WASHINGTON (AP) – ‘An internal review prepared for Barack Obama found his incoming chief of staff had multiple conversations with the Illinois governor’s office, but said the talks did not involve any deal concerning whom the governor would appoint to replace Obama in the Senate.’
‘Incoming White House attorney Greg Craig, who conducted the internal review at Obama’s request, found that the president-elect had no contact with Blagojevich or any of his staff about the Senate seat Obama vacated to take over the presidency.’
The president in waiting 0’bama (pbuh) selects Greg Craig, whom he has nominated for White House Attorney, to perform an completely independent and transparent investigation of the 0’bama (pbuh). No conflict of interest there.
Just a problem with the ‘appearance of fairness’.
The weasel in charge of the hen coop appoints his employee to investigate the weasel’s conduct concerning chicago chickens coming home to roost in said hen coop.
No fertile eggs, were uncovered in this investigation.
The hens reproductive rights were upheld at all times.

Obama is very deceptive. He replayed the transcripts they offered on Blagojevich and prepared carefully crafted answers. To bad he is missing many hours of transcripts. If the media wants, they can take a chart and see where Axelrod answers and Rahmbo’s and obamas do not match what he offered here.
Obama thinks his statements get him off the hook. They will finish putting blago on the hook and take him next. Obama won’t get dealt with for a while.

‘Emanuel was the only Obama transition team member who discussed the Senate appointment with Blagojevich, and those conversations were “totally appropriate and acceptable,” [Greg]Craig [0’bama nominee for White House Counsel] said Tuesday. No one on Obama’s transition team discussed any deals or had any knowledge of deals, Craig’s report said.
Sources have said Emanuel is not a target in the case.
Craig’s report identified close Obama friend Eric Whitaker as someone approached by one of Blagojevich’s top aides to learn “who, if anyone, had the authority to speak for the president-elect” about the Senate appointment.
The report states that Obama told Whitaker that “no one was authorized to speak for him” and that “he had no interest in dictating the result of the selection process.”
Emanuel had one or two conversations with Blagojevich and four with Harris on the subject of the Senate seat, according to the review. The report said Obama authorized Emanuel to pass on the names of four people he considered to be highly qualified to take over his seat – Illinois Comptroller Dan Hynes, Illinois Veterans’ Affairs Director Tammy Duckworth, Rep. Jan Schakowsky and Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr.
“In later telephone conversations, Mr. Emanuel – also with the president-elect’s approval – presented other names of qualified candidates to Mr. Harris including Attorney General Lisa Madigan and Ms. Cheryle Jackson,” the report said.
Emanuel left for a long-planned family vacation in Africa on Tuesday and was not available for comment.’

Dr. Eric Whitaker and Sen. Barack Obama go way back.
Their friendship began when they were graduate students at Harvard University. Now, Whitaker is one of Obama’s closest advisers.
[What was the famous quote by the late William F. Buckley? “I would rather vote for the first 350 people in the phone book for Congress than Harvard graduates.” Guess that would go for presidents as well.]
Whitaker, 43, of Chicago, often travels with the presidential hopeful on the campaign trail and has vacationed with him in Hawaii. There’s talk Whitaker could be in line for a federal appointment if Obama becomes president.
Five years ago, Obama, then an Illinois state senator, gave a “glowing” reference for Whitaker to Tony Rezko, the now-convicted political fixer who helped Gov. Blagojevich find people to run state agencies. Blagojevich hired Whitaker to be the state’s public health director.
Obama has said that’s the only time he can recall talking to Rezko — who was a major campaign fund-raiser for him and for Blagojevich — about getting anyone a state job.
“I did not seek any position and was stunned when I was asked to interview for the IDPH director position,” Whitaker, who declined an interview request, said in a written response to questions. “My first encounter with Tony Rezko was when he called and told me to come in for an interview approximately one week after I had already been interviewed” by three other Blagojevich advisers.
Whitaker’s agency also got caught up in scandal. He oversaw the budget of the Illinois Health Facilities Planning Board, which approves medical construction projects. Rezko and his associates controlled that board, which they used to solicit kickbacks and payoffs, according to testimony at Rezko’s trial.
Whitaker left the state payroll a year ago and joined Obama’s wife Michelle as a high-ranking executive at the University of Chicago Medical Center.

