CBR attends Daytona 500
![]()
The Center for Bio-Ethical Reform thought the Daytona 500, held February 15 at the Daytona International Speedway in FL, provided a good opportunity to educate 185,000 NASCAR fans on the truth about abortion….
CBR brought its mobile Reproductive “CHOICE” Campaign pro-life billboard display as well as its air RCC display for the weekend.
Reported Mike Schrimsher, FL CBR Director, in an email:
The first day’s weather was so nice; we were also able to fly the 10-week abortion image tow banner… for about 2 hours over the track, during the race itself!
Thousands viewed the abortion images on the trucks and tens of thousands viewed the tow banner. Among the calls received from the trucks was one lady who worked as a marketing spokesman in one of the product display booths. She was so moved by the “Choice” signs that she volunteered her assistance and has already made a connection with a local sidewalk counseling ministry to work with other women outside the abortion clinics in the Orlando area.
Here are a couple more photos (click to enlarge)…

That is GREAT! Showing the hard evidence of abortion to this many people is wonderful.
Awesome!! The truth.

Get the placentas out of the sewer. Hospitals don’t toss biowaste in the sewer
Love these pictures! Hope it impacts people like it impacted me when I first saw them…I honestly cried. It was right after my daughter was born and I researched abortion for the first time…What I saw changed my life. I was never “for abortion”…but I never really thought about it too much until I had her. And then I really thought hard about what abortion really is…and didn’t like what I saw!!! God willing, these pictures will change people and their lives, forever.

Off topic, but I was thinking the exact same thing, xppc.
This is great. It is awesome that someone saw the images and has decided to get personally involved in volunteering her time!! :)
This is good, I bet there are alot men ( and women) who don’t realize what abortion actually is…the gravity of it….
Yes, Jasper, there are…but they don’t work for the killing cartel. Those who do know exactly what they are doing, butchering babies; they chop, handle, and count the body parts themselves.
They have no clue, of course, exactly WHO they are killing. All they see is bloody dollar signs…or more mouths to feed.
Good for CBR, and other prolife individuals and groups who publicly display these images, and not suppress clear evidence of a holocaust in progress.
You know, you can get CBR’s images off their website at cbrinfo.org…imagine if everyone who calls themself prolife were to simply print an 8×10 copy of one of these images, put in the the back window of his/her car and just drive around normally for about a month…then the next month, use another image…ya think it would change things? I do.
You stay classy now!
God bless the people driving trucks displaying those portraits of the slaughter. Face the Truth!! The slaughtering of unborn babies lives is happening at Planned Parenthood abortion mills throughout the US. And thanks to the party of Obamanation we are funding abortuaries worldwide now. What an ugly legacy he is making out of his presidency so far.
Who are you hoping to target with this campaign? You do realize there were probably children at the event don’t you? And do you realize such images only pours salt in the wounds of hurting post-abortion women and further destroys their trust towards the very pro-life individuals and organizations who could help them find healing.
Racheal C,
Maybe there are women in the crowd thinking about having an abortion and aftering seeing the images my not have one.
Rachael, there were likely pre-born “children at the event”.
I would have to disagree with you there Rachael C.
As a post abortive woman the images only served to draw me into the truth of what I had done. They are graphic because that is what abortion is! That is what abortion does to a growing child! The “salt on the wound” that you speak of is the personal guilt and shame and grief a woman feels at finally coming to terms with the killing of her own child. One needs to face into the pain to heal.
The only ones who reached out to me were those in the prolife movement and prolife organizations. They earned my trust by loving me. There have been MANY PC that have held only contempt for me and for those that regret the child killing that they support.
Women who are hurting after an abortion can find hope and healing!!

YLT,
You stay classy now too!! Don’t go changing to try and please me.
Jasper,
But I bet you there are many more post-abortion women as 1 in 3 women in the United States has had an abortion. Also, there’s more to the factor in deciding not to have an abortion, than just the graphic images, such as having the emotional support and resources to carry to term.
