Alert: Protest Obama’s speech tomorrow at AMA convention, Chicago
Tomorrow, June 15, President Obama will address delegates at the American Medical Association annual convention in Chicago to push his abortion-funding socialized health care plan.
The Pro-Life Action League is sponsoring a protest outside the Hyatt Regency, 151 East Wacker Drive, Chicago, at 10:30a CST, where and when Obama will speak.
Lest you doubt Obama’s intentions, the last 2 Planned Parenthood weekly email alerts have been about the health care plan. Read this one. The intention to include abortion in nationalized health care couldn’t be any more clear. (Yet isn’t it interesting, as always, that the A-word is awol.) Click twice to enlarge…

when has a proabort been upfront about anything they undertake? When?
Is it just me or does it seem PP is acting desperate?
Rosie, I think one of the reasons Obama wants a socialized health care system is to further entrench abortion in health care.
It will be very difficult for Catholic physicians to practice medicine according to their conscience in such a system unless there are certain protections given. Obama would likely not consider such protections “reasonable”.
I wish Oabma were that pro abort. But he is not. He barely condemned the murder of Dr. Tiller. he talks about reconciliation by both sides. If I were Obama, I would have rouded up all the executives of Op Rescue and waterboarded them.
And the future of American healthcare is right here in New York State, where medicaid already covers abortion (I think it is the only state in the union where it does).
He sent US Marshals to protect abortionists. He’s PRO ABORTION. He doesn’t believe a baby that survives an abortion attempt should be given medical care (and the babies we are talking about are babies that survive late 2nd trimester and 3rd trimester abortions). Babies like Gianna Jessen, who was LUCKY to survive. And why
doesn ‘t he support this? Because it would put a “burden on the one who wanted the abortion performed” to get another doctor’s opinion.
I don’t want nationalized health care. I want to be able go to a doctor that never prescribes THE PILL or tries to bully me into contraception.
It also took him two days to express outrage about the death of an army recruiter in Arkansas.
I agree, angel @ 9:46AM. I’m having difficulty enlarging the image. Looks like the 2nd paragraph says that PP is already serving the communities most in need of a system that works. The admission that services are already available reinforces my belief that rescinding conscience protections is about silencing opposition.
Providers of conscience have to be silenced or forced out of their professions. For nationalized health care to succeed we must have providers whose conscience isn’t troubled by putting the needs of the patient secondary to cost-effective, government-mandated protocols.

I love it when liberals say what they really believe.

Angel: And that’s what worries me. What will happen to doctors that only practice NFP and actually search for the cause of the problems instead of just automatically prescribing the “miracle drug” (AKA The PILL)?
What will happen to wonderful doctors like Thomas Hilgers at the Pope Paul VI institute? Will they be forced to go against their beliefs?
I could see cancer patients and the disabled not getting the treatments they need, but birth control prescriptions dispensed similar to buying a bag of chips or a candy bar from a vending machine.
The American Medical Association, of all people, should be ashamed of themselves for supporting abortion. Their predecessors must be rolling over in their graves.
Yes. The pro-death movement {aka Satan} is trying to make the world accept this evil as “the norm.” Obama snuck into Notre Dame, and now they want doctors and nurses to throw away their morals and “get with the times.” I know a lot of women who have had abortions. Many of them have sadly had more than one. Can you imagine the generations to come? They will probably say things like this in the high school halls, “Yeah, I’m already on my fifth abortion.” “It’s no big deal.”… Dear God help us.
I used to really love the show Frontline. There is a 2008 piece out. It’s about Mississippi and their abortion clinics closing. I guess they only have one left standing. I’m not sure if this is still the case. I remember when Jill ran the 1983 episode. One African American woman said “We don’t have any abortion clinics, so we have to[emphasis on HAVE TO} have these babies,” as she bounced her own baby on her lap. “Some of these single mothers have 5-6 kids.” Really? So, I guess that means that she/ they had to have sex. It’s so easy to tear down their side of the debate.