I can’t speak to your cousin’s intelligence, sincerity or integrity.
But I have crossed paths with quite a few people who serve in foreign countries. I have never met one person who would ‘bribe’ anyone to believe anything. What would be the point in that?
If they really believe they are in the service of an all knowing God, what profit would there be in bribing or using any other form of manipualtion to elicit a desired response.
The ‘book’ is pretty clear. The Author hates the ‘Chicago way’.

Religious people, whatever their paricular faith, do not have a monopoly on ‘zealotry’. Historically some of the most brutal ‘zealots’ have been humanists.
In fact, abortion aside, I believe humanism in it’s varied permutations has been directly responsible for the deliberate deaths of more innocent people than all the wars, natural disasters, plagues and famines combined.

The truck was an nice new black full size ford pick up. (In Texas we call them ‘cowboy cadillacs’ or ‘bubbamobiles’.) Just that lone bumper sticker: ‘Impeach 0’bama'(pbuh)(The following weekend I saw a bumper sticker that said ‘Conservatives for 0’bama’. Now that is some sick humor.)
I apologize for contradicting your sterotypes. I even know some ‘black people’ who are actually African-Americans (unlike the 0’bama [pbuh]) who did NOT vote for the 0’bama (pbuh).
The ‘job approval rating’ was second hand knowledge or hearsay. A trusted friend told me he heard that on the radio after I told him I had seen the ‘Impeach 0’bama’ (pbuh) bumper sticker.
This kind of criticism goes with the territory when the 0’bama (pbuh) is so pretentious. There has never been another presumptive president who created a ‘president elect’ label for himself, or who held press conferences and instructed the lap dog media to refer to him as the ‘president elect’ or who had an ‘office of the president elect’ or who gave weekly ‘president elect’ radio and internet addresses.
(Who is the 0’bama (pbuh) trying so hard to convince? Could it be himself? he does seem to be preoccupied with himelf!)
You will recall the 0’bama (pbuh) had his personal seat on his campaign jet emblazoned with a personalized knockoff of the presidential seal.
The 0’bama (pbuh) choreographers are all about style and illusion. These are the same media mavens who gave us the Clintonian mystique/mistake. Like most ‘sequels’, it is inferior to the original.
The 0’bama has ‘created’ a target rich environment for political satirists and pundits.
Classic examples: When then President Bill Clinton visited the beaches of Normandy, some white stones just happened to be on the stretch of beach where he was walking and he arranged them into ‘plus sign’ (Some insensitive people might say ‘cruciform’.) And there just happened to be photographers in just the right position to catch the spontaneous ‘hollywood’ moment on film.
When then president Bill Clinton was trying to rehabilitate his image after his tryst with the whale tailed white house intern, some photographers just happened to catch him in a ‘candid’ moment dancing on a private beach with his first lady. (The whale tailed white house intern was pretty far down the list of numbered ladies.)
Fast forward to present. The presumptive president in waiting goes body surfing and the photographers just happen to be there to catch the 0’bama (pbuh) struttin his stuff.
The 0’bama (pbuh) goes to the same spot where he scattered flower pettles and the ashes of his cremated maternal grand mother, lo and behold, the photographers miraculously appear again to capture the moment.
Both the presumptive president and the actual president are surrounded by a phalanx of secret service agents 24/7. Surely they do not want anyone getting in a position to take his picture without their foreknowledge and their approval. The reason being, if you are in a position to take those photos with a telephoto lense, then you are in a position to take the same shot with a rifle. (See Zabruder film.)
The secret services job is to limit access to the 0’bama (pbuh) not facilitate it. They would not allow this kind of access unless the 0’bama (pbuh) ordered it.
These are ‘created photo ops’ for the benefit of the self absorbed and self indulged 0’bama (pbuh).
The 0’bama (pbuh) has probably already begun planning his presidential library and ‘creating’ his presidential memoirs.
The 0’bama (pbuh) is trying so hard to ‘look’ presidential. I guess he has to start early if he is ‘creating’ a legend, even if it is only in his own mind.