Jon,
And your point is? What about the living, breathing children who may have been present at that event with their parents and were exposed to the graphic images.
Carla,
I understand that the purpose of the images is to convey what is happening during an abortion, but there are other, better ways to change hearts and convery the importance of protecting the unborn, such as with images and education of prenatal development instead.
Also, that may have been the situation for you, where you were at a more healed place and ready to face the images, however for many women they are not and it only causes more grief as conveys a message of judgementalism on the part of pro-lifers (i.e. “Look at what you did! You killed your baby! You’re responsible for this!” especially for those who feel they had no other choice or who were doing the best possible thing for their child (versus raising the child homeless or without food, without a dad, etc) and these are the women who are hit even harder when post-abortion grief hits. I know, because I have listened and heard the hurt from many women on the PASS Support Boards. And these women aren’t going to be able to trust pro-lifers if they feel they are being judged or that we care more about their baby than them.
I was not at a more healed place. I was hurting but had a very hardened heart. These pictures broke me and I am very grateful that they did!! The pictures still break my heart.
Do you believe the intent is really to judge post abortive women? To be in their face with “Look what you did! You killed your baby!” etc?? Seriously? I do not believe that is the intention at all. That is a child’s body after an abortion. Fact. Truth.
I am saddened that I am having this discussion with a fellow prolifer. (Checked your blog)
I guess I should head on over to the PASS Support Boards and speak love to the women who feel judged or that feel I care more about their baby than about them.
I get judged all the time about my abortion. Kinda have to live with that. I do agree there can be a judgment on the part of some PL, a self-righteous ignorance that comes across as “I can’t believe you killed your baby!” I have to pray for them.
Wait a minute…are you a prolifer who believes a woman makes the best possible choice by killing her child because the child might not have a dad? I am confused.
Regardless of the reasons a woman may abort the truth is she is the mother of a child that lived before it died by abortion.
Yes, there are many many ways to reach people. We may have to agree to disagree on which ones we think are most effective.
No, Carla, I’m pro-life, but I was giving those women’s perspesctives. Of course, you could join the PASS Support Board, to help other women heal, that is why I joined 4 years ago, but it has been eye-opening for me and I have since found wonderful support for my depression and have made many friends.
Thank you Rachael. I have to say that I won’t be healed until I get to heaven and hold Aubrey. Until then I receive healing in so many different ways and that is what makes this journey less difficult.
God bless you and the work you do!!!
Carla,
I guess we’re just going to have to agree to disagree on this one. But let me know if you decided to join the PASS Boards and I’ll friend you there and show you around.
Thank you Rachael. I have to say that I won’t be healed until I get to heaven and hold Aubrey. Until then I receive healing in so many different ways and that is what makes this journey less difficult.
God bless you and the work you do!!!
((hugs)) Thank tou :-)
Jasper,
Thanks for stopping by and commenting on my blog (you too, Carla) :-) I replied to your comment there.
I agree 1000% with showing these photos to the masses, children included. Children who grow up knowing what an abortion really is are probably much less likely to ever “need” one or to ever consider one. My child, for one, will absolutely know what abortion is!!! I wish I could be one of those truck driver! God bless them!!!!
Why is it that people who say things like “I understand that the purpose of the images is to convey what is happening during an abortion, but there are other, better ways”….. never, ever seem to suggest the “better ways” to show people what abortion does? And what gives them the right to tell others how to do what their heart tells them to do?
Father Frank Pavone has said “America will not reject abortion until America sees abortion”, and I agree with him 100%. You can talk until you are blue in the face, and it mans nothing to most people, but show them one image of an aborted child and suddenly “they get it”. I’ve seen people change their views in an instant, upon seeing these images, I know the work. I’ve never seen anyone change because of a lecture.
CBR does a great job, along with other fine organizations, of getting out the truth about what abortion is, and what it does to a baby.
