Weekend question
Yesterday the National Right to Life Committee bestowed its first ever “Phony-Baloney Citation” to Rep. Kendrick Meek (D–FL), for claiming to seek “common ground” on abortion in a letter he co-signed this week to Nancy Pelosi proposing reproductive healthcare “reform.”
But meanwhile Meek has racked up 30 anti-life votes in his mere 6 years as congressman, including opposition to parental notification, the Partial Birth Abortion Ban, and fetal homicide penalties. As recently as last week Meek voted against amendments to the healthcare bill that would have prevented mandated abortion insurance coverage and public funded abortion.
This week’s question: To which politician(s) would you give a Phony-Baloney Citation?

Here is big phoney Nancy Pelosi kissing the Pope’s ring. Pelosi has a ‘0’ rating from the National Right to Life.

Don’t forget the outright heresy she’s spouted on numerous morning talk shows, Jasper.
I am more Catholic than this woman.
Sorry to be ‘flip’ but, Nancy Pelosi kissing the Pope’s ring? I’m surprised she didn’t burst into flames! :)
“I am more Catholic than this woman.”
Yes you are X. You are also closer to God than her as well. (even though you may not believe in Him yet…:)
I would give that award to either Kathleen Sebelious or John Holdron.
Sebelious because she defends the abortion industry over the health and care of women, and Holdron because he seems to believe that women should have abortion forced upon them in the name of population control.
Although I don’t think either of them try to promote ‘common ground’.
What’s interesting is that Meeks has his eye on the senate seat that Martinez is going to vacate next year.
I so hope Marco Rubio takes the prize. Has four kids and very pro life.
My contempt for the actions of these men-pleasing, child-killing politicians forces me to place them well beyond the “phony baloney” characterization into an entirely different category.
I prefer “Dead-Heads”.
They may be articulate. They may be charismatic. But spiritually, morally and ethically, they are “the walking dead”. These men and women remind me of the poor souls you see on psych wards, overly medicated, eyes glazed over, mouths open and sometimes drooling, making their way up and down the hallway doing the “Thorazine shuffle”.
In 1960, unborn children were considered precious gifts from God. A mother’s womb was considered that special place where life began and was protected and nurtured before birth. Abortion was despised by most, a criminal act in every state, and the murderer of a pregnant woman was charged with two counts to include the baby.
Today, the stupefied souls of these brain-dead politicians have made the most dangerous place for a young child his or her mother’s womb. The infant mortality rate in the U.S. is around 700 per 100,000 live births or .7%.
That is, unless your mother and/or father hate you.
In that case, your mortality rate is 22,000 per 100,000 live births – 22%. It’s a whopping 47% if you’re African American.
Women’s bodies are given to them by God and they will be held accountable for their stewardship – whether they use them to nurture and give life, or as a torture and death chamber for innocent children.
Children are not invaders. They are not parasites.
Abortion is murder.
Every politician that supports a woman’s right to kill is complicit in her crime.
The Fires of God’s Judgment await those shuffling toward eternity.
P.S. I mean no disrespect to the mentally ill by comparing them to politicians. My heart goes out to them.
47% of African American children murdered in the womb?!?!?!
Un-freaking-believable!
Wow, I have to type the letter “k”, as in KKK.

And it’s legal!!!
Citation goes to….Sam Brownback!!!!!!!!!
Mitt Romney ….$50 copay for abortions under the Massachusettes health care plan.
47% of African American children murdered in the womb…mmm…WTF did that freakin statistic come from?
let see, Dr. George Tiller, providing a legal medical service was MURDERED by someone willing to believe 47% of African American children murdered in the womb.
The only MURDER being committed is by right wing christian zealots…so far, at the last count four husbands – fathers gunned down in cold blood.
I dream of a day when Pro Abortion folks began listing pro life leaders on web sites…inciting followers to end their actions, by any means necessary.
Oh yea, that is definitely moral…
Just curious, James. Do you hold all muslims responsible for 9/11?
Barny Frank
47% of African American children murdered in the womb…mmm…WTF did that freakin statistic come from?
The Guttmaucher Institute. In other words James, the abortion industry.
Check your facts James.
