Attend suicide workshop
As if people had trouble thinking of new ways to kill themselves, Australian physician Philip Nitschke, his country’s “Dr. Death,” is hosting a “do-it-yourself” suicide workshop “in a seaside retirement town” in the UK, according to the Daily Mail.
Nitschke will then take his suicide show on the road to 3 other European cities.
Nitschke will demonstrate his suicide kit – on who? – “which includes a helium-filled ‘exit bag’ which is placed over the head, drugs from Mexico, morphine and DIY Peaceful Pills,” according to the Daily Mail.
Nitschke, founder of Exit International, a right-to-die organization, blames “centuries of religious claptrap” for the opposition he has faced:
There needs to be a reshaping of people’s education and beliefs around such a subject. It seems we demand humans to live with indignity, pain and anguish whereas we are kinder to our pets when their suffering becomes too much. It simply is not logical or mature….
So sticking an “exit bag” over one’s own head is “logical” and “mature.”
The suicide/euthanasia movement is growing by leaps and bounds despite the fact its members don’t last long.
AOL is even posing Nitschke’s suicide workshop as a poll question, as if there’s any question it’s crazy. And guess what? More people support it at this point than don’t.
The coming demographic winter and rationed healthcare will only strengthen this crowd. This is going to get as big and bad as abortion.
I recommend pro-lifers attend the 2nd International Symposium on Euthanasia and Assisted Suicide on May 29-30 in DC.

Maybe Philip Nitschke is a reincarnation of Friedrich Nietsche. But Friedrich Nietsche died in 1900 after about eight years of insanity.
Ever since Jill picked a fight with another pro life group, it appears this site is heading for a recession.
it’s truly a sad state of affairs when 41% of people believe in this sort of crap
but it fits right in when you ruminate on it.
After all, since most people have shed their belief in God, suffering has no meaning and certainly living with suffering has even less. I’d probably kill myself too under these circumstances.
Yllas, that really is not the case at all. This site has been growing by leaps and bounds over the last several months.
There are many, many silent readers of this blog, and the number of them keeps increasing and even doubling even when Jill takes a break from blogging.
Liberals love death. :(

I have a friend who was very heavily involved in the initial prolife movement in the 1970’s. She quickly turned her focus on euthanasia way back then. The woman, the wife of a nobel prize laureate told me that the practice of euthanasia will make abortion seem like a picnic in the park….:(
Funny that the UK has forbidden Michael Savage to visit but they let this guy.
I have tried to warn my fellow Boomers that as the pyramid scheme known as “social security” proves to be about as secure as a Madoff investment, the drumbeat to hasten our deaths will be deafening. The tax burden upon the smaller demographic of the working young to support the poorly managed social programs such as medicare/medicaid coupled with Obama’s plan for socialized medicine, aka “government rationed non-health care” will mean any Boomer limping or growing forgetful will be deemed a useless eater.
angel the modern problem is that there is no ‘significance’ to human life. Since significance lies in the realm of faith – and is the specific reserve of God …. any verified value to human effort is ‘crap’ …. a negative value assessment, no?
That’s right, John. “vanity of vanities; all is vanity.” as the Good Book says.
Nice to “see” you again, my friend.
Hello John McD! Good to see you!
John, how wonderful to see you!!

Yeah, Bethany…but strangely enough, not their own.
Anyone who doesn’t believe this is SICK needs to actually think about the consequences.
yes I agree John (welcome back BTW!).
also life is considered of value as long as one can have experiences.
A sick/dying person has no “experiences”.
As someone who used to be suicidal… This makes me want to vomit!

My opinion is abortion will always be the most important of the life issues. The reason I feel this way is because there is no one more innocent or defenseless than an unborn baby in its mother’s womb.
Suicide-kits should be made illegal, and he and his organization should be banned from entry into the U.S. if he ever tries to enter. What in the world is wrong with the Australian Parliament to allow this??
OH MY.
According to his website “Exit International”, this wacko may indeed try to move to the US after a less than cordial reception by the British government.
Assisted suicide is illegal in Britain and carries a maximum penalty of 14 years in prison.
“I’m not sure, but we might be forced to move to the US, which still has freedom of speech and increasingly looks like a less hostile environment.”

killing yourself is NOT FREE SPEECH. Its usually done by someone who is mentally ill or thinks they are a burden on their families.
Australia was originally founded as a colony for convicts, so I am not surprised they allow Euthanasia. You think SOMEONE would be concerned he’s targeting the ELDERLY (retirement community?).
This is the stuff of Nazi Germany!

Joanne I still think it all goes back to contraception. Without contraception the respect for life would still be intact.
Abortion merely opened pandora’s box to death. If you can kill a defenseless baby you can kill anyone.
Yes I see your point Angel. Already two states allow assisted suicide…. Washington and Oregon.
It’s frightening because once we allow death for the terminally ill what’s next? Elderly people who are confused? Anyone in a wheelchair?
And with the administration and their culture of death I can see why this “doctor” wants to come to the US.

To be more specific, I am only observing a reduction of “comments” at this site.
This reduction of comments began with the end of the presidental election.
Hey Janet and Liz- don’t assume that just because this psychopath is from Australia that his antics are allowed here. Nitschke often travels to other countries where he is allowed far more latitude than his mother country offers. He is a big part of the campaign to change the laws in Aus, though, even for post-natal depression and teenaged angst He is a very sick man and would be best friends with Tiller the Killer if their relative careers didn’t keep them so busy.
A lot of the reduction in posts had to do with us finally cracking down and deleting trolls posts instead of wasting so much time and effort in responding to them all.
If you’ll go back and see the longer threads, you’ll see that a lot of them are long- not because there are more people but because the same people are spending more time arguing with trolls.
I really don’t understand what you have against Jill, Yllas. She is fighting to protect the lives of the unborn every day. She never did anything to hurt you. What does it matter if she has 5 or 50,000 people commenting on her site? What matters is that she is taking a stand against the enemy.

And once all these ill, elderly people are gone..they will now target just the elderly. Starting from 60yrs old up..then 50..then 40..then 30…
Chilling…reminds me of the old 70’s sci-fi series called “Logan’s Run”.

There’s nothing at this point that gives me hope that Nitschke would be restricted from entering the US. Do you think Kathleen Sebelius at HHS is going to stop him? He would probably be welcomed in Oregon and Washington State where assisted suicide is legal. I suppose the FDA and U.S. Customs might be able to prevent him from importing his “suicide kits”. I hope so, but I’m not holding my breath until it happens.
