Why I am not surprised? The Catholic News Agency reports Hillary Clinton may have been exaggerating her tale of visiting Brazilian hospitals and claiming that half the women she saw there were “fighting for their lives against botched abortions”:
The National Catholic Register contacted Department of State spokeswoman Laura Tischler to see if there was any record of Clinton’s trip to Brazilian hospitals. Tischler said, “I am unable to confirm where or when the trip she referred to in her testimony was — where specifically in Brazil she was visiting or when the trip occurred.”
CNN has an article on the short list of Obama‘s possible Supreme Court nominees….
Why Jennifer Granholm would ever be considered for this post, besides the fact that she’s relatively young, a woman, and is politically liberal, is beyond me. If she’s selected, it would seem rather obvious that Obama didn’t make the selection based on legal skills and experience. The fact that she’s even on the short list is a rather scary indication of Obama’s selection process.
Desiring God Ministries has put together a well done YouTube video using part of John Piper‘s response to President Obama’s declaration on the anniversary of Roe v. Wade…
[JLS note: Excellent message, excellently presented…]
The Telegraph‘s Ed West has a piece on sex-selection abortion and how pro-choicers respond.
Linda Reid Chassiakos writes in the LA Times about a mother who delayed surgery to remove a brain tumor so her unborn daughter would have a greater chance of survival. The child survived after being born at 28 weeks while the mother passed away.
The 12th Annual March for Life in Canada will be taking place today, according to the National Post.

Bad news and good news. I would give anything for a pro-life Court justice, but that, tragically, won’t happen.
It’s wonderful that there are fewer women dying of abortions now in Brazil then, then Clinton had said. So sad about the mother who sacrificed her life- what a courageous woman.
Be carefull what you pray for. Obama can’t answer prayer. He can nominate someone that can be a defector as was Sooooter. Others can change.
There is no doubt that Obama doesn’t take this respectfully. He would far rather have an in your face radical than a competent judge.
He needs to really respect this move because he may face this court in person.
The 12th Annual March for Life in Canada will be taking place today, according to the National Post.
And this from the National Post:
Today, the 12th annual March for Life will take place in Ottawa. Up to 10,000 people, half of them under the age of 25, will walk, sing and pray for an end to abortion in Canada. If past patterns are repeated, there will be hardly any mention of the event in the media — a contrast with the numerous protests a fraction of the size that tend to receive full and fulsome coverage.
I posted elsewhere that there is a total media blackout, with the exception of this National Post editorial, our one and only conservative newspaper.
That’s an excellent article and this remark is very sad but true in this country:
“Park the car in a disabled parking spot and you’ll be hit with a heavy fine. Abort or euthanize a disabled person and you’ll be awarded the Order of Canada.”
Government should not intrude on our most private family matters
Baloney! What about child abuse. What about domestic violence. I’m sure our prisons are filled with people who believe their crimes were “private family matters.”
I think that Hillary visited those women in Brazil with the botched abortions after her trip to Bosnia where she and Chelsea had to dodge sniper fire when they landed at the airport.
Who Is Jill Stanek?
Jill Stanek is a nurse turned speaker, columnist and blogger, a national figure in the effort to protect both preborn and postborn innocent human life.
That video…those words by John Piper…wow.
The man simply tells it like it is, with passion. You can’t improve on that.

This doesn’t even BEGIN to mention the fire upon her helicopter while it was trying to land in Rio…