Here’s some data from the Guttmacher site and birth data from the CDC website for 2005:
number of abortions: 1,210,000
37% Afr. American: 447,700
# Afr. Amer. live births: 633,134
% Afr. Amer. babies murdered in womb: 41.4%
I didn’t see what year the 47% figure was based on. Still, almost 1/2 million black babies killed in 2005.
Not too shabby eh James?
If we’re just talking politicians, my Hawaiian President takes the cake.
If we’re talking people who claim to be unequivocally prolife, Doug Kmiec wins platinum.

Sorry, but I think the real tragedy here is the fact that you don’t seem to think that ripping up another human being in their mother’s womb constitutes murder.
The list of nominees would be much shorter if you asked which politician should NOT receive the ‘phony-baloney’ citation.

I, me, yours truly, also known by some as ‘seprarated brethren’ and ‘evangelical’, am more catholic than ms Pelosi and I have never been to parochial school or been instructed in the catechism.
I just love the picture of the feminista Pelosi bowing to kiss a man’s ring. (No disrespect to the Pope, but he is a male.)
The sisterhood of the feminstas must be apoplectic the sight of that image.
ms Pelosi has no bar no matter how low that she not will stoop, bow, or contort to get under, over, and/or around if she believe it will increase her political capital.
I am surprised the Pope would dain to touch her blood stained hands or allow her lyin lips to contaminate his bling.
I guess when you are the Pope, protocol requires you do some things you probably would not do otherwise.
This is worst to me than that green pea soup scene from ‘The Exorcist’.
Eeeeewwwwwwww!

“The only MURDER being committed is by right wing christian zealots…so far, at the last count four husbands – fathers gunned down in cold blood.”
That is only true if you are bigoted enough not to count the 50 million pre-natal humans murdered by abortionists in this country alone.
———————————————————
“I dream of a day when Pro Abortion folks began listing pro life leaders on web sites…inciting followers to end their actions, by any means necessary.”
What was it George W. Bush said, when asked if our military presence in Iraq would provoke the Jew hating mass murderers and serial killers to greater acts of of violence?
Oh yeah, I remember, “Bring it on.”
How’s that working out for the bullys and thugs?
—————————————————–
James give me some examples where recognized pro-life leaders have advocated, or even condoned, using violence as a means to stop the men and women who murder pre-natal children?
By the way, James, what species embryo/fetus was present in your mom’s uterus when she was pregnant with you?
yor bro ken
Clearly an opportunist or should I more accurately say a parasite?
Just thought I’d give a little shout out to the brothers out there.
In an earlier post to this thread, I used some pretty strong language to convey my convictions about abortion. I see politicians as partners with our police departments charged to “protect and serve.” Our police officers need strong leadership from our elected officials, good laws that they can enforce to protect the weak and vulnerable among us and maintain peace, order and justice.
State-sanctioned child-killing makes my blood boil. And it’s high time, like CBR’s Gregg Cunningham’s example, that we refuse to allow this atrocity to be ignored or trivialized. We need to hold politicians accountable for their contribution to the mess we’re in.
And speaking of accountability, I did not intend to neglect the brothers out there in my earlier post.
Listen up men.
Like the police, we are charged to serve, protect, and also provide for our own. Guttmacher’s 2004 survey showed ¾ of the women interviewed were seeking abortion because they didn’t think they could afford to take care of the child.
Guess what guys, that’s on us. If you get your girlfriend or wife pregnant, your job is to love her, support her, reassure her, let her know you are going to take care of her, and be with her through the pregnancy. And if you both decide that you are unable to provide for the child long term, then you will be with her right through the adoption process.
Period.
You don’t kill the child!
If men would stand up, man up and do their duties as men, theoretically, we could reduce abortions in this country by 75% according to the referenced survey. The second leading cause for abortions, according to the women interviewed, was relationship issues with their boyfriend/husband, at 48%.
Guess what men, that’s on us as well.
During the Great Depression in the early 1930’s, my grandparents were driving home from the doctor’s office where they learned Grandma was pregnant with their 4th child. When Grandma broke down in tears, my Grandpa Jackson pulled the car over, put his arm around her and told her not to worry, that every baby was a gift from God, and that He would take care of them.