Maybe you have a point. Maybe. But when was the last time a President who was going into office who had THIS much to deal with? The weekly addresses are good. It’s something he promised. I’d like to know what he has planned. And.. are you really blaming him for people calling him the president-elect? That was what I heard him called on the news the second he had enough electoral votes. I don’t think he sent text messages right away asking for that. :)
And, I’m sorry.. sure, maybe these people were allowed to take pictures of Obama. Why would he care? He’s going to be President. Even if they had permission.. I mean, c’mon? Who cares? Someone wanted to take his picture, and it’s a big deal that he’s okay with that? Oh no!

Have you ever been the victim of manipulation? Do you remember what it felt like when you discovered someone was massaging your emotions in order to get you to do what they wanted.
I once shared with some friends how poor my family was growing up.
I said, “My mom would always make tamales so we would have something to unwrap on Chrismas morning.”
One of the ladies started to cry.
I said “No, no, don’t cry. It was only a joke. I heard it from George Lopez.”
Her emotions were real even though my story was not.
I wasn’t looking for anything from my friends but some laughs. I like to laugh. I like to make people laugh. Laughter is healthy.
We all manipulate at some time or another to get what we want. But emotionally healthy people do not ‘practice’ manipulation to get what they want.
Staged and choreopgraphed photo ops are a calculated form of manipulation. They are designed to elict a desired response, to entice you to reach a conclusion logic and reason would not lead you to do. They create an illusion, which by defintion, is false. The intent is to deceive.
Once you recognize the tactics, you will not easily fall prey to the schemes.
If the 0’bama [pbuh] is so wonderful, why does he allow others to manipulate him or why does he resort to manipulation to get others to do what he wants?

Geeze, it’s only a big deal because people make it one. I have NO desire to see the future President shirtless. Kinda gross, but whatev’. I don’t care. I’m certainly not being manipulated by it. I don’t think you’d think that if there were pictures of John McCain at the beach with HIS family. :)
What I object to is not the particular image, but the idea that these are promoted, either expressley or implicitly, as candid unrehearsed moments.
There are ‘photo ops’ where public figures do things that everyone knows are planned well in advance, like laying a wreath at the tomb of the unknown soldier or lighting the white house christmas tree.
The examples I gave of Bill Clinton and the 0’bama (pbuh) are falsely portrayed as candid, sponataneous, unrehearsed moments in the life of a real person. They are designed to portray a false image.
I just heard the 0’bama (pbuh) say on 60 minutes that he finds washing dishes to be ‘soothing’. Even his wife could not contain her disbelief at that bit of blarney.
No man I have ever known has told me he finds washing dishes a soothing experience. I used to enjoy splitting firewood. It was a diversion.
The 0’bama, like Bill Clinton, just can’t turn it off. Kind of like the algore saying he invented the internet. I have known drug addicts that just can’t stop talking and they tell lies when they do not have to. I suspect it comes from some sort of insecurity and the constant need to prove themselves or a guilty conscience.

Okay, say you’re right and I’m wrong, and this is a “staged” photo op (like the picture I posted of Reagan. :) … well, still, what’s the big deal? He’s at the beach. With his family. He’s not trying to make you think he was rescuing kittens… he was..swimming? Leaving a hotel? Who CARES? Why does it matter? I’ve seen pictures of GW with his horses trying to look outdoorsy. Obviously they were planned. Does that reflect poorly on GW? Nope. It doesn’t matter because.. well… they’re pictures.

There has never been another presumptive president who created a ‘president elect’ label for himself, or who held press conferences and instructed the lap dog media to refer to him as the ‘president elect’ or who had an ‘office of the president elect’ or who gave weekly ‘president elect’ radio and internet addresses.
(Who is the 0’bama (pbuh) trying so hard to convince? Could it be himself? he does seem to be preoccupied with himelf!)
You will recall the 0’bama (pbuh) had his personal seat on his campaign jet emblazoned with a personalized knockoff of the presidential seal.

Actually, before Bush’s presidency the majority of the people liked him (just like with Obama) so it wouldn’t have been a big deal… :)
