Photo journal of Terri’s death
Pro-lifer Leslie Hanks spent several days praying and protesting outside the facility where Terri Schindler Schiavo was starved and dehydrated to death in 2005. Yesterday marked the 3rd anniversary of Terri’s death. Leslie has submitted visual reminders of that time. Here is the 1st. See 7 more on page 2.

Protesters from the disabled group Not Dead Yet…
Sorry, but I think that protesting the occupation of Iraq would be a far better use of all these folks’ time. To date, 4000 U.S. dead and 30,000 U.S. wounded, not to mention as many as 1,000,000 Iraqi deaths, all of adults and children outside the womb, and not in comas with irreparable brain damage.
wow, what a classy bunch.
the Schiavo case is illustrative of the lack of compassion for our most vulnerable in society.
the iraq war depicts the failure of the government to access the threat and gather valuable intelligence.
while each are tragic losses they are not comparable.
” wow, what a classy bunch. ”
such cultivated and enlightened commentary. i will contemplate such an observation the rest of the day.
Ok, Roger, you can add “They are loathsome people” to my commentary.
would you like a drink of water.
Ummm… the US folks serving in IRAQ knew the risks they were taking when they CHOSE to join up and serve….
Terry never chose to die by dehydration nor by any other means…her “loving” husband chose for her to die…
Hal is equal opportunity on who he will kill- his two defenseless children- defenseless disabled people.
To his credit, his children died quicker, more merciful deaths via dismemberment than Terri’s 2-week hell being slowly starved and dehydrated to death.
Hal- Hell’s a waiting.
Notice how the death-loving crowd who support killing babies and disabled people always try to change the subject. Perhaps they realize that they can’t begin to defend the evil they support.

Happy National Athiests’ Day!
wow, what a classy bunch.
mocking the disabled Hal?
That’s pretty sick…even for you.
I have never wept more for a stranger than I did for Terri and her family….and still can as soon as I start reading or listening to something about that horrible incident 3 years ago. It was then I KNEW that our country was in serious danger.
The lack of compassion from certain individuals on this board, as well as those we read in letters to the editor every once in a while, about Terri is astounding. It is then that I understand how the atrocities in Germany happened…either people wouldn’t believe it or didn’t care or even go so far as to say it was the “right” thing to do.
I cried for much of the day yesterday and spent much time in prayer. I had such a heaviness of heart just like I did 3 years ago. I couldn’t stomach most of the comments on the other thread about Terri.
I hear you loud and clear, Ellie.
Ellie,
I’m doing an informative speech for my speech class on the Holocaust and why it happened…a lot of the research I have done has been REALLY creepy because of situations like Terri’s.
We keep moving closer and closer to the edge.
Atheists’ Day – sorry for the typo!

That is really disgusting.
In my opinion, hell would be an eternity spent around people like you.
Ray said: “Sorry, but I think that protesting the occupation of Iraq would be a far better use of all these folks’ time.”
I agree; I’m very much against al Qaeda’s occupation of Iraq and I hope that they are defeated by our military men and women as soon as possible.

So… why do you post here?
Also, why are atheists so offended when you suggest that they might be going to Hell for their beliefs and actions? Does that make sense?
In my opinion, hell would be an eternity spent around people like you.
And yet, here you are!
Self-fulfilling prophecy anyone?
Ah yes, opinions and various ways of expressing oneself only matter if delivered by the beautiful people.
Elizabeth, you beat me to it! ha!
Also, why are atheists so offended when you suggest that they might be going to Hell for their beliefs and actions? Does that make sense?

John, I don’t think that TR is offended by the Christian belief that atheists (and all other non-Christians) are going to hell. What was offensive, IMO, about Jacqueline’s post was her apparent glee at the thought. See the difference?
Hieronymous, you think that Jacqueline takes pleasure in the reality that Hal is probably going to end up in Hell? I assure you, all of us would be much happier if that were not the case.
Hal- Hell’s a waiting.
Oh my goodness! Jacqueline! Are you God? Wow, this is so incredible! I have so much to ask you! Ok, here’s one: that whole “judge not lest ye be judged” thing that Jesus said… was he kidding or something because a whole lot of so-called “Christians” seem to ignore it. Since Christians follow the word of Christ, I really can’t think of any other explanation for it… other than that these people aren’t very good Christians. So… care to explain?
Educate yourself. Try reading the Bible if you’re so godly.