That baby was my Aunt Mary. She gave my grandparents 8 wonderful grandchildren.
And if my grandparents had stopped with 3 kids, you wouldn’t be reading this post.
Great post,ED! Thank You and God Bless You :)
Thanks Pam.
I’m always a little concerned when I bring out both barrels aimed at the politicians that I don’t offend the post-abortive Moms out there.
We’ve all made mistakes and thanks to the Precious Blood of Jesus, He can cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Our sins and our iniquities He remembers no more! As far as the East is from the West, He’s removed our transgressions from us. We’re justified, made right, just-as-if we’d never sinned, by the Power of His Blood.
And there will be many, many awesome family reunions, when we get to Heaven.
Glory to God!
Loved your post, too, Ed. If more men would step up and take responsibility for the children they participate in creating, I think things would look very different in this country, and not only in terms of abortion numbers. Have you ever seen Gianna Jessen’s speech in Australia? She addresses these very points with extreme eloquence. It’s on youtube if you haven’t seen it yet.
Haven’t seen it yet klynn73. I’ll be sure to check it out tomorrow.
Thanks!
Wow Klynn, that was powerful!
They all stood up, gave her a standing ovation, then voted to decriminalize baby-killing the very next day.
Un-believable.
The world has become so hard-hearted and depraved.
I’m reminded of this passage, at the end of the “Hall of Faith”, from the 11th chapter of the Book of Hebrews:
? And what more shall I say? For the time would fail me to tell of ?Gideon and ?Barak and ?Samson and ?Jephthah, also of ?David and ?Samuel and the prophets: who through faith subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, ?stopped the mouths of lions, ?quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, became valiant in battle, turned to flight the armies of the aliens. ??Women received their dead raised to life again. Others were ?tortured, not accepting deliverance, that they might obtain a better resurrection. Still others had trial of mockings and scourgings, yes, and ?of chains and imprisonment. ?They were stoned, they were sawn in two, ?were tempted, were slain with the sword. ?They wandered about ?in sheepskins and goatskins, being destitute, afflicted, tormented—? of whom the world was not worthy. Heb 11:32-38
God Bless Gianna for her courageous fighting in the Battle for Life! Sadly, the spineless cowards she implored to follow her example that day turned their back on the unborn, to their own peril.
Consider this passage from the Book of Matthew:
? Another parable He put forth to them, saying: “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field; but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way. But when the grain had sprouted and produced a crop, then the tares also appeared. So the servants of the owner came and said to him, ‘Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares?’ He said to them, ‘An enemy has done this.’ The servants said to him, ‘Do you want us then to go and gather them up?’ ?But he said, ‘No, lest while you gather up the tares you also uproot the wheat with them. ?Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, “First gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but ?gather the wheat into my barn.” ’ ” Mt 13:24-30
It’s tragic, but those who cast votes authorizing the genocide of His little ones that day, will be judged and condemned by Gianna’s words.
And unless they repent, they will burn.

It’s nice to see Scripture quoted in the secular news.
My heart breaks as well for the men I know who wanted their child very much and were willing to man up only to find out that she aborted their child.
Thanks Ed for your post. Black politicians like Mr. Meeks have bowed their knees on the altar of the god Molech (found in the Old Testament to who babies were sacrificed) but today when people sacrifice their babies it is on the altar of so-called “choice” and convenience in the abortuaries of PP and other abortuaries, who target AA babies. They fill their medical waste dumpsters with human carnage. God help our nation.
Definitely our junior PA senator.
His father, the mighty Bob Casey, a true pro-life champion, must be twirling in his grave.
The whole GOP. For saying that they are Pro-Life, but REALLY never DOING anything about it. And, being completely against ANY health reform what-so-ever while at the same time admitting we NEED it…
Abortion is not health care.
Pregnancy is NOT a sexually transmitted disease!

being completely against ANY health reform
Not quite. Conservatives are against government TAKEOVER of health insurance and health care delivery systems in the manner proposed by liberals.
Conservatives believe decisions about health care are best left between patients and physicians. They also believe it is wrong to discriminate in the provision of health care services based on age, disability, or other factors being proposed by libs in the bill.