Don’t worry, Heather. This will pass. As Martin Luther King, Jr. said, “I believe that unarmed truth and unconditional love will have the final word in reality. This is why right, temporarily defeated, is stronger than evil triumphant.”
People will do the right thing. We just have to remain dedicated, constantly alert to change in the world, and support the human as much as we support the good in the human.
Of course we knew the owner of the out of state clinic would toss a jab at pro-lifers. She explained “Throwing them a pack of Pampers and a stroller isn’t enough.” “Pro-lifers only care about the life in the womb.” “They don’t care about the born baby, and that’s not enough.” So, killing a poor child in the womb is the answer? Also, another woman said that she “prayed about the decision, and God gave her the answer to abort.” Most confusing.
Vannah, thank you for the pick me up!;)
If her god told her to abort, he’s red with horns and carries a pitchfork.
She is deceived, big time.
If she doesn’t wake up and repent, she’ll have a rude awakening when she dies.
Ed, I know. She told the owner that her husband had been killed in an accident, and she already had a son. Even so, no excuse.
My Local Right to life was taking donations to help a mother (who had not chosen abortion, but had gotten the love and support she needed to continue her pregnancy) who needed help with her rent / utilities and to get her car fixed. So, we DO help these moms. Pregnancy Resource centers don’t just “toss a pack of pampers” at new moms. They also have these items that are donated: baby clothes, toys; and these essential services: parenting classes and referrals to community agencies (like the type that help with temporary housing or job referrals).
Liz, I had 2 baby showers when I had my daughter 2 years ago. I really got some of the most beautiful stuff! I didn’t even use most of it. I called RTL, and I donated clothes, a stroller, a Pack and Play, and a beautiful crib. I’ve got to laugh. It had a vibrating mattress and music! Anyway, if I didn’t care about the needs of another woman/baby, why would I bother? I gave my things away for free. I’m sure these women aren’t getting a free abortion.
The PC side always looks at the doom and the gloom that the pregnancy will bring. I’ve heard it put this way….Unplanned pregnancies also bring unplanned joy.
Angel: And that’s what worries me. What will happen to doctors that only practice NFP and actually search for the cause of the problems instead of just automatically prescribing the “miracle drug” (AKA The PILL)?
they will be very selective in whom they take on as patients.
People who have similar beliefs will find the doctor via word of mouth. That’s how it works Liz.
In this way the doctor is protected and so are his patients.
Heather,
One of my favorite ministries is Hand of Help. They minister to the poor and needy in Romania and have an orphanage with over 100 children.
Their most recent newsletter may be found at http://www.handofhelp.com/newsletter_200904.php.
Here’s a brief excerpt from an article “To God Be The Glory” showing God’s faithfulness to provide:
As I was walking through the orphanage one day I couldn’t help but overhear a conversation between one of our newer staff members, and a staff member that has been with us since the first day the hand of help orphanage opened almost twelve years ago. They were discussing the current economic crisis that has spread throughout the world like an unchecked bonfire, and the newer staff member was pouring out her heart explaining that she was so thankful to have a job at Hand of Help, but she was wondering how long we would be able to keep our doors open given the times we live in. I was anxious to hear the seasoned staff member’s answer so I slowed to listen, and was pleasantly surprised when with an authority birthed of conviction and personal experience she said, “I’ve been working here long enough to know that God loves this ministry, He loves these children, and somehow we always manage to get through another month. The children always get fed, the heat is always on, the water is always running, and all we can do is thank God for His faithfulness. Why worry about tomorrow? It is in God’s hands.”
It’s tragic that so many young mom’s become paralyzed with fear and aren’t able to trust God to take care of them and their babies.
The first article in the newsletter “A Day in the Life” is another short but great piece discussing the challenge of raising 100 children. Any Mom-to-be would be encouraged reading testimonies of God’s faithfulness.
(The link won’t work if you copy the period like I did.) It’s just – http://www.handofhelp.com/newsletter_200904.php
Yes. Some women look for PL doctors only.