Go back and read her post John. Oh heck, here, I’ll copy and paste it for you:
Hal is equal opportunity on who he will kill- his two defenseless children- defenseless disabled people.
To his credit, his children died quicker, more merciful deaths via dismemberment than Terri’s 2-week hell being slowly starved and dehydrated to death.
Hal- Hell’s a waiting.
Does it seem to me from this post that she takes pleasure in the thought of Hal going to hell? Why yes, yes it does seem that way.
Frankly, John, based only on Jacqueline’s posting history, I imagine that she’d take great glee in driving him there herself. Granted, I haven’t read every thread on this blog, but I’ve never seen her shy away from imagining that her judgment of other people is absolutely righteous at all times.
I highly doubt that, Hieronymous. I’m pretty sure that I dislike you pro-aborts far more than Jacqueline does. I’m pretty sure Jacqueline never had to stop commenting on here for a month because she was so enraged at the attitudes of you pro-aborts that she was incapable of doing anything but posting how much she disliked you all to the point of boiling red anger.
And as much as I dislike you pro-aborts, I would rejoice if you were to turn from your evil ways and seek salvation.
Also, why are atheists so offended when you suggest that they might be going to Hell for their beliefs and actions? Does that make sense?
LOL.
1. Since I don’t believe hell exists, I don’t care where you think I’m going.
2. Your tone, word choice and manner are offensive, but that’s because you’re being intentionally self-righteous and judgmental.
Do not judge, so that you may not be judged. For with the judgment you make you will be judged, and the measure you give will be the measure you get. Why do you see the speck in your neighbor’s eye, but do not notice the log in your own eye? Or how can you say to your neighbor, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ while the log is in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your neighbor’s eye.
(NRSV, Matthew 7:1-5)
I highly doubt that, Hieronymous. I’m pretty sure that I dislike you pro-aborts far more than Jacqueline does. I’m pretty sure Jacqueline never had to stop commenting on here for a month because she was so enraged at the attitudes of you pro-aborts that she was incapable of doing anything but posting how much she disliked you all to the point of boiling red anger.