Libs complain that insurance companies deny coverage to people with pre-existing conditions yet they are trying to codify into law the discouragement of treatment for the elderly and disabled. Libs are trying to do on large scale what some insurance companies have been doing on a small scale. Talk about hypocrisy!
Conservatives recognize that we have the best health care system in the world. It works for more than 80% of this country. Only a liberal would seek to ruin it for everyone instead of improving it for the other 20%.
Thank you Fed Up for that wonderful post.
Soonerman, did a republican kick your dog one time, or cut you off in traffic or something? You seem to like making gross accusations about them that you can’t and don’t back up rather frequently.
Republicans donate more money to charities that actually help people than liberals on average, even though they usually have less money to begin with, on average.
What has Nancy Pelosi done for poor people lately? Been trying her damnedest to put as many out of work as possible by trying to make it as hard as possible for employers to offer jobs to them? People won’t really give a flying flip about health insurance when they don’t have a job to keep food on the table. Have you ever been poor, soonerman?
Made some corrections for ya there fed-up…just the facts! just the facts! TRUTH is in CAPS!
Not quite. Conservatives are against government TAKEOVER of health insurance and health care delivery systems in the manner proposed by liberals. YES, COMPETITION TO KEEP THE INDUSTRY HONESTS IS A BAD THING. I WONDER HOW REPUBS VOTED ON THINGS LIKE …..CREDIT UNIONS.
Conservatives believe decisions about health care are best left between patients and physicians AND INSURANCE BEAUCRATS. They also believe it is wrong to discriminate in the provision of health care services based on age, disability, or other factors being proposed by libs in the bill. THAT’S WHY THEY WANT TO CONTINUE A SYSTEM THAT ALLOWS PEOPLE TO BE DISCRIMINATED AGAINST BASED ON PRE-EXISTING CONDITIONS. (PLEASE, LOOK @ REPUBLICAN VOTES ON THE ADA ACT! YOU GUYS ARE REALLY SMOKIN’ SOMETHING!)
Libs complain that insurance companies deny coverage to people with pre-existing conditions yet they are trying to codify into law the discouragement of treatment for the elderly and disabled. Libs are trying to do on large scale what some insurance companies have been doing on a small scale. Talk about hypocrisy WHAT IS MEDICARE THEN? WHO IS FOR IT AND WHO IS AGAINST IT? STOP WATCHING FAUX FOR TALKING POINTS AND GET THE FACTS. (AGAIN, “DISABLED”…LOL..GO LOOK AT ADA VOTES AND THEN TALK TO ME ABOUT THE DISABLED.)
Conservatives recognize that we have the best health care system in the world. It works for more than 80% of this country. Only a liberal would seek to ruin it for everyone instead of improving it for the other 20%. (THERE ARE SO MANY STATISTICS THAT SAY OTHERWISE. WE AREN’T #1 IN MORTALITY RATES. WE AREN’T #1 IN COST (EFFICIENCY). WE AREN’T #1 IN “WAIT TIMES” OR LAG OR WHATEVER YOU CALL IT. JUST WHAT ARE WE #1 IN?
Why are you so afraid to provide health coverage for those 20%? That’s a lot of dead fetus’s. Are you not pro-life? At least, you can do it for the fetus’s. lol.
Here’s a pipe and a match.
To the ABSOLUTELY LUDACRIST IDEA THAT THE BILL WANTS TO KILL SENIORS. That claim is completely irresponisble and unbecoming of anyone calling themselves a Christian! Hey, but some of you would team up with Satan, if it meant the downfall of Obama..lol.
w3.factcheck.org/2009/07/false-euthanasia-claims/
Some more lies being pushed by….GASP! CHRISTIANS!
w3.factcheck.org/2009/07/surgery-for-seniors-vs-abortions/
Please, FED-UP, edu-macate yourself. You oppose health reform. Just admit it! But, for God’s sake, don’t come up with some outrageous garbage like “Obama wants to kill all the old people”, to justify your objections to it.
Good Grief.
Ok..on the original passage of ADA, I was wrong and apologize for misrepresenting republicans…for the most part.
clerk.house.gov/evs/1990/roll123.xml
It was similar in 2008.
like 400 something – 17 “nos” or something.
I offer my apologies.
Now, to answer Mr. or Mrs. Xalisae.
