

Does it seem to me from this post that she takes pleasure in the thought of Hal going to hell? Why yes, yes it does seem that way.
Frankly, John, based only on Jacqueline’s posting history, I imagine that she’d take great glee in driving him there herself. Granted, I haven’t read every thread on this blog, but I’ve never seen her shy away from imagining that her judgment of other people is absolutely righteous at all times.

The sad fact about the Bible is how terribly terribly often it has been used as a vehicle of hate against others. Actually…I think that the scholarly consensus about the book of Matthew is that it was written sometime between 70 – 100 CE.

I really don’t understand how people having differing opinions than your own is judging.
Just because you don’t like what someone has to say doesn’t mean they are being judgemental.

Making a decision as to whether or not one’s actions, speech, and/or attitudes, etc. are good or evil based on a certain standard is not judging.
Judging is making a decision as to one’s eternal destiny, something none of us can know in this life. Besides, if we thought that someone was going to hell we would probably stop trying to reach that person.
Having said that, we can state that if a person continued in a certain lifestyle, i.e., unbelief, that they would proabably end up in hell.
For example, we should all be praying for Charles Manson. Why, because as long as he is alive we have a hope that he might repent and believe and be saved. However, I don’t think anyone would disagree that if he did not change he would probably go to hell.
Again, there is a verse in the Bible that says that if we see a person committing a sin unto death, we are not even to pray for that person. Now this is a hard verse for me to understand.

I would not be quoting Mahatma Ghandi since if he did not accept Christ he is not where I would want to end up. In fact, no one is righteous in God’s eyes except the Lamb of God, Jesus Christ. Ghandi needed Christ as much as you or me. In fact, seeing hypocrisy in others as M. Ghandi saw, is evidence of that he was full of hypocrisy himself.
Perhaps it would be better to say that certain actions are not Christlike.
Now, if we are to be Christlike, we must do the things Christ did which included loving, rebuking, teaching, admonishing and correcting. Seems to me you only want to hear the love part and not the other stuff.
Well until you are willing to be corrected by the Word of God which includes abandoning certain attitudes, beliefs and actions (called repentance) you cannot even begin to truly love as Christ loved or agaped.
Christ’s definition of love is not the gooey, mushy, feely kind of love that modernists are familiar with. Agape love is the love that gives self away in the best interests of another. Obviously agape love and being pro-choice are mutually exclusive since there is no love and surrender of self when a baby is viciously murdered.
