Seriously, where does RH Reality Check find these people?
Why haven’t the atheists embraced Peter Singer? I suspect it is because they fear that his unpalatable views will discredit the cause of atheism. What they haven’t considered, however, is whether Singer, virtually alone among their numbers, is uncompromisingly working out the implications of living in a truly secular society, one completely purged of Christian and transcendental foundations. In Singer, we may be witnessing someone both horrifying and yet somehow refreshing: an intellectually honest atheist.

Seriously, where does RH Reality Check find these people?
In the mainstream.
And if you think Peter Singer is the only “intellectually honest” atheist, you must also agree that guys like James Kopp and Paul Hill are the only “intellectually honest” pro-lifers, since they’re the only ones willing to take the “abortion is murder” rhetoric to its logical conclusion: shooting doctors to protect embryos.
“James Kopp and Paul Hill are the only “intellectually honest” pro-lifers, since they’re the only ones willing to take the “abortion is murder” rhetoric to its logical conclusion: shooting doctors to protect embryos.”
No, it does not logically follow and here is why. The just war doctrine provides a good framework for determining when civilians should use extra-ordinary means to fight an unjust law like abortion. It states
“- the damage inflicted by the aggressor on the nation or community of nations must be lasting, grave, and certain;
– all other means of putting an end to it must have been shown to be impractical or ineffective;
– there must be serious prospects of success;
– the use of arms must not produce evils and disorders graver than the evil to be eliminated. The power of modem means of destruction weighs very heavily in evaluating this condition. ”
While abortion does indeed satisfy teh first condition, I would argue that it does not satisfy the other three. We have not exhausted all other means of ending abortion. We have very little prospect of success, and it would cause horrific, untold damage, the likes of which our country would never recover from.
So once you put the question in some context and frame it correctly, no, killing abortionists does not logically follow. Killing people, regrdless if they’re inside the womb or outside the womb, because they lack proper brain function however does.
Barack Obama needs prayer for conversion more than most people. Possibly the only souls deeper into the Evil One are those that bought and paid for B.O. to win the election. I pray they all have the scales removed from their eyes, the hardness of their hearts softened, and they are freed from the greed and idol-worship of secular humanism. I pray that this happens before even one more innocent baby is sacrificed for the elite, power-mongers who perpetrate the crimes of abortion, contraception, and immoral acts.