“Soonerman, did a republican kick your dog one time, or cut you off in traffic or something? You seem to like making gross accusations about them that you can’t and don’t back up rather frequently.”
Not at all, I love republicans. I love my neighbors. They are republicans. I’d give my life for them. They love me.
I like Senator Coburn. He’s open and honest even though I disagree with him 95% of the time. (He’s 100% better than Inhoff).
What I don’t like about republicans is that they default ALWAYS with the whomever has the most $$$. Rush even brags about it! I, certainly, don’t approve of the overt racism and undercover racism rampant in your party now. (Do you agree with Anne Coulter that THERE IS NO RACIAL PROFILING?). Again, if she believes that, I’d like her to walk a mile in my shoes.
Are black folks oversensitive about stuff? YOU BETCHA’ w/o a doubt. However, the fact that repubs don’t take our concerns seriously and continue to dismiss them as a “victimazation” attitude is ridiculous. I’m no welfare King. My whole damn family worked their butts off to get where they are. 5 cousins on both sides served in Iraq. (3 of them @ the same time) (2 of them served in the first Iraq war and 2 uncles) However, we are deemed as unpatriotic, lazy (see “Barack the Magic Negro”..listen to it.)
You guys pushed all this “moral majority” stuff but, then don’t practice what you preach. The stuff FED-UP posted about “denying care for the ederly and disabled” alone shows that. She/He completely lies just to prove a political point but, will turn around and have the audacity to want to tell me about Jesus….please. In the 90s, you guys spent almost $100 million and made a huge hub-bub about Clinton’s encounters but, then want to cry “foul” and “liberal bias” when the media begin nailing you over your skeletons.
I could go on and on…
“Republicans donate more money to charities that actually help people than liberals on average, even though they usually have less money to begin with, on average.”
Liberals believe it takes more than money to actually do things for people..IT TAKES INVOLVEMENT. Specifically, “COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT”, (which, with the election of BHO, is something that you guys have grown fond of mocking). I remember the Norman environmental club guy visiting my house on several occasions in 100 degree Oklahoma heat just to get curbside recycling on a ballot. It failed the first time. It passed the second. NO ONE! ZERO! PRO-LIFE people have ever ring my doorbell to talk about abortion. So, money isn’t the issue. Get involved in peoples lives and make a real difference.
“What has Nancy Pelosi done for poor people lately? Been trying her damnedest to put as many out of work as possible by trying to make it as hard as possible for employers to offer jobs to them? People won’t really give a flying flip about health insurance when they don’t have a job to keep food on the table. Have you ever been poor, soonerman?”
X, I’ll grant you that. No one in congress is on the working mans side. Don’t be fooled. They all become “populist” during campaigns. They all bring up the middle class during campaign speeches. And, yet, our government, civic and business leaders continue to agree to ridiculous trade agreements that are costing this country hundreds of thousands of jobs. Then, they turn around and get us to bicker amongst ourselves so as to not see where the true blame lies. China has tariffs to protect a variety of their industries (like the seafood and textiles). Why don’t we insist on fair trade? Why are the working class men and women sold down the river everytime? I’ll tell you why. You and I cannot afford million dollar campaign donations tis why.
So, yes, Pelosi is in that same boat. My political philosphy is, if you want real change in DC, you have to vote ALL incumbents out of office. That sends a message of “we are sick of business as usual.”
I’ve been poor Xalisae. Have you? By the grace of God, I’m not now. However, I’ve never been poor in spirit! I’ve always had loving family and friends.
Based on your post, my theory about you is that you are between the ages of 25 and 30 and you come from upper middle class upbringing where there were few minorities. Tell me I’m wrong?
Mrs. Stanek, thanks for letting me “rumble” with you guys.
That’s not true. Especially saying something like that on a website like this. Last I checked, Planned Parenthood, NARAL, and NOW all have a lot more money than any fetal human I know of personally.
You just don’t get it, do you? It’s about capitalism, stupid. Republicans and conservatives care A LOT about the disadvantaged. However, we seek out private venues and endeavors with which to help individuals rather than favoring what is essentially the destruction of our well-established and fully-functional economic system. See…we’d rather bring the few who struggle UP (by helping them help themselves) instead of formulating schemes which more than likely will primarily serve to simply drag down the 70-80% who are currently completely if not more than satisfied with how things stand today.
