Stanek wkend Q: Are you voting for any pro-abortion candidates?

raunerWith the November 4 election around the corner, and early/absentee voting in full swing, have you or will you be voting for a pro-abortion candidate? If so, why?

The photo, right, is of pro-abortion Republican Bruce Rauner, who is running for governor in Illinois against pro-abortion Democrat incumbent Pat Quinn.

Pro-life Republicans have been told to vote for Rauner despite his stance on abortion because he is the lesser of two evils. Illinois is deeply in debt, and he’s a great businessman, we’re told. He’ll save the state.

Pro-life news brief 5-14-13

  • At Slate, Emily Bazelon claims Cleveland kidnapper Ariel Castro has never killed, even though he allegedly killed Michelle Knight’s five preborn children. Apparently in Bazelon’s mind, unborn children can’t be killed:

The Supreme Court has so far ruled out the death penalty for crimes other than murder. If you think that’s the right line to draw — that the state should not take the life of someone who has not killed — then Castro shouldn’t be executed. I have to say I’m having some trouble typing those words. But in this case, I think that’s the right call.

Final Update: Ask Them What They Mean by “Choice” Day

UPDATE 1/30, 7:12a: We blindsided and overwhelmed NARAL last year with our “Ask Them What They Mean by ‘Choice’” Day, but this year the group was more prepared. They signed up 1/3 more blogs to participate and tried to keep up with our counter-tweets.  But we forced them to think about what “choice” really stands […]

Busy week!

It has been Vacation Bible School week at my church, meaning we’ve had 4 of our 6-1/2 grandsons visiting the past several days! This should explain my absence without my having to say another word! Wow, I don’t know how I raised 3 kids of my own and got anything other than caring for them […]

Dueling pro-life/pro-death bus tours face off

I wrote yesterday that a desperate Planned Parenthood was trying to sabotage SBA List/Lila Rose’s “Women speak out: Defund Planned Parenthood” bus tour by replicating it with its own “Truth Tour” – holding rallies at 7 of SBA’s 11 stops 1/2 hour before SBA’s. The first dueling buses meet-up was at Republican pro-life Congressman Randy […]