Ed, thank you for the link. I can run it through my search engine to find. I agree. I also had an unplanned pregnancy in a less than ideal situation, but abortion wasn’t my solution. If you trust in God, he will work it out.
Heather,
Thanks for all you do for Life! Sounds like you’ve got a boat-load of blessings stored up!
Ed, thanks to you as well. I’m not wealthy, but I can do what I can. It doesn’t take money to care about other people. It takes a heart.
God bless all of those little orphans. Some would just as soon see them dead.
As one abortionist was quoted, “Aborted babies are just garbage.” “That’s all they are, garbage.”
I suppose Obama shares the abortionist’s view:(
So sad. Pathetic in fact.
Planned Parenthood is a criminal organization which has killed millions of human beings.
The violence which they commit cannot be justified by any resort to logic and so they must always fall back on intellectual dishonesty.
Lies, evasions and fallacies have always been and will always be the only way for the abortionist movement.
Heather @ 1:24–“Dear God help us.”
That about says it all. As for Obama, just as he had never seen a sex ed program that he doesn’t like, which we talked about in a previous post, the same with abortion. His agenda is to make abortion a universal right, and available to all irregardless of their ability to pay.
The more we see of Obama, the more we see how incredibly distorted his view of life is. Many of us from Illinois knew of his far left views, but thanks to the media acting as a cheerleader through and through on his behalf, well, now we have him.
Those who supported him without learning more about his radicalism are going to see real soon they should have done their homework. More and more people are already starting to wake up.
Elections have consequences. This man who has never worked a real job in his life, and does not know the first thing about business, is telling executives how to do their jobs and wants to control their pay as well.
Furthermore, Comrad Obamanation is sidestepping congress by his appointment of the so called “czars”–some 21 of them to date. The work they are doing replaces much of the traditional input of the cabinet offices and congressional committees, the latter being composed of people we elect.
Unless Democrats wake up real fast and see where he is taking our country, or the loyal opposition can mount a heroic effort in the fall of 2010 and reclaim congress, we will soon see the devolution of our freedoms and way of life into a mere shadow of its former self.

That is satanic.
I guess abortionists have to justify what they do somehow. But it’s even more chilling he admits its a baby instead of “fetus” or “potential human being.”
I wish people could hear more from people such as Angele, and Sycloria Williams, then they’d see the paign of loosing hself worth, and self respect. “They’ll listen because that’s their job. But they won’t care. They won’t understand.” However President Abortion, would try to down play these wimmons stories, but post abortive wimon, do not need to give up! I support you all the way! RJ
And the future of American healthcare is right here in New York State, where medicaid already covers abortion (I think it is the only state in the union where it does).
Listen to Dhalgren’s trimphalism! “Killing babies is great!Should be more of it!”
Suffer, Babies! Suffer, Women! Suffer, pro-lifers!
Why is Obama dressed like a doctor? Are O’s supporters that deranged?
Jill, What’s that oath doctor’s have to take? Something about not doing harm? RJ
In regard to the talk about certain folks from the PC side that seek to demonize crisis pregnancy clinics or other charity groups: I’ve been to two centers, once to get a pregnancy test and once to get a verification for medicaid, and although I was not considering abortion they still offered me the full extent of their resources: food, diapers, counseling, housing, medical care, etc. It was not as if since I was already planning to keep a pregnancy, which I told them up front, that they lost interest in helping me (as in the often heard faulty argument of pro-life groups only caring that the baby is born and nothing else). They were eager to support me regardless of the situation. It was not some sort of opportunistic promise of pampers so I’d keep a baby and they get a gold star on their Jesus chart, as some would like to portray it. I can honestly say that their primary concern was helping women, not pushing a political view.
TORTURE IS “MEDICAL RESEARCH”
In 1980, Dr. Martti Kekomaki justified conduction experiments involving slicing open the stomachs and cutting off the heads of live late term aborted babies, “An aborted baby is just garbage and that’s where it ends up,” he declared, “Why not make use of it for society?” (National Examiner, 8-19-80 pp. 20-21.)