Personally, I don’t see the racism, and if any DID exist, I say you’re just perpetuating a problem by sitting there and getting agitated by it! Do you think an open wound will heal faster with less scarring if you sit there and pick at it, or if you simply bandage it and leave it alone?! I’m not white. The whole damned town here knows everyone, because it’s a VERY small town. Everyone knew my mom is Mexican, because she obviously IS Mexican. I never heard a negative word about it until I hit college, and even then it was just one numskull who was easily called out on his idiocy and afterward ignored, and once he realized that it wasn’t going to bother me, he started talking to me as he would anyone else and we came to be close friends. I’m telling you: you do your community and yourself a GREAT disservice by allowing these things to affect you and your ethnic group as a whole! How can you find the fact that Republicans KNOW that if you indulge such vitriolic nonsense, you EMPOWER IT AGAINST YOURSELF! Why would you want to do that? There is such a great difference between taking a stand for yourself and letting yourself be a part of the system that others will not let you become despite their protests to better yourself and becoming a bitter husk who has lost sight of WHY you fight to be included because you only do so out of spite. From what I’ve read of the civil rights movement, I would say that the great leaders of any rights movement were BETTER and not BITTER.
I mean, c’mon. I’m at least a 16th Cherokee on my father’s side, and I’d have to say that Native Americans had it just a pinch worse than Africans in our nation’s youth. At least blacks, even in the midst of slavery, were counted as fractional persons. Native Americans were simply seen as an animal scourge to be completely eliminated. But this dark chapter of American History for my ancestors doesn’t make me hate my country and make me a prisoner of hate against whites. Being proud of one’s heritage shouldn’t interfere with someone’s life. We are ALL Americans.
The past is the past. Am I not allowed to vote because of my gender as things used to be here? How could I ever justify holding it against my country that AT ONE POINT IN TIME IT WOULD HAVE denied my rights but would never dream of doing so today? Should we retroactively prosecute practitioners of bloodletting whose patients died as a consequence for their ignorance while ignoring the leaps and bounds medical science has made in our present day? Do not let ignorance of the past fuel ignorance of the future.
I don’t think you’re unpatriotic or lazy (and if unpatriotic, not for the color of your skin but due to your liberal proclivities :P ). Are you Barrack Obama? If you do a little more searching on the “Barrack The Magic Negro”, you’d find the Wiki article on the song which states:
The title is a reference to the magical negro, a stock character in fiction who commonly helps the white protagonist to get out of trouble. The song builds upon David Ehrenstein’s assertion in the Los Angeles Times that Barack Obama would serve as a “magical negro” to assuage white guilt.[3] The song’s lyrics explicitly refer to this:
“Yeah, the guy from the L.A. paper
Said he makes guilty whites feel good
They’ll vote for him, and not for me
‘Cause he’s not from the hood.[4]”
It was a satire of how LIBERALS were treating Barrack Obama! In light of this, how can you not see that the Dems and Libs are trying to USE YOU AND YOUR PEOPLE?!
“Walk a mile in my shoes…”?
I’m sorry if anything bad has ever happened to you because of your race, but that’s just the action of an ignorant person, and you shouldn’t let that ignorance hold you down by acknowledging it. I’d treat that just as I’d treat anyone who said ANYTHING derogatory toward me, as I said earlier…
Liberals believe it takes more than money to actually do things for people..IT TAKES INVOLVEMENT.
Yes, and that’s why I said we tend to give more money to CHARITIES. Those organizations are run by someone, sweetheart. I used to work for a non-profit, and let me say, we get crap done, and do it well. I’m sure I can’t say the same for the government.
NO ONE! ZERO! PRO-LIFE people have ever ring my doorbell to talk about abortion. So, money isn’t the issue. Get involved in peoples lives and make a real difference.
Been trying. My husband doesn’t want me do stuff like that presently, especially since this stuff with Tiller, because he’s heard some of the stories here and other places about the various assaults and whatnot concerning pro-lifers and is afraid for my safety. But one day, I’ll be able to do more than just talk to people about it here and other places…I’ll wear him down eventually. >_