Uhhh, ok John. Your feelings are….interesting. Like I’ve said before, it must be such a fascinating world that you live in.
And whether Jacqueline “likes” or “dislikes” the pro-choicers who post here on an individual or collective basis is hardly relevant to what I was saying.
Hieronymous, so Jacqueline’s like or dislike of pro-aborts has nothing to do with how she talks to or about them? Um. What?
Edyt,
John said to him, “Teacher, we saw someone driving out demons in your name, and we tried to prevent him because he does not follow us.”
Jesus replied, “Do not prevent him. There is no one who performs a mighty deed in my name who can at the same time speak ill of me. For whoever is not against us is for us.
Anyone who gives you a cup of water to drink because you belong to Christ, amen, I say to you, will surely not lose his reward. Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him if a great millstone were put around his neck and he were thrown into the sea. If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life maimed than with two hands to go into Gehenna, into the unquenchable fire. And if your foot causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life crippled than with two feet to be thrown into Gehenna. And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out. Better for you to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye than with two eyes to be thrown into Gehenna, where ‘their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched.’
-Mark 9:38-48, NAB
Elizabeth: “I’m doing an informative speech for my speech class on the Holocaust and why it happened…”
Elizabeth, I’d be very interested in reading your speech. Will it be on-line anywhere? If so, please let us know, if you are willing.
By the way… Matthew 7:1-5, intentionally misinterpreted and abused by unrepentent sinners to justify sin since AD 33! Woo!
could have been “vodka for all but Terri..”
Does James do it for you then, John?
Do not speak evil against one another, brothers. The one who speaks against a brother or judges his brother, speaks evil against the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge. There is only one lawgiver and judge, he who is able to save and to destroy. But who are you to judge your neighbor?
James 4:11-12
The sad fact about the Bible is how terribly terribly often it has been used as a vehicle of hate against others. The few verses about love and not passing judgment are far outweighed by the messages of harming, killing, and hating those who do not agree with your views. Thank you for bringing this up to all of us, John.
Hieronymous, so Jacqueline’s like or dislike of pro-aborts has nothing to do with how she talks to or about them? Um. What?
Yes. Or rather, it has very little to do with what I was talking about, which is her apparent zeal for judging.
By the way… Matthew 7:1-5, intentionally misinterpreted and abused by unrepentent sinners to justify sin since AD 33! Woo!
Actually…I think that the scholarly consensus about the book of Matthew is that it was written sometime between 70 – 100 CE.
Ellie,
Our speeches are supposed to be delivered “extemporaneously” but since it’s a research-based speech, I figure to remember all the dates and facts, I will write it down and memorize it before I have to give it. I figure I can ad-lib better if I memorize it beforehand. So when I write it down word-for-word, I can post it on here if you want.
By the way… Matthew 7:1-5, intentionally misinterpreted and abused by unrepentent sinners to justify sin since AD 33! Woo!
Matthew 7:1-5, twisted pervertedly so that people who call themselves “Christians” can go on judging as they please!
“Christianity is a beautiful thing. It is a shame that no one has tried it.” –Mahatma Ghandi
Try reading the words of CHRIST for what they are. Jesus preached love! TRY IT, for once in your lives and THEN you can call yourselves Christians!
I really don’t understand how people having differing opinions than your own is judging.
Just because you don’t like what someone has to say doesn’t mean they are being judgemental.
I think we can all agree that being honest with someone, even when being totally blunt and/or tactless about it, is an act of love. If that person didn’t care about you, they would have no problem lying to you.
I think we can all agree that being honest with someone, even when being totally blunt and/or tactless about it, is an act of love.If that person didn’t care about you, they would have no problem lying to you.
I think we can be loving without being tactless and blunt, too. It just takes a little extra effort.
Janet, I know..but sometimes..people don’t get it without being blunt…and some people just suck at being tactful. lol.
But I believe in being honest while having compassion work the best.
Hal:
I’ll try to come to your defense here:
I think you were referring to OJ, Mr. Schiavo and Mr. Petersen, and not the protesters, correct?
Please tell me I’m right Hal. I can’t believe even you find people that would try to keep a defenseless young lady alive, loathsome.
Making a decision as to whether or not one’s actions, speech, and/or attitudes, etc. are good or evil based on a certain standard is not judging.
Judging is making a decision as to one’s eternal destiny, something none of us can know in this life. Besides, if we thought that someone was going to hell we would probably stop trying to reach that person.
Having said that, we can state that if a person continued in a certain lifestyle, i.e., unbelief, that they would proabably end up in hell.
For example, we should all be praying for Charles Manson. Why, because as long as he is alive we have a hope that he might repent and believe and be saved. However, I don’t think anyone would disagree that if he did not change he would probably go to hell.
Again, there is a verse in the Bible that says that if we see a person committing a sin unto death, we are not even to pray for that person. Now this is a hard verse for me to understand.
Leah:
Your words judge that we’re not Christians, therfore, you imply we are not going to heaven.
I would not be quoting Mahatma Ghandi since if he did not accept Christ he is not where I would want to end up. In fact, no one is righteous in God’s eyes except the Lamb of God, Jesus Christ. Ghandi needed Christ as much as you or me. In fact, seeing hypocrisy in others as M. Ghandi saw, is evidence of that he was full of hypocrisy himself.
Perhaps it would be better to say that certain actions are not Christlike.
Now, if we are to be Christlike, we must do the things Christ did which included loving, rebuking, teaching, admonishing and correcting. Seems to me you only want to hear the love part and not the other stuff.
Well until you are willing to be corrected by the Word of God which includes abandoning certain attitudes, beliefs and actions (called repentance) you cannot even begin to truly love as Christ loved or agaped.
Christ’s definition of love is not the gooey, mushy, feely kind of love that modernists are familiar with. Agape love is the love that gives self away in the best interests of another. Obviously agape love and being pro-choice are mutually exclusive since there is no love and surrender of self when a baby is viciously murdered.
If anyone sees his brother sinning, if the sin is not deadly, he should pray to God and he will give him life. This is only for those whose sin is not deadly. There is such a thing as deadly sin, about which I do not say that you should pray. 1John 5:16
HisMan,
When Jesus returns on Judgement Day he ones who have commited deadly sins will be chosen for damnation. I do not say you should pray for them because to do so would be rebelling against the will of God.
Jesus replied, “Do not prevent him. There is no one who performs a mighty deed in my name who can at the same time speak ill of me. For whoever is not against us is for us.