And anyone who would try to suppress these images does not deserve the honor of being called prolife, IMHO.
I only wished they would, on the trucks, put a helpline number for those wounded by abortion. So if the women and men have a heart stopping reaction to the pictures at least they would have a resouce to call at the moment or when they would be able to.
Many people in the post-abortion healing work feel these pictures don’t help. Thinking if they used 3d ultrasounds pictures that would be better. I know for a fact these pictures have saved babies lives and their mothers from having a life from Hell with all the pain that comes from the abortion aftermath.
Being a mother of an aborted child I have no problem with the pictures. They bring it home for me in a way that I feel I actually honor my child for being able to look at them. I am so very sorry I allowed my child to be ripped and torn apart in the manor these pictures show. Everytime I see one I always say, “I am sorry Ryan, I really am sorry.” What parent wouldn’t?
I have been forgiven, healed and set -free as much as I can be here on earth…but I will always miss him until I reach him.
I have always felt there needs to more done to reach out to those wounded.
Doyle, I don’t appreciate being singled out. I never said “don’t do that!” I just said its not the most effective method & it’s just my personal opinion, take it or leave it. And who are you to make the guidelines for being prolife?
Hello Ann Marie,
I clicked on your name and know you my sweet friend!! :)
Much love to you and Ryan!!
BTW, Carla, I was serious about meeting up on the PASS Support Boards, maybe you can bring healing to other women as well as find closure for yourself. In sincerity, Rachael
Rachael 8:18, I was trying to make the same point that Jasper made, but probably he made it better. If the pictures cause some mothers to reconsider getting an abortion, then some children have been saved. Which is worse, unintentionally (indirectly) frightening a child or deliberately killing him? Anyway, many children know that they are eating a bird when they are eating a chicken. They need to learn that it’s okay to kill a bird but not okay to kill a human being. (And then, even later in their development, they need to learn the justification for self defense, capital punishment, and justifiable military intervention.)
Pre-born children are no less living children than are born children. Fetal human beings are obviously more dependent–so the parents, especially the mother, carry greater responsibility–but fetal human beings are arguably more essentially children than are born children. Nobody doubts that they are human offspring, i.e. children. Everybody knows whose children they are.
Rachael,
I intend to check that out!! Thanks!!
Oh, and it is not closure I am seeking. I will be healed when I get to heaven and hold Aubrey, the daughter I aborted. I seek to tell other women and men that there is hope and healing after abortion. AND to plant the seeds of doubt that abortion is THE BEST thing we can offer women.
I have had to replace the windshield on my truck FOUR times due to pro-life bumper stickers I’ve had on it. Each time, the vandalism occurred at a different location.
My insurance finally cancelled me.
These are the bumper stickers I had: (not all at the same time)
1.) Abortion stops a beating heart.
2.) Abortion: One dead One wounded
3.) It’s a BABY, not a “choice”.
4.) If it isn’t a BABY, you’re NOT pregnant.
Leave the graphics to the Truth Trucks and high flying banners…unless you’re independantly wealthy…or have a fleet of vehicles.
Mike, really? that’s a bummer. Fortuantly I never received vandilism to my car as a result of my pro-life bumper stickers.
Yeah, it’s a shame. Then there are all those “living abortions” known as children who are neglected, beaten, starved, abused, raped, maimed, mutilated and killed by “loving” parents or family members and/or members of the Christian community.
All this love for unborn children, yet so little for those already here.
And what about those upstanding types who kill others to prevent abortion of fetuses. Good, upstanding types they are as well. I guess it’s OK for them to kill, ’cause “God” said it was OK.
I could have sworn the commandment said “Thou shalt not kill.” (KJV) I don’t recall ever reading any codicils that permitted only the killing of abortionists. Must be one of them newfangled Bibles.
It’s easier to fight for the life that someone else will have to take care of, isn’t it? Maybe, someday, people will fight as hard for ALL life than only that which doesn’t affect them beyond a rallying cry or a social commentary.