Well, here’s the quote. It’s not word for word, but you get the point.
I can honestly say that their primary concern was helping women, not pushing a political view.

I use to volunteer with an organization that helps pregnant women and every woman who called us or came through our doors was always offered help. Our concern was always for the woman and her baby. They were always treated with respect and dignity. And with much tenderness and love.
In 1973
The U.S. Supreme Court in its Roe v. Wade decision ruled that unborn babies are not legal “persons”. From that point on they have had no rights or protection under our constitution. Since that decision, over 45,000,000 babies have been put to death by abortion in this country.
UNBORN BABIES ARE “SUB-HUMAN”
“Fetuses, especially those as old as five or six months, elicit our sympathy… because they look disconcertingly like people… But, this sympathy is misplaced… While [it] may, perhaps, possess some flickering of sensation, or some capacity to feel pain, this is equally true… of creatures like fish or insects… a proper respect for the right to life requires that it not be respected where it does not exist.” (Commentary on “Can The Fetus Be An Organ Farm?”)
UNBORN BABIES ARE “PARASITES”
“A woman would have the right to abortion just as she has a right to remove any parasitic growth from her body.” (Gloria Steinman, author and feminist leader, on CNN, Sept. 9, 1981.)
UNBORN BABIES ARE A “MASS” OF TISSUE
“What is aborted is a protoplasmic mass and not a real, live, grown up individual.” This statement was made by Drs. J.F. McDermott and W.F. Char in an effort to pacify nurses at a Hawaiian hospital when they became extremely upset by “dead fetuses and pieces of limbs, fingernails and hair” in the operating room.” (Sereny, Into that Darkness, p. 201.)
ABORTION IS SIMPLY “EVACUATION”
Between 1970 and 1977, California millionaire-abortionist Dr. Edward Allred was personally responsible for destroying 35,000 human lives before birth, including some 7,000 mid-trimester abortions by salt poisoning. When asked by a reporter what happens in an abortion, Dr. Allred said: “the contents are evacuated.” (Assignment Life, New Liberty Films)
More cold blooded quotes from the pro death crowd.
The Supreme court also once ruled that BLACKS were 3/4 of a person despite obviously being humans and BORN.
Now we have early the same situation, but with the unborn.
How about this for a protest poster: the Hippocratic oath (with the “Do No Harm clause in it) in black or blue ink over “Abortion kills our unborn children and hurts women” in red ink.
I’m beginning to have my doubts about the Supreme court. Aren’t they supposed to be really intelligent people? I wonder sometimes.
Would those of you who’ve shared their positive experiences with pregnancy resource centers here (as a volunteer or client) be interested in sharing your experience for a blog article I’ve written on PRCs? The article can be found here.
Heather didn’t quote the National ENQUIRER, which is a tabloid rag.

Actually, no. The United States Constitution declared that slaves were to be counted as 3/5 of a person for purposes of the census.
Heather, Obama didn’t sneak into Notre Dame he was invited by two of the biggest decenters and puppets for Satan which are Rev. John Jenkins and Rev. Richard P McBrien and who are right where they want to be, smack in the middle of our childrens education.
okay, 3/5 of a person. My point is that they were treated as property and for the most part, as animals (some were mistreated and abused). The lucky ones were taught to read and were even freed.
There is a separate person growing inside of a woman when she is pregnant. Not 3/5th of a person, not a POTENTIAL person, but a unique person with his/her own DNA.
Apple, where do you think I ought to find my facts on abortion?
It was on line. What about my other posts, Apple? You can’t refute me, because they were said. Can you prove that these posts are untrue? Can you prove that this man never said it? Do it.
Apple, tell me where I should get my sources.
Are you also going to deny that Gloria Steinem never said that an unborn baby was a parasite?
I just want to say thank-you to Jill for your honesty and preserverance in protecting the unborn and helping families, and to all the bloggers who support unborn children and families in so many ways. This is my first time reading this website and I’m encouraged to keep standing for life and praying for those who are blind. As Jesus said, we need to, “Pray for our enemies”.