Mortal sin?
Where were these quotes on the neverending thread????? lol
mk:
I love the gospel of John!
Again, there is a verse in the Bible that says that if we see a person committing a sin unto death, we are not even to pray for that person. Now this is a hard verse for me to understand.
Hisman, given your beliefs and what I’ve seen you post, I appreciate that.
Doug
who is that third man in 3 of a kind?
Tori – I think maybe it’s Scott Peterson?
Yeah, it’s Scott, but it’s also reminiscent of Danny Bonaduce.
I would not be quoting Mahatma Ghandi since if he did not accept Christ he is not where I would want to end up.
Yes he did, HisMan. He accepted Christ and loved his teachings. He did not accept Christians because the majority of them twist and pervert the beautiful words of Jesus Christ to fit their own personal agenda. Ghandi was more Christian than most Christians I know!
Attention abusers of Matthew 7:1-5:
If my neighbor is committing mortal sin, and I don’t point it out to him, is that a good thing? After all, according to you guys, if I DO point it out, I’m “judging”. But if I DON’T point it out, I’m allowing my neighbor to condemn himself to Hell. Tell me, what’s more charitable?
You should all be praising Jacqueline for pointing out one of the most basic facts of Christianity, and that is, if you’re an unrepentant mortal sinner, you’re in serious danger of going to Hell.
You’re right, the message of Jesus is Love. What’s more loving; correcting and instructing someone who is doing something wrong, or saying nothing and allowing them to destroy themselves?
Question, Leah… which one of the following people is more “Christian”?
Person 1: An abortionist who regularly kills unborn children, but who never says anything bad about anyone.
Person 2: A pro-life activist who readily condemns abortion, and warns Christians that abortion is a mortal sin which could result in eternal damnation.
Based on your previous posts in this thread, your answer should be that Person 1 is the better Christian. What say you?
Ray, a clue. Those who serve, choose to… there’s no draft. Now if it were your daughter being starved to death and you could do nothing…
Ray, nice wimp way to change the subject btw.
Were you concerned when Iraqis were gassed, raped, shot under Saddam and his sons?
There are many disabled in Iraq here getting surgeries and that have had their lives changed in unheard of ways… men, women and children.
Be a man and stop getting brainwashed, this woman spoke words and her hubby wanted the dough, simple.
And how can you deign to speak for the disabled and where their time would have been better spent? Just as you feign knowledge and are ignorant not only of Terri but Iraq.
You know where you can go.
“Please tell me I’m right Hal. I can’t believe even you find people that would try to keep a defenseless young lady alive, loathsome.”
Yes, I do think those protesters are loathsome people. And those that wanted the US Congress to get involved. And those that compared, Mr. Schaivo to OJ and Scott Peterson. And you, of course.
As far as Hell goes, I have no more fear of Hell than I have of tripping over lepricons.
Hiya friends!
Do you know how may I get cheap iPod?
I will be very much blessed.
Take care
